Initial adjustments to the product were made according to the order form. Nevertheless, fine adjustments and set
tings may have to be made depending on the medical situation or the user’s requirements.
These instructions for use provide the information necessary for adjusting the settings. This work should be closely
coordinated with the user.

• The manufacturer recommends checking the product settings regularly in order to assure an optimum fit over
the long term. A review is required every six months for children and youths in particular.

2 Intended use

►When you work on the product, secure it so that it cannot tip over or fall over.
►Use a clamping fixture to secure the product whenever you work on it at a workbench.

4.3 Storage
Store the product in a dry, enclosed room with sufficient air circulation and protection from external influences.
Specific information about storage conditions: see Page40.
Maintain sufficient clearance from sources of heat.
Direct exposure to sunlight or UV radiation causes materials to harden and the product to age more quickly. When
storing the product, do not expose it to direct sunlight or UV light.
5 Preparing the product for use
5.1 Assembly

►When folding out the backrest, only grip by the specified components.
5.1.1 Attaching the seating unit
CAUTION
Incorrect adjustment of the tilt-limiter on the outdoor mobility base
User falls out due to user error
►Before mounting the seating unit on the outdoor mobility base, adjust the tilt-limiter as appropriate for the dir
ection in which the seating unit will face.
►The tilt-limiter is adjusted on the outdoor mobility base. For information on adjusting the tilt-limiter, see the
instructions for use for the outdoor mobility base.
CAUTION
Failure to secure the seating unit when attaching it
User falling, tipping or falling out of the seating unit due to it not being secured or parts coming loose
►Before attaching and removing the seating unit and before the user gets in or out, always engage the wheel
lock on the mobility base. Verify the braking function.
►When attaching the seating unit, always make sure it engages audibly in the mobility base.
►Secure the seating unit using the seat lock.
NOTICE
Unfolded lateral support pads when attaching, detaching or adjusting the seating unit
Damage to the covers due to excessive wear
►When detaching, attaching or adjusting the product, fold the lateral support pads inwards so that they do not
come into contact with the mobility base.
a) Determining the direction of the seating unit
The seating unit can be mounted on the mobility base in 2 directions:
• In the direction of travel (see fig.1, example for outdoor mobility base)
• Opposite to the direction of travel (see fig.2, example for outdoor mobility base)

b) Attaching the seating unit
1) First place the seating unit on the rear tube of the seat adapter at an angle of approximately45° (see fig.3).
2) Press the front edge of the seating unit onto the mobility base until the retaining claw audibly snaps onto the
front tube of the seat adapter (see fig.4).
3) Slide the seat lock to the left to engage it; the green symbol indicates that the seating unit is locked (see fig.5,
no.1).
4) Check that the seating unit and the mobility base are securely connected. Do this by pulling back the back sup
port.
→The seating unit must remain firmly on the mobility base.
c) Removing the seating unit
For information about removing the seating unit, please see the instructions for use (user) (section "Remov
ing/attaching the seating unit").

5.1.2 Mounting the padding
INFORMATION
►If necessary: Before applying the back support pads, all required components have to be installed on the
frame tubes of the back support insert. First mount the canopy adapters (see Page27) and support pads,
only then the pads.
►Adjust the seating unit prior to mounting the pads (see Page31 ff).
►If the product was ordered without padding, please note the information in the section “Delivery without
padding” (see Page29).
a) Mounting the back support pad
1) Open the zip on the pad.
2) Pull the pad with its cap over the back support and close the zip (see fig.6).
3) Pull the lower end of the pad through between the back support and seat bottom.
4) Close the twist lock (see fig.7).
5) Push the pad under the support pads at the sides (see fig.8).
b) Mounting the seat pad
1) Attach the pad with the hook-and-loop fastener (see fig.9).
2) Push the pad under the support pads at the sides (see fig.8).

6.1 Headrests
6.1.1 Head support pads, adjustable laterally
1) Pull the proper sides of the lateral head supports through the pad (see fig.10). The pointed sides of the sup
port pads face down, the rounded sides face up (see fig.11).
2) Open the zip at the top of the pad (see fig.6) and push the pad behind the seat to the side.
3) Guide the mounting screws from the front through the slotted hole in the lateral head support and through the
bore hole in the back support respectively (see fig.11, item1).
INFORMATION: If the lateral head supports are to be mounted to the top bore holes in the back sup
port, the longer mounting screws that were supplied must be used.
4) Install the wing nuts on the screws on the rear of the back support and slightly tighten them.
5) Adjust the distance of the lateral head supports if needed (see Page33).
6) Firmly tighten the wing nuts.
7) Close the zip at the top of the pad.

6.1.2 Integrated head support with slight lateral support
Assembly is done at the factory following receipt of an order.
The width of the head section can be adjusted: see Page33.
6.1.3 Head support, individually adjustable
INFORMATION
To adjust the head support: see Page34.
INFORMATION
The option "head support, individually adjustable" is used in combination with a short back support.
6.1.3.1 Mounting the head support
The support is mounted on a head support holder (see fig.17):
1) Loosen and remove the Allen head screws (see fig.12, no.1) on the adapter (see fig.12, no.2) on the back of
the support.
2) Insert the ball joint head (see fig.13, no.1) of the head support holder with the shaped plate (see fig.13,
no.2) in the adapter.
3) Align the shaped plate so the bore holes of the shaped plate and the adapter are in a straight line (see fig.12,
see fig.13).
4) Insert and tighten the Allen head screws to 5Nm.
5) Check that the support is securely attached.
INFORMATION: For information on adjusting the angle of inclination, see Page34.

6.1.3.2 Mounting the head support holder
1) Insert the mounting screws through the bore holes in the back support and the head support holder.
2) Place the cap nuts on the reverse side.
3) Tighten the screw connections (see fig.14).
6.1.3.3 Mounting an additional connecting bridge
An additional connecting bridge may have to be installed to achieve anatomically correct support for the head.
1) Loosen the mounting screws on the back support and head support holder (see fig.14).
2) Unscrew the head support holder from the connecting bridge and attach it to the additional connecting bridge
(see fig.15, item1).
3) Push the connecting bridges together (see fig.15, item2).
4) Put on a washer (see fig.16, item1) and screw the connecting bridges together using the thumbscrew (see
fig.17, item1).
5) Mount the assembly on the back support (see Page11).

6.2 Positioning belts
CAUTION
Incorrect approach to the adjustment process
Injuries, malpositions, user discomfort due to adjustment errors
►The belt system may only be installed by qualified personnel.
►The qualified personnel is responsible for the individual positioning and fitting of the belt system.
►Adjusting the belt system too tightly may lead to unnecessary pain or user discomfort.
►Adjusting the belt system too loosely can cause the user to slide into a dangerous position. In addition, the
fastening snaps could open unintentionally if they slide against hard parts of clothing (e.g.buttons).
►For proper installation and adjustment, follow the instructions for use included with the product.
6.2.1 Strap guide
For improved belt guidance in the pelvic area, strap guides must be mounted with the following option (mounting
point see fig.18, no.1):
• Lap belt of the five-point belt
1) Attach the strap guide at the small bore hole on the inside of the rear seat frame (see fig.19, no.1).
2) Guide the screw through the small bore hole from the outside (see fig.19, no.2) and screw it into the strap
guide.
3) Put on the washer and cap nut from the inside. Do not fully tighten yet.
4) Position the strap guide so the D-ring lies over the large bore hole (see fig.18, no.1).
5) Tighten the washer and cap nut.

6.2.2 Lap belts
6.2.2.1 Two-point lap belt with metal buckle, padded

Mounting the 2-point lap belt
1) Close the belt buckle and pull out the belt (see fig.21, no.1).
INFORMATION: Make sure not to push the plastic part beyond the guide in the metal part.
2) Pull the plastic loop off the belt (see fig.21, no.2).
3) Pull a belt pad (see fig.20, no.3) off the belt. The belt is now ready for mounting (see fig.22).
4) Place the belt on the seat. Take the end of the belt (see fig.23, no.1) and thread it between the seat bottom
and hip support to the outside of the seat (see fig.23, no.2).
5) Thread the end of the belt through the large bore holes in the base frame (see fig.23, no.3; see fig.24, no.1).
6) Thread the end of the belt to the front between the seat bottom and hip support (see fig.24, no.2).
7) Slide the plastic loop (see fig.20, no.2) and the belt pad (see fig.20, no.3) onto the belt.
8) Pull the end of the belt through the buckle (see fig.21, no.1).
→If the buckle (see fig.20, no.4) can be closed when it lies in the centre of the seat, the lap belt has been moun
ted properly.

6.2.2.2 Two-point lap belt with plastic buckle

Mounting the 2-point lap belt
1) Mount the 3-slot mounting brackets (see fig.25, no.3) at the bore holes on the underside of the seat plate (see
fig.26, no.1).
INFORMATION: It should be possible to turn the 3-slot mounting brackets with some resistance if
needed.
2) Turn the 3-slot mounting brackets to the outside.
3) Lay the 2-point lap belt on the seat.
4) Guide the ends of the belt sideways under the hip supports (see fig.27, no.1).
With adjustable arm supports: Guide the belt ends behind the arm support holder (see fig.27, no.1).
5) Thread the ends of the belt through the 3-slot mounting brackets (see fig.28). Adjust the belt length and tight
en the belt.
6) If necessary, cut off protruding belt ends and seal the loose ends by applying heat (e.g. with a lighter).

Mounting the 4-point lap belt
1) Mount the 3-slot mounting brackets (see fig.29, no.5) at the bore holes on the bottom of the seat plate.
INFORMATION: It should be possible to turn the 3-slot mounting brackets with some resistance if
needed.
2) Turn the 3-slot mounting brackets (see fig.29, no.5) to the outside.
3) Lay the 4-point lap belt on the seat.
4) Guide the upper belts (see fig.29, no.2) sideways under the hip supports (see fig.31).
With adjustable arm supports: Guide the upper belts behind the arm support holder (see fig.31, no.1).
Guide the positioning belts (see fig.29, no.3) in front of the arm support holder.
5) Thread the ends of the belt through the 3-slot mounting brackets (see fig.28). Adjust the belt length and tight
en the belt.
6) If necessary, cut off protruding belt ends and seal the loose ends by applying heat (e.g. with a lighter).

1) Rivet the clips (see fig.32, no.1) in the bore holes of the back support frame (see fig.33, no.2).
2) Thread the shoulder straps (see fig.32, no.2) through the back support pad and back support (see fig.34).
3) Attach the shoulder straps in the clips (see fig.33, no.1).
4) If necessary, cut off protruding belt ends of the shoulder straps and seal the loose ends by applying heat (e.g.
with a lighter).
5) Mount the lap belt (see fig.32, no.4) (see Page13).
→If the buckle (see fig.32, no.7) can be closed when it lies in the centre of the seat, the four-point belt has been
mounted properly.

3) Attach the shoulder straps in the clips at the rear (see fig.33, no.1).
b) Mounting lap belts
1) Mount the loose strap guide on the right (see fig.35, no.4) (see Page12).
2) Thread the right lap belt (see fig.35, no.5) through the connection piece to the rear between the seat and
back support.
3) Thread the right lap belt through the strap guide and let it hang down (see fig.36).
4) Thread the left lap belt (see fig.35, no.5) through the connection piece to the rear between the seat and back
support.
5) Mount the fixed strap guide (see fig.35, no.6) (see Page12).
6) Guide the right lap belt through the plastic loop (see fig.35, no.7).
7) Press the buckle on the left end of the lap belt together (see fig.35, no.8) and thread the right lap belt (see
fig.35, no.5) through the buckle behind the seat (see fig.37, see fig.38, see fig.39).
INFORMATION: Make sure not to push the plastic part beyond the guide in the metal part.
8) Finally, thread the right lap belt through the plastic loop again.

c) Mounting the crotch belt
1) Thread the crotch belt (see fig.35, no.9) with the proper side through the front slot of the seat plate (see
fig.40, no.1).
2) Thread the crotch belt twice through the stop plate (see fig.35, no.10) and back up through the seat plate
(see fig.40, no.2).
3) Thread the crotch belt through the adjustment clasp again (see fig.41, no.1).

d) Finishing mounting
1) Trim excess belt ends if necessary.
2) Seal the loose ends by applying heat (e.g. with a lighter).
→If the buckle (see fig.35, no.9) can be closed when it lies in the centre of the seat, the five-point belt has been
mounted properly.
6.3 Positioning aids
CAUTION
Lack of instruction
Injuries, malpositions, illness of the user due to incorrect information
►The qualified personnel is responsible for making sure that the user and/or attendant/nursing staff has under
stood the proper adjustment, use, maintenance and care of the belt system.
►In particular, ensure that the user and/or attendant/care staff knows how to quickly loosen and open the
product to avoid delays in case of emergency.
6.3.1 Thoracic supports
1) Run the proper sides of the thoracic supports through the pad. The pointed sides of the support pads face up,
the rounded sides face down (see fig.42).
INFORMATION: For folding thoracic supports only: The red release button on the folding thoracic sup
port can face up or down. We recommend mounting the thoracic support so the release button faces
up, making it easier to use.
2) Put the mounting screws respectively through the slotted hole in the thoracic support and the back support
(see fig.42, item1; see fig.43, item1).
3) Fasten the thoracic supports on the rear of the back support using wing nuts.
4) If necessary, adjust the width and height. Firmly tighten the wing nuts.
