Preface
Thank you for purchasing the Stretcher Trolley (hereafter
referred to as the “stretcher”).
This instruction manual describes precautions and how
to safely use and operate the stretcher.
 Before using this stretcher, please read this
instruction manual to fully understand the safe
and proper operating procedures.
 Users and/or patients are requested to report
information about any serious incident related to
this equipment that occurs within the EU to the
manufacturer and the regulating authority of the
member country of residence.
‘Serious incident’ means any incident that directly or
indirectly led, might have led or might lead to any of
the following:
a) the death of a patient, user or other person.
b) the temporary or permanent serious deterioration of
a patient’s, user’s or other person’s state of health.
c) a serious public health threat.
 After reading this instruction manual, store where it
can be easily accessed for later reference.
 The actual stretcher purchased may di󰀨er from
detailed descriptions given in this instruction manual
due to product improvements.
 Values described for the operation range, dimensions, angles,
and mass may include some errors. Excluding special cases,

3SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
 Be sure to read these safety precautions beforehand to ensure proper
usage.
 The safety precautions described here are intended to ensure safe use of the product
and prevent personal injury and property damage. Precautions are classied by a
WARNING or CAUTION designation, which indicates the degree of hazard or
injury that could result from improper use. They are all important safety precautions
that must be strictly observed.
WARNING Indicates that improper handling by ignoring this indication could
cause death or serious injury (broken bones, pressure, or paralysis).
CAUTION
Indicates that improper handling by ignoring this indication could
cause light personal injury (bruises, wounds, or cuts) or property
damage.
Note: After reading this instruction manual, store it in a place that can be easily accessed for later

3SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
 Place the patient on the stretcher with his/her head and feet oriented in
the proper directions.
 Have the patient lie down on the stretcher with his/her head
positioned at the head end of the stretcher and feet at the foot end. If
the patient lies down the other way, he/she could accidentally release
the lock for the transfer board, which could cause him/her to fall o󰀨
and get injured.
 Lying down on the stretcher with the feet at the head end and the
head at the foot end induces an unnatural posture during stretcher
operation (mattress base angle) which may result in injury.
 Do not raise the backrest when a patient is lying face down or on their
side (in any posture other than lying face up).
 Attempting to force the patient to bend his/her legs, arms, or other bendable body parts too far or hard or
in the wrong direction could cause him/her to become injured.
 Do not stand up on the stretcher.
 There is a risk of injury caused by falling or toppling from the
stretcher. In particular, be careful with children.
 Do not crawl under or place your head, hands, or legs under the
stretcher.
 There is a risk of becoming caught between the moving part of the
stretcher and the frame or transfer boards, resulting in injury. Check
that obstacles are not located around the stretcher before operating it.
 Be careful moving the stretcher on a steep slope.
 The stretcher could tip over, causing an injury. Eliminate this risk by having more than two people work
together to move the stretcher or using other means as the circumstances require.
 Lock the casters at all times except when moving the stretcher.
 Otherwise, the stretcher could unexpectedly move when operators
attempt to transfer a patient to or from a bed, adjust the height, or
raise the backrest, which could lead to injury.
 To move the stretcher, depress the caster lock pedal (green) to unlock
the casters.
 Do not stand on the caster lock pedals.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher may break.

WARNING
 Do not attempt to repair or modify the stretcher yourself.
 This could cause abnormal operation, resulting in injury.
 Do not attempt to transfer a patient on the stretcher with the transfer
boards locked in the horizontal level position.
 The patient may fall o󰀨, the stretcher may tip over, or the
patient’s hand may hit the wall, resulting in an injury.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher
may break.
 When transporting a patient, make sure that he/she is secured in place
with the two pairs of restraint belts and that the transfer boards are in
the up position. The nurse should observe and attend to the patient at
all times while the patient is on the stretcher.
 Otherwise, the patient may fall o󰀨 the stretcher
and get injured.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the
stretcher may break.
 Make sure that the two pairs of restraining belts are being used to rmly
and securely secure the patient if using it with the two transfer boards
locked in the horizontal level position.
 Otherwise, the patient may fall o󰀨 the stretcher and get injured.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher may break.
 Do not transfer a patient to a bed with the transfer boards locked in the
horizontal level position.
 Otherwise, the patient may fall o󰀨 the stretcher and get
injured.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher
may break.
 After raising the transfer boards or locking them in the horizontal level
position, use the safety lock and conrm that they are properly locked
(Green in the indicator window).
 If not properly locked (red shows), the transfer boards may lower and the patient may fall o󰀨 and get
injured.
 Instruct patients not to hold onto the transfer boards while being
transferred or while the transfer boards are being adjusted.
 The patient’s hand may hit the wall during transport or get caught during the operation of the transfer
boards, resulting in an injury.

3SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING
 Do not sit on the transfer boards or lean against them.
 The stretcher may tip over, resulting in an injury or stretcher damage.
 Do not use the transfer board as a support to stand up.
 Otherwise, the patient may fall o󰀨 the stretcher and get injured.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher may
break.
 Do not use the transfer mattress as a stretcher.
 Using the transfer mattress as a stretcher may damage it, resulting in
an injury.
 Do not use the stretcher in a strong electromagnetic eld such as near a
MRI.
 Using the stretcher in such an area may cause abnormal operation which may result in an injury or
stretcher damage or deformation.
 Keep away from heaters.
 Do not use heaters near the stretcher. Otherwise, the stretcher may be damaged or deformed, or even
catch re.
 Use care when handling the gas spring.
 Gas spring is used for the backrest lever. If you attempt to disassemble or incinerate the gas spring, the
gas spring could explode and gas could spray out, possibly causing injury.
 Inspect the stretcher regularly.
 Depending on the frequency of use and the environment, the product will exhibit wear and deterioration.
Regularly inspect for parts looseness, the operation of moving parts, and the presence of damage
(see p. 27 and 28).
 For accessories to be directly mounted on the stretcher, such as an IV
Pole or mattress, use only accessories approved by Paramount Bed.
 The use of products other than the specied suitable products or products from other companies could
create unintended gaps, cause interference between products, or lower stability, resulting in injury or
failure of the stretcher.
 Do not grab the stretcher or lean against them.
 The stretcher may tip over causing an injury or the stretcher may break.

CAUTION
 Do not climb on the back section base in the raised position.
 The back section base is subject to excessive weight, and could be
damaged or deformed.
 Do not move the stretcher by holding onto the transfer board only.
 Otherwise, this will apply a large force to the transfer board and there
is a risk of damage or deformation.
 Do not place objects weighing more than 10kg on the transfer board in
the horizontal level position.
 Doing so could cause an injury, malfunction, or deformation.
 Avoid transporting the stretcher over uneven oors.
 It may result in stretcher damage, deformation, or malfunction. If this
is unavoidable, move the stretcher as slowly as possible.
 Do not excessively turn the height adjusting handle.
 If the handle is continuously turned until it reaches its limit, it will
suddenly become heavy. Do not turn the handle beyond its working
range. Forcibly turning the handle beyond its working range may
result in handle damage or malfunction.
 When the stretcher is not in use, store it with the casters facing in.
 Otherwise, people may trip over a caster and fall down or get injured.
 Do not place objects weighing 10kg or more on the tray.
 The tray could be deformed or damaged.
 Do not place objects on the area marked with “X” (see the following
gure) on the tray. Also, be careful not to allow objects to protrude
outside the tray.
 When the stretcher height is lowered, objects
on the tray or the tray itself could be caught
between the frame and tray, causing damaged or
deformation.
 To wash the transfer mattress, take out the padding and wash the
surface material only.
 Otherwise, the surface material and padding may get damaged.
 Do not apply a spray-type insecticide directly on the stretcher.
 Otherwise, there is a risk that the solvents contained in the insecticide could damage, discolor, or dissolve
the stretcher casters or other resin parts. Pay due attention to this; otherwise, there is a risk of unexpected
injury due to damaged or dissolved parts.

4PRECAUTIONS FOR USAGE
 To avoid possible malfunctions, do not install the stretcher in
the following locations.
 Locations exposed to direct sunlight
 Locations with strong electromagnetic elds (near MRI machines, etc.)
 Locations near heat sources such as a stove or heater
 Location having a high oxygen concentration
 Locations exposed to excessive amounts of water vapor or oil vapor
 Locations that tend to be exposed to high temperatures or humidity, low temperatures or dry
conditions
Note: The optimum ambient conditions for the stretcher are as follows.
Temperature 0°C to 40°C / Humidity 30%RH to 90%RH
 Locations with high concentrations of dust, smoke, salt, sulfur, or corrosive substances
 Locations with poor ventilation (while storing, etc.)
 Locations exposed to vibrations or shocks (including during transportation)
 Locations where the oor is weak
 Locations where the oor is not level
