Take care to prevent a paent from falling off the stretcher even when side-rail are
raised.
The paent may fall off the stretcher from the end of side-rail or the head end or the foot end of
the stretcher, resulng in injury.
If the paent bends forward over the side-rail, and may fall off the stretcher, resulng in injury.
It is not effecve enough to prevent the paent from falling off the the stretcher when raising the
back secon base.
Be especially careful to check paents who might act in unexpected ways or cannot maintain their
posture independently.
When leaving the stretcher area temporarily taking your eyes off the paent, check the
maress base angle and the stretcher height, and raise the side-rail.
If the physician, nurse or caregiver leaves the stretcher area or temporarily takes their eyes off the
paent, adjust the maress base angle and the stretcher height according to the paent’s condion,
and raise the side-rail because there is a slight chance that the paent could fall off the stretcher.
As necessary, use the restraint belts.
Use the stretcher in the correct orientaon.
Lying down on the stretcher with the feet at
head end and the head at the feet end induces
and unnatural posture during stretcher operaon
(base angle) which may result in injury.
Do not perform any angle adjustment when the paent is lying face down or on their
side (in any posture other than lying face up).
Pay aenon to the casters which face outward.
If the casters face outward, the paent may fall over the casters, resulng in injury.
As necessary, force the casters face inward when locking the casters.
Lock the casters at all mes except when moving the stretcher.
There is a risk of injury caused by extending the joints backward.
The stretcher may move when a paent gets into or out of the stretcher, resulng in an unexpected
injury.
When moving the stretcher, operate the caster operaon pedal and unlock the casters. (See P. 21)
When moving the stretcher, watch up your step
Your leg may bump into the caster operaon pedal or your foot may get caught by a caster, resulng
in injury.

Do not use the bed when the maress is not placed.
The body part (Fingers of hands or legs) may get caught in the gap between the maress bases,
resulng in injury.
Make sure to using sheets when use the maress, so the paent does not contact directly with
maress
