1. Introduction

This symbol on the device or the package indicates that disposal of the
device after its lifecycle could harm the environment. Do not dispose of the
unit (or batteries) as unsorted municipal waste; it should be taken to a
specialized company for recycling. This device should be returned to your
distributor or to a local recycling service. Respect the local environmental rules.

this device into service. If the device was damaged in transit, do not install or use
it and contact your dealer.
2. Safety Instructions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children shall be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
This appliance is for indoor use only. Keep this device away from rain,
moisture, splashing and dripping liquids. Never put objects filled with
liquids on top of or close to the device. Do not submerge in water or any
other liquid.
This device is not suitable for outdoor use, use in barns, stables, and
similar locations.
Do not use the appliance in locations where flammable vapour or explosive
dust is likely to exist.
Do not crimp the power cord and protect it against damage.
Warning! If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid any hazard.
Always disconnect mains power when the device is not in use or when
servicing or maintenance activities are performed. Handle the power cord
by the plug only.
Never insert metal objects in the device: risk of electroshock.
Touching live wires can cause life-threatening electroshocks.
Do not stare into the UV lamp. Permanent eye damage may occur.

3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman® Service and Quality Warranty on the last pages of
this manual.
Keep this device away from dust and extreme temperatures.
Protect this device from shocks and abuse. Avoid brute force when
operating the device.
Familiarise yourself with the functions of the device before actually using it.
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety reasons. Damage
caused by user modifications to the device is not covered by the warranty.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the device in an
unauthorised way will void the warranty.
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this manual is not
covered by the warranty and the dealer will not accept responsibility for any
ensuing defects or problems.
Keep this manual for future reference.
4. Operation
Refer to the illustrations on page 2 of this manual.
Flying insects are attracted by the UV light [D], which is mounted behind a high-
voltage electrical grid [B]. When touching the grid, the insects are electrocuted
and fall into the collector [C].
1. Place or hang the insect killer in a dry location. Make sure the on-off
switch [A] is in the OFF position and plug the power cord into a suitable
mains outlet.
2. Switch on the insect killer by moving the on-off switch [A] to the ON position.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Warning! Never touch the metal grid with your bare hands. If you need to
clean the tray, follow the safety instructions carefully.
The cleaning frequency depends on the intensity of use. Check the tray of the
device at least once a week. Clean more often if necessary.

5.1 Discharging the Device before Maintenance
1. Unplug the device from the mains.
2. Use a screwdriver with an insulated handle. Make sure you hold the
screwdriver by the handle only.
3. Short-circuit the 2 wires of the inner metal grid by gently touching them
simultaneously with the metal shaft of the screwdriver. This may cause a
spark.
4. Repeat until no more sparks appear.
5.2 Cleaning the Device
1. Make sure the power switch [A] is in the OFF position and the power plug is
disconnected from the mains outlet before starting any maintenance activity.
2. Discharge the device.
3. Slide the insect collector tray [C] out of the device to dispose of dead insects.
4. Clean the insect killer regularly with a dry, clean cloth. Do not submerge in
any liquid.
5. Make sure that no dust accumulates on the UV lamps, as this will greatly
reduce their effectiveness.
6. Only use a plastic brush to clean the high-voltage grid. Brush gently to avoid
damage.
5.3 Replacing Lamps and Starters
When the lamps are worn, you must replace them with an identical type (see
Technical Specifications).
1. Make sure the power switch [A] is in the OFF position and the power plug is
disconnected from the mains outlet before starting any maintenance activity.
2. Discharge the device.
3. Remove the two screws of the device (indicated by the arrows in the
illustration on page 2).
4. Gently pull the outer grid; it will rotate around the screws at the bottom.
5. To remove a UV lamp, gently turn it a quarter turn and pull it upwards out of
the sockets.
6. Place a new UV lamp into the socket and turn it a quarter turn to secure it.
7. To replace a starter, turn it a quarter turn and pull it out of the socket.
8. Insert a new starter with the same specifications into the socket and turn it a
quarter turn to secure it.
9. Close the outer grid and fix the two screws.

1. Inleiding

Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als het na zijn
levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade kan toebrengen aan
het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele batterijen) niet bij het gewone
huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij een gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen
voor recyclage. U moet dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal
recyclagepunt brengen. Respecteer de plaatselijke milieuwetgeving.

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Dit toestel is niet geschikt voor gebruik door personen (kinderen
inbegrepen) met verminderde fysieke, zintuiglijke of geestelijke
capaciteiten of gebrek aan ervaring en kennis, tenzij zij onder toezicht
staan of instructie hebben gekregen over het gebruik van het toestel van
een persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor hun veiligheid.
Houd toezicht op kinderen om te voorkomen dat ze met het toestel spelen.
Dit apparaat is enkel geschikt voor gebruik binnenshuis. Bescherm het
toestel tegen regen, vochtigheid en opspattende vloeistoffen. Plaats nooit
objecten gevuld met vloeistof op of naast het toestel. Dompel nooit onder
in water of een andere vloeistof.
Het apparaat is niet geschikt voor gebruik buitenshuis, in schuren, stallen
en gelijkaardige plaatsen.
Gebruik het apparaat niet in plaatsen waar ontvlambare dampen of
explosief stof kan voorkomen.
De voedingskabel mag niet beschadigd zijn of ingekort worden.
Waarschuwing! Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, dan moet deze
door de fabrikant, diens servicedienst, of een gelijkwaardig bekwaam
persoon vervangen worden om gevaar te voorkomen.
Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact wanneer het toestel niet in gebruik is
of voordat u het toestel reinigt. Houd de voedingskabel altijd vast bij de
stekker en niet bij de kabel.
Steek nooit metalen voorwerpen in het toestel, om elektrische
schokken te vermijden. Raak geen kabels aan die onder stroom staan
om dodelijke elektrische schokken te vermijden.
Kijk niet naar de UV-lamp om permanente oogletsels te vermijden.

3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie achteraan deze
handleiding.
Bescherm het toestel tegen stof en extreme temperaturen.
Bescherm tegen schokken. Vermijd brute kracht tijdens de bediening
van het toestel.
Leer eerst de functies van het toestel kennen voor u het gaat gebruiken.
Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen aan het toestel.
Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht aan het toestel
valt niet onder de garantie.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De garantie vervalt
automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van bepaalde richtlijnen
in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor
defecten of problemen die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.
4. Gebruik
Raadpleeg de afbeeldingen op pagina 2 van deze handleiding.
Vliegende insecten zijn aangetrokken door het blauwe licht van de UV-
lampen [D] achter het hoogspanningsrooster [B]. Als ze het rooster
aanraken, worden de insecten geëlektrocuteerd en vallen ze in het
vergaarbakje [C].
1. Plaats of hang de insectenverdelger op een droge plaats. Plaats de
schakelaar [A] op OFF en steek de stekker in een geschikt stopcontact.
2. Schakel de insectenverdelger in door de schakelaar [A] op ON te plaatsen.
5. Reiniging en onderhoud
Waarschuwing! Raak in geen geval de metalen rooster aan met de blote
handen. Als u de lade wilt schoonmaken, volg de veiligheidsvoorschriften
nauwkeurig op.
De reinigingsfrequentie hangt af van hoe intensief het apparaat gebruikt wordt.
Controleer het vergaarbakje minstens eenmaal per week. Reinig het bakje vaker
indien nodig.
5.1 Het toestel ontladen voor het onderhoud
1. Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact.
2. Gebruik een schroevendraaier met een geïsoleerd handvat. Houd de
schroevendraaier steeds vast bij het handvat.

3. Sluit de 2 draden van de interne metalen rooster kort, door ze gelijktijdig aan
te raken met het metalen gedeelte van de schroevendraaier. Er kan een vonk
ontstaan.
4. Herhaal tot er geen vonken meer verschijnen.
5.2 Het toestel schoonmaken
1. Plaats de schakelaar [A] op OFF en trek de stekker uit het stopcontact
vooraleer u aan het onderhoud begint.
2. Ontlaad het toestel.
3. Schuif het vergaarbakje [C] uit de insectenverdelger en gooi de insecten weg.
4. Maak het apparaat regelmatig schoon met een droge doek. Dompel het
apparaat nooit in een vloeistof!
5. Ontstof de UV-lampen regelmatig om hun efficiëntie te garanderen.
6. Gebruik enkel een plastic borstel om de hoogspanningsrooster schoon te
maken. Borstel voorzichtig om schade te voorkomen.
5.3 Lampen en starters vervangen
Vervang een kapotte lamp door een identiek exemplaar (zie Technische
specificaties).
1. Plaats de schakelaar [A] op OFF en trek de stekker uit het stopcontact
vooraleer u aan het onderhoud begint.
2. Ontlaad het toestel.
3. Draai de twee schroeven los (zie de pijlen in de figuur op pagina 2).
4. Verwijder voorzichtig het buitenste rooster. Dit rooster draait rond de
schroeven onderaan.
5. Draai de UV-lamp een kwartslag en verwijder ze uit de fitting.
6. Plaats een nieuwe UV-lamp en draai ze vast in de fitting.
7. Draai de starter een kwartslag en verwijder hem uit de fitting.
8. Plaats een nieuwe starter en draai hem vast in de fitting.
9. Plaats het buitenste rooster terug en maak vast met de twee schroeven.

Ce produit est destiné à une utilisation à l'intérieur seulement. Protéger
l'appareil de la pluie, de l'humidité, d'éclaboussures et des projections

de le nettoyer. Tirer sur la fiche pour débrancher l'appareil ; non pas sur le
câble.
Ne jamais insérer un objet métallique dans le tue-insectes : risque
d'électrocution. Toucher un câble sous tension peut causer des
électrochocs mortels.
Ne pas fixer les ampoules UV du regard afin d’éviter les lésions oculaires
permanentes.

3. Directives générales
Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman® en fin de ce
mode d'emploi.
Protéger cet appareil contre la poussière et les températures
extrêmes.
Protéger l’appareil des chocs et de l'abus. Traiter l'appareil avec
circonspection pendant l’opération.
Se familiariser avec le fonctionnement de l’appareil avant de l’utiliser.
Toute modification est interdite pour des raisons de sécurité. Les dommages
occasionnés par des modifications par le client ne tombent pas sous la
garantie.
N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Un usage impropre annule d'office
la garantie.
La garantie ne se s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en négligeant
certaines directives de ce mode d'emploi et votre revendeur déclinera toute
responsabilité pour les problèmes et les défauts qui en résultent.
Garder ce mode d'emploi pour toute référence ultérieure.
4. Emploi
Se référer aux illustrations en page 2 de ce mode d'emploi.
Les insectes volants sont attirés par la lumière bleue des tubes UV [D] montés
derrière la grille à haute tension [B]. Les insectes qui viennent se poser sur
cette grille sont électrocutés. Le petit casier au bas du tue-insectes [C]les
récupère.
1. Placer ou suspendre le tue-insectes dans un endroit sec. Placer
l’interrupteur [A] en position OFF et brancher le tue-insectes sur le secteur.
2. Allumer le tue-insectes en plaçant l’interrupteur [A] en position ON.
5. Nettoyage et entretien
Avertissement ! Ne pas toucher la grille métallique avec les mains.
Suivre les instructions avec précision en cas de nettoyage du casier.
La fréquence de nettoyage dépend de l'intensité d'utilisation. Vérifier le casier au
moins une fois par semaine. Nettoyer plus souvent si nécessaire.
5.1 Déchargement de l’appareil avant l’entretien
1. Débrancher l’appareil du réseau.
2. Utiliser un tournevis isolé. Toujours maintenir le tournevis par le manche.
3. Court-circuiter les 2 câbles de la grille métallique interne en les touchant
simultanément avec la lame du tournevis. Une étincelle se produira.
4. Répéter jusqu’à ce qu’il n’y ait plus d’étincelles.

5.2 Nettoyage du tue-insectes
1. Placer l’interrupteur [A] en position OFF et débrancher le tue-insectes du
secteur avant de commencer l'entretien.
2. Décharger l’appareil.
3. Retirer le casier [C] du tue-insectes et jeter les insectes.
4. Nettoyer régulièrement l'appareil à l’aide d’un chiffon sec. Ne pas immerger
dans un liquide !
5. Veiller à dépoussiérer régulièrement les tubes UV afin d’assurer une efficacité
optimale.
6. Utiliser uniquement une brosse en plastique pour nettoyer la grille à haute
tension. Brosser doucement pour éviter de l'endommager.
5.3 Remplacement des tubes et des starters
Remplacer un tube usagé avec un tube identique (voir les Spécifications
techniques).
1. Placer l’interrupteur [A] en position OFF et débrancher le tue-insectes du
secteur avant de commencer l'entretien.
2. Décharger l’appareil.
3. Desserrer les deux vis (voir l’illustration en page 2).
4. Retirer doucement la grille extérieure. Cette grille tourne autour des vis au
bas de l’appareil.
5. Tourner le tube UV un quart de tour sur son axe. Retirer le tube de son socle.
6. Insérer un nouveau tube UV dans le socle et le fixer en le tournant un quart
de tour.
7. Retirer le starter en le tournant un quart de tour et en le retirant hors du
socle.
8. Insérer un nouveau starter et le fixer dans le socle.
9. Replacer la grille sur le tue-insectes et la fixer avec les deux vis.

nunca del propio cable.
Nunca introduzca un objeto metálico en el aparato: riesgo de
descarga eléctrica. Puede sufrir una peligrosa descarga eléctrica al tocar
un cable conectado a la red eléctrica.
No mire las lámparas UV para evitar lesiones oculares permanentes.

3. Normas generales
Véase la Garantía de servicio y calidad Velleman® al final de este manual del
usuario.
No exponga este equipo a polvo ni temperaturas extremas.
Proteja el aparato contra choques y golpes. Evite usar excesiva fuerza
durante el manejo.
Familiarícese con el funcionamiento del aparato antes de utilizarlo.
Por razones de seguridad, las modificaciones no autorizadas del aparato están
prohibidas. Los daños causados por modificaciones no autorizadas, no están
cubiertos por la garantía.
Utilice sólo el aparato para las aplicaciones descritas en este manual Su uso
incorrecto anula la garantía completamente.
Los daños causados por descuido de las instrucciones de seguridad de este
manual invalidarán su garantía y su distribuidor no será responsable de ningún
daño u otros problemas resultantes.
Guarde este manual del usuario para cuando necesite consultarlo.
4. Funcionamiento
Véase las figuras en la página 2 de este manual del usuario.
Luz azul de los tubos UV [D] montados detrás de la rejilla de alta
tensión [B] atraen a los insectos voladores]. Están electrocutados en cuanto
se pongan en esta rejilla. La pequeña bandeja de la parte inferior del aparato [C]
les recoge.
1. Ponga o cuelgue el aparato en un lugar seco. Ponga el interruptor [A] en la
posición OFF y conecte el aparato a la red eléctrica.
2. Active el aparato al poner el interruptor [A] en la posición ON.
5. Limpieza y mantenimiento
¡Advertencia! No toque la rejilla metálica con las manos. Siga
cuidadosamente las instrucciones al limpiar la bandeja.
La frecuencia de limpieza depende de la intensidad de uso. Controle la bandeja
por lo menos una vez a la semana. Límpiela más si fuera necesario.
5.1 Descargar el aparato antes del mantenimiento
1. Desconecte el aparato de la red.
2. Utilice sólo un destornillador con mango aislado. Mantenga el destornillador
siempre por el mango.
3. Cortocircuite los 2 cables de la rejilla metálica interna al tocarlos
simultáneamente con la hoja del destornillador. Se producirá una chispa.
4. Repita hasta que no se produzcan más chispas.

5.2 Limpiar el aparato
1. Ponga el interruptor [A] en la posición OFF y desconecte el aparato de la red
eléctrica.
2. Descargue el aparato.
3. Saque la bandeja [C] del aparato y deseche los insectos.
4. Limpie el aparato regularmente con un paño seco. ¡No sumerja el aparato en
un líquido!
5. Limpie el polvo regularmente de los tubos UV para asegurar una eficacia
óptima.
6. Utilice sólo un cepillo de plástico para limpiar la rejilla de alta tensión. Sea
cuidadoso al cepillar para evitar daños.
5.3 Reemplazar las lámparas y los arrancadores
Reemplace un tubo estropeado con un tubo del mismo tipo (véase
Especificaciones).
1. Ponga el interruptor [A] en la posición OFF y desconecte el aparato de la red
eléctrica.
2. Descargue el aparato.
3. Desatornille los dos tornillos (véase fig., p. 2).
4. Quite cuidadosamente la rejilla exterior. Esta rejilla gira alrededor de los
tornillos de la parte inferior del aparato.
5. Gire el tubo UV un cuarto de vuelta y quítelo del portalámparas.
6. Introduzca un nuevo tubo UV en el portalámparas y fíjelo al girarlo.
7. Saque el arrancador al girarlo un cuarto de vuelta y al sacarlo del
portalámparas.
8. Introduzca un nuevo arrancador y fíjelo en el portalámparas.
9. Reemplace la rejilla y fíjela con los dos tornillos.

Trennen Sie das Gerät bei Nichtbenutzung und vor jeder Reinigung vom
Netz. Fassen Sie dazu den Netzstecker an der Grifffläche an und ziehen Sie
nie an der Netzleitung.

Stecken Sie nie Metallobjekte in das Gerät: Stromschlaggefahr. Das
Berühren von unter Spannung stehenden Leitungen könnte zu
lebensgefährlichen elektrischen Schlägen führen.
Blicken Sie nie direkt in die UV-Lampen, um permanente Augenschäden zu
vermeiden.
3. Allgemeine Richtlinien
Siehe Velleman® Service- und Qualitätsgarantie am Ende dieser
Bedienungsanleitung.
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor Staub und vor extremen Temperaturen.
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor harten Stößen und schütteln Sie es nicht.
Wenden Sie bei der Bedienung keine Gewalt an.
Nehmen Sie das Gerät erst in Betrieb, nachdem Sie sich mit seinen Funktionen
vertraut gemacht haben.
Eigenmächtige Veränderungen sind aus Sicherheitsgründen verboten. Bei
Schäden verursacht durch eigenmächtige Änderungen erlischt der
Garantieanspruch.
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur für Anwendungen beschrieben in dieser
Bedienungsanleitung. Bei falscher Anwendung dieses Gerätes erlischt der
Garantieanspruch.
Bei Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachtung der Bedienungsanleitung verursacht
werden, erlischt der Garantieanspruch. Für daraus resultierende Folgeschäden
übernimmt der Hersteller keine Haftung.

4. Anwendung
Siehe Abbildungen, Seite 2 dieser Bedienungsanleitung.
Das blaue Licht der UV-Lampen [D] auf der Rückseite des
Hochspannungsgittter [B] ziehen Fluginsekten an]. Bei Berührung des
Gitters werden die Insekten durch Elektrisierung getötet und fallen in die
Schublade [C].
1. Installieren Sie das Gerät an einem trockenen Ort. Stellen Sie den
Schalter [A] auf OFF und stecken Sie den Stecker in die Steckdose.
2. Schalten Sie das Gerät ein, indem Sie den Schalter [A] auf ON stellen.
5. Reinigung und Wartung
Achtung! Berühren Sie nie das Metallgitter mit den bloßen Händen. Wenn
Sie die Schublade reinigen müssen, befolgen Sie dann die
Sicherheitsvorschriften sorgfältig.
