Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanleitung vor der ersten Verwendung sorgfältig durch!
Positionierungskeile sind Teil eines Produktprogramms, welches speziell zur Unterstützung beim Positionieren von
Pflegebedürftigen in Krankenhäusern und anderen medizinischen Einrichtungen des Gesundheitswesens sowie in
der häuslichen Pflege genutzt wird.
Das Produkt darf nur zu angegebenen Zweck und Bedingungen genutzt werden.
Die Hinweise in dieser Gebrauchsanleitung beziehen sich auf die pflegebedürftige Person, die gelagert wird, sowie
auf den Anwender, welcher die Lagerung vornimmt.
Nehmen Sie Kontakt mit uns auf, wenn Sie zusätzliche Informationen oder Hilfe bei der Anwendung des Petermann

Wird das Produkt gemäß den Sicherheitsvorschriften verwendet, beträgt die zu erwartende Produktlebensdauer
drei Jahre. Die effektive Lebensdauer kann jedoch, abhängig von der Häufigkeit und Intensität des Gebrauchs, der
Anzahl der Reinigungs- und Desinfektionsvorgänge, variieren.
Führen Sie regelmäßig eine Funktionskontrolle mit dem Produkt durch und beachten Sie unbedingt die
Sicherheitshinweise (siehe Punkt 2).
2Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG kennzeichnet eine mögliche Gefährdung, die zu Personen- oder Sachschäden
führen könnte.
Es liegt in der Verantwortung der Einrichtung / des Anwenders anhand der Gegebenheiten (Gewicht /
Gesundheitszustand des Pflegebedürftigen) und des Leistungsvermögens des Anwenders zu
beurteilen, ob ggf. mehrere Anwender für die Positionierung notwendig sind oder zusätzliche
Sicherungsmaßnahmen getroffen werden müssen.
Defekte Produkte dürfen nicht mehr verwendet werden.
Eine andere, artfremde Verwendung der Positionierungskeile ist nicht zulässig!
Achten Sie darauf, dass die Positionierung rückengerecht von den Anwendern ausgeführt werden.
Verwenden Sie keine spitzen Gegenstände zusammen mit den Positionierungskeilen, da dies zu
Beschädigungen der Produkte führen kann.
Die Anwendung von alkoholhaltigen Desinfektionsmitteln sollte vermieden werden. Farbige
Desinfektionsmittel (jodhaltige) können leichte Verfärbungen verursachen.

2.2 Funktionskontrolle
Auch Positionierungshilfen unterliegen einem natürlichen Alterungsprozess. Überprüfen Sie das Produkt regelmäßig
und sorgfältig und vor jedem Wiedereinsatz. Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Produkt in einem einwandfreien Zustand
ist und das Material und die Nähte nicht beschädigt sind. Überprüfen Sie diese Eigenschaften – am besten im
Vergleich mit einem neuen Produkt.
Defekte Produkte dürfen nicht mehr verwendet werden!
3Produktanwendung
3.1 Indikation und Wiedereinsatz
Die Indikationen können aufgrund der großen Einsatzmöglichkeiten an keinem bestimmten Krankheitsbild
festgemacht werden, da Positionierungshilfen für alle Anwendungen an Menschen mit Unterstützungsbedarf bei
Positionierungen geeignet sind. Zur Anwendung bei folgenden Diagnosen kann das Produkt unterstützend
eingesetzt werden:
Unterstützung bei Positionierungen
Stabilisierung bei Positionierungen
Druckentlastung bei Positionierungen
Erweiterung der Einsatzgebiete in Kombination mit Drehlaken/Gleitmatte
Das Produkt ist für den Wiedereinsatz geeignet.
Führen Sie vor dem Wiedereinsatz unbedingt eine gründliche Funktionskontrolle (siehe 2.2) sowie eine Reinigung
bzw. Desinfektion des Produktes durch. (siehe 5)

3.2 Kontraindikation
Kontraindikationen können an keinem bestimmten Krankheitsbild festgemacht werden. Unter Berücksichtigung der
Sicherheitshinweise (Punkt 2), darf bei folgenden Patientenbeschwerden das Produkt nicht angewandt werden:

Erhöhung des Auflagedruckes an Wunden oder Dekubitusgeschwüren Verschlechterung des
Hautzustandes
Nicht ausreichende Stabilisierung Entlagerung des Pflegebedürftigen
Falsches Einlegen Entlagerung des Pflegebedürftigen
Bitte kontaktieren Sie uns in diesen Fällen, so dass wir Ihnen alternative Lösungen anbieten können.
3.4 Einsatzbereiche
Das Produkt kann in Krankenhäusern und anderen medizinischen Einrichtungen des Gesundheitswesens sowie
in der häuslichen Pflege eingesetzt werden.
3.5 Illustration der Anwendung
3.6 Anwendung
Die Positionierungskeile wurden für eine aktivierende und stützende Positionierung von pflegebedürftigen
Menschen entwickelt. Durch den variablen Einsatz kann je nach geplanter pflegerischer Maßnahme, eine ziel-
und zweckorientiere Positionierung durchgeführt werden. Die Anwendung der Positionierungskeile hat sich
besonders in der Nacht bewährt, um eine möglichst störungsarme Nachtruhe des Pflegebedürftigen zu
gewährleisten.
Auch bei bestmöglicher Lagerung sollte der Pflegebedürftige, je nach Gefährdungsgrad, regelmäßig
umgelagert bzw. die Lagerung überprüft werden.

Die Petermann Positionierungskeile sind ein Medizinprodukt der Klasse I und entsprechen der EU-Regulation
2017/745 des Europäischen Parlaments und des Rats vom 05.04.2017 für Medizinprodukte, auch als MDR
bezeichnet.
Die Petermann GmbH ist zertifiziert nach DIN EN ISO 13485 durch den TÜV Süd, Medizinprodukte -
Qualitätsmanagementsystem für den Geltungsbereich Design und Entwicklung, Produktion und Vertrieb von
Hilfsmitteln für immobile Menschen.

5Reinigung, Pflege und Desinfektion
Alle Petermann Umlagerungs- und Transferhilfen können feucht gereinigt werden. Verwenden Sie warmes Wasser
und ein mildes Reinigungsmittel. Wischen Sie das Produkt ggf. mit einem feuchten Tuch ab und lassen Sie es
anschließend gut trocknen. Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen keine scheuernden oder bleichenden Mittel und keine
scharfkantigen Gegenstände.
Wenn erforderlich, empfehlen wir eine Wischdesinfektion z.B. mit dem Produkt Trionic®(DGHM/VAH Zulassung,
weitere Informationen auf Anfrage). Alternativ zu unserem ausgewiesenen Desinfektionsmittel Trionic®können wir
auch folgende Desinfektionsmittel zur Wischdesinfektion empfehlen:

Bei mit * gekennzeichneten Mitteln nach Abschluss der Desinfektion mit einem mit Wasser getränkten Tuch
nachwischen, um Rückstände bzw. Schichtaufbau zu vermeiden. Bitte beachten Sie grundsätzlich bei der
Wischdesinfektion die Gebrauchsanleitungen der Hersteller.
Beachten Sie unbedingt den Pflegehinweis am Etikett jedes Produktes so wie die Angaben auf der jeweiligen
Gebrauchsanleitung.

Bed Wedges are part of a product line which is used specifically to assist with positioning of patients in hospitals
and other health care facilities, as well as in home care.
The product may only be used for the specified purpose and under the specified conditions.
The information in this user manual is for the patient who is being transferred and moved, as well as the user
performing the transfer / position change.

If the product is used in accordance with the safety instructions, then the expected product service life is three
years. However, the effective service life may vary depending on the frequency and intensity of use and the number
of cleaning and disinfection cycles.
Perform regular function checks on the product and be sure to observe the safety information (see item 2).
2Safety information
WARNING indicates a potential danger which could lead to personal injury or material damage.
It is the responsibility of the organisation / the user to determine, on the basis of the circumstances
(weight / health condition of the patient) and the capabilities of the user, whether several users may
be required for the transfer and/or whether additional safety measures are required.
Defective products may no longer be used.
Any use of the Bed Wedges other than the intended use is prohibited!
Ensure that the positionings are performed by the users in a back-friendly manner.
Don't use any pointy objects in combination with the non-slip cushion, since this could result in
damage to the product.
The use of disinfectants containing alcohol should be avoided. Coloured disinfectants (containing
iodine) may cause slight discolouration.

2.2 Function check
Transfer products are also subject to a natural ageing process. Inspect the equipment regularly and carefully, in
particular before each use. Ensure that the product is in sound condition and that the material and the seams are
not damaged. Check these properties - ideally in comparison to a new product.
Defective products may no longer be used!
3Using the product
3.1 Indication and further use
Due to the wide range of possible applications, the indications cannot be tied to a specific clinical picture, since
positioning aids are suitable for all applications involving people who require assistance. The product can be used
in support of the following diagnoses:

Further applications in combination with turn sheets / sliding mats.
This product may be reused.
Before reusing the product, be sure to perform a thorough function check (see item 2.2) as well as cleaning or

3.2 Contraindications
Contraindications cannot be tied to a specific clinical picture. Under consideration of the safety information (see
item 2), the product may not be used if the patient has any of the following conditions:

The Bed Wedges were developed for an activating and supporting positioning of patients. Their versatility
allows for goal-oriented and purposeful positioning in accordance with the planned care measures. The use
of Bed Wedges has proven particularly effective at night, in order to ensure that the patient's sleep is as
uninterrupted as possible.
Even with the best possible positioning, the patient should be repositioned and/or the positioning should be
checked regularly in accordance with the risk level.

4Product marking / CE
The Petermann Bed Wedges are a Class I Medical Device and meets the EU-Regulation 2017/745 of the
European Parliament and Council dated 05.04.2017 for medical devices, also called MDR.
Petermann GmbH is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13485 by TÜV Süd, Medical Devices - Quality
management systems applicable to the design and development, production and distribution of aids for
people of limited mobility.
5Cleaning, care and disinfection
All Petermann repositioning and transfer aids can be wet cleaned. Use warm water and a mild cleaning agent. If
applicable, wipe the product off with a moist cloth and then let it dry thoroughly. Don't use any scouring or bleaching
agents or any sharp-edged objects for cleaning.
When necessary, we recommend wipe disinfection with the product Trionic®(DGHM/VAH approval, further
information upon request). As alternatives to our proven disinfectant Trionic®, we can also recommend the following
disinfectants for wipe disinfection:

When using products marked with an *, wipe down again using a water-soaked cloth after disinfection has been
completed, in order to remove residues and prevent build-up. For wipe disinfection, please be sure to always follow
the instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Always follow the care instructions on the label of every product as well as the information in the respective user
manual.

2.2 Funktionskontroll
Överflyttningsprodukter utsätts också för en naturlig åldrandeprocess. Inspektera utrustningen regelbundet och
noggrant, framför allt inför varje användning. Säkerställ att produkten är i gott skick och att materialet och
sömmarna inte är skadade. Kontrollera dessa egenskaper – helst i jämförelse med en ny produkt.
