These instructions explain how to correctly use your equipment. Only certain
techniques and uses are described.
The warning symbols inform you of some potential dangers related to the use of your
equipment, but it is impossible to describe them all. Check Petzl.com for updates and
additional information.
You are responsible for heeding each warning and using your equipment correctly. Any
misuse of this equipment will create additional dangers. Contact Petzl if you have any
doubts or difficulty understanding these instructions.
1. Field of application
Personal protective equipment (PPE) used for fall protection from height.
Adjustable belay lanyard.
WARNING: the adjustable belay lanyard is not an energy absorber for self-belayed
progression on a via ferrata (EN 958 standard), nor is it a lanyard for work at height (EN
354 standard). This product must not be pushed beyond its limits, nor be used for any
purpose other than that for which it is designed.
Responsibility

Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently dangerous.
You are responsible for your own actions, decisions and safety.
Before using this equipment, you must:
- Read and understand all Instructions for Use.
- Get specific training in its proper use.
- Become acquainted with its capabilities and limitations.

Failure to heed any of these warnings may result in severe injury or death.
This product must only be used by competent and responsible persons, or those
placed under the direct and visual control of a competent and responsible person.
You are responsible for your actions, your decisions and your safety and you assume
the consequences of same. If you are not able, or not in a position to assume this
responsibility, or if you do not fully understand the Instructions for Use, do not use this
equipment.
2. Nomenclature

Principal materials: nylon, high-modulus polyethylene, aluminum.
3. Inspection, points to verify
Your safety depends upon the integrity of your equipment.
Petzl recommends a detailed inspection by a competent person at least once every
12 months (depending on current regulations in your country, and your conditions of
usage). WARNING: your intensity of use may cause you to inspect your PPE more
frequently. Follow the procedures described at Petzl.com. Record the results on
your PPE inspection form: type, model, manufacturer contact info, serial number or
individual number, dates: manufacture, purchase, first use, next periodic inspection;
problems, comments, inspector’s name and signature.
Before each use
Verify that the rope adjuster has no deformation, cracks, marks, wear, corrosion...
Check the safety stitching and look carefully for any loose or cut threads.
During use
It is important to regularly monitor the condition of the product and its connections to
the other equipment in the system. Make sure that all items of equipment are correctly
positioned with respect to each other.
4. Compatibility
Verify that this product is compatible with the other elements of the system in your
application (compatible = good functional interaction).
Equipment used with your CONNECT ADJUST belay lanyard must meet current
standards in your country (e.g. EN 12275 carabiners).
The SPIRIT SL or Sm’D RL carabiner is recommended for use with the rope adjuster
on the lanyard. VERTIGO, Am’D and ATTACHE have also been tested and are
compatible. If using any other connector, carry out a compatibility test (correct
installation and functioning, and check for any possibility of poor positioning).
5. Preparation
Install a locking connector on the fixed arm and in the rope adjuster on the adjustable
arm. Verify that the connector is correctly installed in the rope adjuster (see diagram).
Install the positioning ring to help improve connector positioning.
Installation on the harness
Make a girth hitch on the harness attachment point. Use only a girth hitch to connect
the belay lanyard to the harness.
6. Working Principle
Extending the belay lanyard: tilt the rope adjuster to allow the rope to run.
Shortening the adjustable arm: pull on the reserve rope.
Positioning: adjust the length of the adjustable arm to keep it taut.
7. Precautions for use
Keep your lanyard taut; stay below the anchor.
To function, the rope adjuster must be able to rotate freely in the connector. Verify that
the rope adjuster is correctly positioned in the connector when you connect to the
anchor.
WARNING: any other equipment attached to the same connector as the rope adjuster
(your foot loop, for example) can cause the rope adjuster to malfunction. Beware of the
reserve rope that can drag, get caught, and unbalance the user.
Any force applied directly between the two lanyard ends can damage the connection-
point stitching and endanger the user.
Poor positioning that prevents locking
WARNING: with certain connectors, the rope adjuster can rotate and get stuck
in a position that prevents the rope from blocking. Verify that the rope adjuster is
correctly positioned in the connector when you connect to the anchor and before
you put your body weight on the belay lanyard.
Knot
A knot can reduce the cord’s initial strength by half.
Sharp edges
Beware of sharp edges that can damage the lanyard.
Ice and moisture
Under wet or icy conditions, locking performance may be reduced.
8. Additional Information
This product meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on personal
protective equipment. The EU declaration of conformity is available at Petzl.com.
The melting point of high-modulus polyethylene (140° C) is lower than that of nylon
and polyester.
When to retire your equipment:
WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one use,
depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage (harsh
environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures, chemicals...).
A product must be retired when:
- It is over 10 years old and made of plastic or textiles.
- It has been subjected to a major fall or load.
- It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.
- You do not know its full usage history.
- When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or
incompatibility with other equipment...
Destroy these products to prevent further use.

en auto-assurage sur via ferrata (norme EN 958), ni une longe pour les travaux en
hauteur suivant la norme EN 354. Ce produit ne doit pas être sollicité au-delà de ses
limites ou dans toute autre situation que celle pour laquelle il est prévu.

3. Contrôle, points à vérifier
Votre sécurité est liée à l’intégrité de votre équipement.
Petzl conseille une vérification approfondie, par une personne compétente, au
minimum tous les 12 mois (en fonction de la réglementation en vigueur dans votre
pays et de vos conditions d’utilisation). Attention, l’intensité de votre usage peut vous
amener à vérifier plus fréquemment votre EPI. Respectez les modes opératoires
décrits sur le site Petzl.com. Enregistrez les résultats sur la fiche de vie de votre EPI :
type, modèle, coordonnées du fabricant, numéro de série ou numéro individuel, dates
: fabrication, achat, première utilisation, prochains examens périodiques, défauts,
remarques, nom et signature du contrôleur.
Avant toute utilisation
Vérifiez sur le bloqueur l’absence de déformations, fissures, marques, usures,
corrosion...
Vérifiez les coutures de sécurité : attention aux fils coupés ou distendus.
Pendant l’utilisation
Il est important de contrôler régulièrement l’état du produit et de ses connexions
avec les autres équipements du système. Assurez-vous du bon positionnement des
équipements les uns par rapport aux autres.
4. Compatibilité
Vérifiez la compatibilité de ce produit avec les autres éléments du système dans votre
application (compatibilité = bonne interaction fonctionnelle).
Les éléments utilisés avec votre longe de relais CONNECT ADJUST doivent être
conformes aux normes en vigueur dans votre pays (mousquetons EN 12275 par
exemple).
L’utilisation du SPIRIT SL ou Sm’D RL est préconisée avec le bloqueur de votre longe
de relais. VERTIGO, Am’D et ATTACHE ont aussi été testés et sont compatibles. Pour
l’utilisation de tout autre connecteur, faites un test de compatibilité (mise en place et
fonctionnement corrects et étude des possibilités de mauvais positionnement).
5. Préparation
Installez un connecteur à verrouillage sur le brin fixe et dans le bloqueur du brin
réglable. Vérifiez le placement correct du connecteur dans le bloqueur (voir dessin).
Installez la bague de maintien pour améliorer le positionnement des connecteurs.
Installation au harnais
Réalisez une tête d’alouette sur le point d’attache du harnais. Seule la tête d’alouette
doit être utilisée pour relier la longe de relais au harnais.
6. Principe de fonctionnement
Agrandir la longe de relais : faites basculer le bloqueur pour permettre le défilement
de corde.
Raccourcir le brin réglable : tirez sur la réserve de corde.
Positionnement : ajustez la longueur du brin réglable pour rester en tension.
7. Précautions d’utilisation
Gardez votre longe de relais tendue, restez en aval de l’ancrage.
Pour fonctionner, le bloqueur doit pouvoir pivoter librement dans le connecteur. Vérifiez
le bon placement du bloqueur dans le connecteur au moment de vous connecter à
l’ancrage.
Attention, tout autre élément connecté dans le même connecteur que le bloqueur (par
exemple votre pédale) pourrait entraver son fonctionnement. Attention à la réserve de
corde qui peut traîner, se coincer et déséquilibrer l’utilisateur.
Tout effort direct entre les deux bouts de longe peut endommager la couture du point
de connexion et mettre en danger l’utilisateur.
Mauvais positionnement empêchant le blocage
Attention, avec certains connecteurs le bloqueur peut rester bloqué après avoir
pivoté, dans une position empêchant le blocage de la corde. Vérifiez le bon
placement du bloqueur dans le connecteur au moment de vous connecter à
l’ancrage et avant de vous mettre en tension sur la longe de relais.
Nœud
Un nœud peut diviser par deux la résistance initiale de la corde.
Arêtes tranchantes
Attention aux arêtes tranchantes qui risquent d’endommager la longe de relais.
Gel et humidité
Sous l’effet de l’humidité ou du gel, le blocage peut être moins performant.
8. Informations complémentaires
Ce produit est conforme au règlement (UE) 2016/425 relatif aux équipements de
protection individuelle. La déclaration de conformité UE est disponible sur Petzl.com.
La température de fusion du polyéthylène haute densité (140° C) est inférieure à celle
du polyamide et du polyester.
Mise au rebut :
ATTENTION, un événement exceptionnel peut vous conduire à rebuter un produit
après une seule utilisation (type et intensité d’utilisation, environnements d’utilisation :
milieux agressifs, milieux marins, arêtes coupantes, températures extrêmes, produits
chimiques...).
Un produit doit être rebuté quand :
- Il a plus de 10 ans et est composé de plastique ou de textile.
- Il a subi une chute ou un effort important.
- Le résultat des vérifications du produit n’est pas satisfaisant. Vous avez un doute sur
sa fiabilité.
- Vous ne connaissez pas son historique complet d’utilisation.
- Quand son usage est obsolète (évolution législative, normative, technique ou
incompatibilité avec d’autres équipements...).
Détruisez ces produits pour éviter une future utilisation.

via ferrata (EN 958), ani spojovací prostriedok pre práce vo výškach (norma EN 354). Zaťaženie tohto
výrobku nesmie prekročiť uvedenú hodnotu pevnosti, výrobok nesmie byť používaný iným spôsobom,
než na ktorý je určený.

3. Prehliadka, kontrolné body
Vaša bezpečnosť závisí na neporušenosti vášho vybavenia.
Petzl odporúča hĺbkové revízie odborne spôsobilou osobou najmenej jedenkrát za 12
mesiacov (v závislosti na aktuálnej legislatíve vo vašej krajine, a na podmienkach použitia). Postupujte
podľa krokov uvedených na Petzl.com. Výsledky revízie zaznamenajte vo vašom formulári pre revízie
OOP: typ, model, kontakt na výrobcu, sériové alebo kusovej číslo, dátum: výroby, predaja,
prvého použitia, ďalšie periodické revízie; problémy, poznámky, meno a podpis inšpektora.
Pred každým použitím
Skontrolujte, či lanová zverte nevykazuje žiadne deformácie, vrypy, opotrebenie, koróziu ...
Skontrolujte bezpečnostné švy a zamerajte sa na vytiahnutá alebo pretrhnutá vlákna.
Počas používania
Je dôležité pravidelne kontrolovať stav výrobku a jeho spojenie s ostatnými prvkami systému. Vždy
sa presvedčte, ak sú všetky súčasti systému navzájom v správnej polohe.
4. Zlučiteľnosť
Overte si zlučiteľnosť tohto výrobku s ostatnými prvkami vášho systému pri danom použití
(zlučiteľnosť = dobrá súčinnosť).
Vybavenie používané s vaším spojovacím prostriedkom CONNECT ADJUST musí spĺňať
súčasné normy pre vašu krajinu (napr. EN 12275 karabíny).
Pre použitie s lanovou zverí odporúčame karabínu SPIRIT SL. Karabíny VERTIGO, Am'D a
ATTACHE boli tiež testované a sú kompatibilné. Ak použijete inú spojku, vykonajte skúšku
zlučiteľnosti (správna inštalácia a funkcie, a kontrola možnosti nesprávnej polohy).

5. Príprava
Inštalujte karabínu s poistkou zámku na pevnú slučku a do lanové zverí na nastaviteľné slučke.
Skontrolujte správnu inštaláciu karabíny v lanovej prenesených (pozri. Nákres). Inštalujte polohovacie
krúžok, ktorý napomáha dosiahnuť správnej polohy karabíny.
Pripojenie k postroji
Pomocou líščí slučky do pripojovacieho bodu úväzku. Pre pripojenie spojovacieho prostriedku k
úväzku používajte iba líščej slučku.
6. Funkcia
Predĺženie spojovacieho prostriedku: naklopte lanovou zverte a nechajte lano preklzávať.
Skrátenie nastavovacie slučky: zatiahnite za rezervné lano.
Polohovanie: nastavte dĺžku nastaviteľné slučky tak, aby bola neustále pod napätím.
7. Bezpečnostné opatrenia
Spojovací prostriedok udržujte napnutý a zostávajte pod kotviacim bodom.
UPOZORNENIE: akékoľvek ďalšie vybavenie pripojené do rovnakej karabíny ako lanová zverí (napr.
vaše stúpačka), môže vyradiť funkciu lanové zverí. Pozor na rezervné lano, ktoré sa môže
zachytiť a vychýliť užívateľa z rovnováhy.
Uzly
Uzol na šnúre znižuje jej uvedenú pevnosť o polovicu.
Ostré hrany
Pozor na ostré hrany, ktoré môžu poškodiť slučku.
Ľad a vlhkosť
Vo vlhkých a ľadových podmienkach môže byť blokovacia funkcia znížená.
8. Doplnkové informácie
Teplota tavenia vysoko modulárneho polyetylénu (140 °) je nižšia ako u polyamidu, či polyesteru.
Kedy vaše vybavenie vyradiť:
POZOR: niektoré výnimočné situácie môžu spôsobiť okamžité vyradenie výrobku už po prvom
použitiu, to závisí na druhu, intenzite a prostredie v ktorom je výrobok používaný (znečistené
prostredie, ostré hrany, vysoké teploty, chemikálie, atď.).
Výrobok musí byť vyradený ak:
- Je staršia ako 10 rokov a vyrobený z plastu alebo textílií.
- Bol vystavený ťažkému pádu alebo veľkému zaťaženiu.
- Neprejde periodickú prehliadkou. Máte akékoľvek pochybnosti o jeho spoľahlivosti.
- Nepoznáte jeho úplnú históriu používania.
- Sa stane zastaraným vzhľadom k legislatíve, normám, technikám alebo zlučiteľnosti s ostatným
vybavením, atď.
Taký produkt znehodnoťte, aby ste zamedzili jeho ďalšie použitie.

Na chyby materiálu a vady vzniknuté vo výrobe. Nevzťahuje sa na vady vzniknuté: bežným
opotrebovaním a roztrhnutím, oxidáciou, úpravami alebo opravami, nesprávnym skladovaním,
nedostatočnou údržbou, nedbanlivosťou, nesprávnym použitím.
