-Plastic trim tool,
-10mm socket and wrench
-Side cutters,

-10 x self adhesive pads,
-3 x microphone cable clamps,
-Loom tape,
-adhesive promoter,
Dispose of supplied:

2Build instructions
2.1 Unpacking
1 Unpacking the navigation kit:
Take the installation kit and unpack
the parts. Be careful with the staples
in the bags. Especially with the fascia
plate!
2 Take the Navigation Unit (n°: AVIC-
F860BT) and unpack the parts.
3 Discard:
- Installation guide
- Non UK quick start guide
- 6 x countersunk screws, (not the 6
screws Panhead screws in the
bag, as you will need them)
- Power harness
- 1 x USB extension
- Cage

2.2 Cable Preperation
1 Microphone:
Unpack microphone cable, ensure
you twist the cable as you unwind
it from its coil.
Discard the microphone plastic U
clip: Not the 1 x adhesive pad!
2 Peel one side of microphone pad
cover and centrally adhere to
microphone foot.
Using a black permanent marker
colour the edges of the adhesive
pad, ensure all edges are black
3 Measure 65cm from the
microphone capsule and fold the
excess cable.
Make sure you leave a 65cm tail
to the microphone right angled
jack plug and then cable tie the
excess bunch as shown.

4 GPS antenna cable:
Make the length of the GPS cable
90 cm by pulling out one loop
from the green plug end of the
cable. Then secure excess by
putting two cable ties on the
ends.
5 Don’t forget to put the instruction
manual with CD etc into the glove
box.

2.3 Vehicle strip down
1 Ensure ignition is not operated during
installation and is switched off prior to
performing any installation work.
Remove Radio Bezel with suitable trim
tool and unclip any Loom connections

2 Remove 6 x PH2 screws to remove
radio.
Disconnect radio harnesses, remove
radio from dash.
3 Disconnect all wire harness from the
radio.
4 Remove instrument cluster bezel 2 x
PH2 screws then the 3x instrument
cluster screws.

5 Un-plug and remove instrument
cluster.
Forester/XV Armrest For STI skip to section 15
6 Carefully, begin to unclip the gear
gaiter Housing trim from the back.
This should loosen the silver plastic
trim pieces
7 Using a trim tool, carefully unclip and
remove the 2 silver trim pieces.

8 Carefully unclip the Gear gaitor from
its housing trim
With the Gaitor removed, proceed to
disconnect the plugs from the
underside of the gaitor housing trim
Feed the gaitor through the hole in
the trim and remove from the vehicle
9 With the trim panel removed, remove
the 2 uncovered screws securing the
rear arm rest section in place
10 Slide both seats forward and remove
the screw caps from the rear of the
armrest section, Remove the
uncovered 10mm bolts either side of
the arm rest

11 Unclip the handbrake gaiter from the
armrest section
12 Unclip the front of the armrest section
from its mounting point
13 Pivot the Arm rest section backwards
to gain access to the underside of it.
Remove all plugs and cable clips from
underneath.
With the arm rest section free,
remove it from the vehicle and store
safely

14 Fold over the original USB and AUX
cables and cable tie against the
adjacent harness to secure
STI Armrest

Carefully, unclip and remove the
handbrake gaiter.
Remove the concealed screw
16 Remove the 2 x Phillips screws
underneath the carpet cover in the
armrest storage pocket

17 Carefully unclip the front of the arm
rest console section, and pivot the
arm rest section back.
Disconnect all connections and loom
clips, and remove the arm rest section
from the vehicle and store safely.
18 Unscrew and remove the gear knob
Using suitable trim tool, carefully
unclip the gear surround trim.
Once free, remove the surround and
store safely.

3Installation
3.1 Component Installation
1 Locate Accessory AUX harness
under the driver’s side dashboard
and plug to the CAN IF AUX
extension harness.
2 Pass AUX extension harness up to
the instrument cluster aperture as
shown.
3 Using the one large cable tie,
secure the AUX harness under the
dash as shown.

4 Continue AUX extension harness
cable run, folllowing the
instrument cluster harness to the
radio aperture.
Ensure harness is passed behind
the dash support beam as shown.
5 Pass GPS antenna cable excess
bunch behind the instrument
cluster back plate.
Feed GPS antenna back through
presented hole as shown.
Feed the GPS antenna green plug
to the radio aperture.
6 Place excess Microphone bunch to
the left of the instrument cluster
aperture as shown.
Feed the right angled jack to the
radio aperture.

7 Feed the microphone capsule to
the right beside the GPS excess
and out of the instrument cluster
aperture.
Cable tie the AUX harness, GPS
excess and mic cable to the OE
harness as shown.
Ensure the cable tie is passed
through the GPS excess bunch
loop you created earlier.
8 Using a cable tie, secure the AUX
Harness, GPS cable and
Microphone excess together as
shown.
9 Note:
Pass the microphone capsule
through the centre opening of the
fabric dust guard above the
steering column the dust guard
should sit over the cable
Fully extend and lower steering
wheel position

10 Using adhesive promoter or plastic
cleaner. Clean the positions shown
on the steering column cover and
inside the instrument cluster
aperture.
Centrally adhere a 1" strip of Loom
tape to the steering column, to
secure the microphone cable
centrally in place
NB: it may prove easier to
centrally locate the microphone
position after the instrument
cluster has been re-installed.
11 Using loom tape, Secure the
Microphone cable to the rear and
bottom of the instrument cluster
12 Using a plastic cleaner, clean the
top of the instrument cluster, then
adhere the GPS antenna ground
plate to top of instrument cluster
as shown.

13 Reconnect instrument cluster
harness and gently reposition
cluster whilst mounting the GPS
antenna on the plate. The GPS
antenna is magnetic and will hold
its position on the ground plate
when mounted there.
14 Care point:
Mount the instrument cluster
ensuring the microphone cable is
located centrally under the cluster
Replace the removed instrument
cluster screws, bezel and bezel
screws.
15 Centrally mount the microphone if
you have not already.

16 Main Navigation Harness
Plug in steering wheel adaptor CD-
HW-SUB.006
**Disconnect and remove the
Black loop over cable on the
CD-HW-SUB.006- Failure to do
this will result in steering
wheel controls not functioning
correctly**
17 Connect Pink from CAN Option
Harness to Pink Speed Pulse input.
Connect Violet cable to
Violet/White (reverse input).
The Park Brake cable is pre-wired,
and is triggered when the vehicle
speed reduces below 8KPH
