Overview
This user s guideexplains howto operate IVS-100 from acomputer. Basically, the user s
guideiswrittentobereadonthecomputer display.However,usersmight consider
printing it out toaccesseasilyand readit before youoperateIVS-100.
Introduction
VideoServer isaninexpensive fullyscalablesurveillancetechnology.BecauseIVS-100
can beplugged intoyourexistingcomputernetworkinfrastructure,you willpotentially
save thousands ofdollars on unnecessarycabling.
IVS-100is accessible viatheLANor Internetconnection. Connectyour VideoServer
directlyto acomputernetworkorDSL modem, andwith astandardWebbrowseryou
getinstant,ondemand videostreams. Withinminutesyoucanset up IVS-100tocapture
avideo sequencetoaPC. Livevideo imagecanbeuploadedtoawebsitefortheworld
to see ormadeavailableonlytoselect userson the network.

Alarm I/O Connector
IVS-100 provides aterminal block with 8pins of connectors located onthecenter of the
back panel.Thereare3 pins fortwo alarminputsand 5 pinsare for alarm output. The
I/Oconnectors are physical interfacetosense and/or activatealarm signalstoavariety
ofexternal sensors or alarms. Pleaserefer tothe Appendix Bin thismanualfor more
information.
CF Card Socket
TheCFcard socketislocatedontheright side ofthe backpanelofIVS-100. Usercan
plugaCFmemorycard into this socket tostorethealarmorscheduledimages.Thisis
veryusefulto keepthe evidenceof alarms or scheduledimages forreference.
FactoryDefault Reset
Thisbuttonishiddeninthepinholeabove the Alarm I/O connector.Please refertothe
AppendixAinthis manual for more information.
Microphone
IVS-100 s hasbuilt-in aninternal microphone. Thismicrophone isalso hidden inthe
pinholeabovetheAlarm I/Oconnector.
Statusand10/100M Ethernet LEDs
LED standsfor Light-EmittingDiode.TheStatusand EthernetLEDs arelocated on the
rightsideoftheback panelofIVS-100.The StatusLED willturngreenwhilesystemis
bootingupsuccessfully.
EthernetLEDisused toindicatethe status ofNetworkconnection.Whilenotany
connectiontoIVS-100,theLEDwill beoffandflash orangewhilesome oneaccesses
this Video Server.
DC-in andVideo-in Jack
TheDCpowerinput andvideo-inlocatedonthebackpanelofVideoServer.The input
power is12VDC. Notethat supplythepowertoIVS-100with standard power adapter
included in package. Otherwise,theimproperpower adapter maydamage theunitand
resultindanger.Install avideooutputdevice and connectit tovideo-in jack.
Audio-in Jack
Audio-in jack allowsanydevicethat couldinputaudio. Forexample,microphone,CD
player, etc.
RS485
This is fortheP/Tcamera. After d+ andd-are correctlyconnectedtoP/Tcamera,
users couldcontrol the camerabyclickingthedirectionarrow onthe web server of

Hardware Installation
1.Attachvideosource to Video Server
To useVideo Server, usermust supplyvideosignaltothisdevice. Typical,user
mayutilizestandardcamera,doomcamera,bulletcamera, PT camera,Speed
doomcamera, orothers asthe videosource. ConnecttheBNCterminal of
camera to IVS-100 s videoinput and makesure to poweronyour camerafirst.
2.AttachAudiosource to VideoServer (option)
If userneeds notonlyvideostreambut also audiostream,thentheaudio source
is attachedtoVideoServer atthetime. Usermayutilizelineoutput ofstandard
camera or audioamplifier, orothers as theaudiosource. Connect theRCA
terminal of audio device slineoutput toIVS-100 sRCA input and makesure to
poweronyour cameraor audio devicefirst.
3.Plug anEthernetcable into VideoServer
Connect anEthernet cabletotheLAN socket locatedonIVS-100 s frontpanel andattach it tothe
network.
4.Connecttheexternalpower supplyto Video Server

Connecttheexternal power supplytotheDCpowerconnectorattached onthe
extensioncablefromIVS-100.Note:usethepower adapter,12VDC,includedinthe
package andconnect the other endtowalloutlet forACpower.
When youhave installedIVS-100 well,thestatusLEDwillturngreen.Itmeansthe
systemisbooting upsuccessfully. Furthermore, if youhaveaproper network connection,
and accesstoIVS-100,the10/100M LAN LED willflashorange

When userswould liketoapplyacamerawith P/T function, theyusuallyneed toconnect
their communicationport (forcamera control)throughRS485.AfterRS-485 was
correctlyconnectedtoD+ and D-,theremoteuserscouldcontrol the camerathrough

Logging in to Homepage
Before Operation
Install theIP Addressof Video Server
When youinstalledyourVideoServer onyour LAN environment,you mayexecute
IPEditV3todiscoverVideo Server sIPaddress.
IPCam FinderProgram(IPEditV3)isusedto scan theInstalled Video Server,setting
IVS-100Name,IPaddress settings.
Usingyour mouse to select anyone ofIVS-100within your LANenvironment,you can
findout itsIP address and other IPparametersas follows:
1.Edit the NameofthisVideoServer
2.UpdatetheIPaddress of thisVideo Server.(192.168.0.20)
3.UpdatetheGatewayAddress.(0.0.0.0)
4.UpdatetheNetwork Mask (255.255.255.0)

5.Default HTTPPort1 numberis80.
6. ‘Submit it.
AfterSubmit, theIPinformation ofthisVideo Server willbeupdated.
Install IVS-100 with anADSL Router
IfIVS-100was installed onthe LANwith anADSLrouter,thenIVS-100canget a
dynamic IP address from the DHCPserver.However,if IVS-100 wants to be access from
theWAN,IVS-100 IPaddressneedstobe setupas fixedIP,alsotheVirtualServer
functionofADSLrouterneeds tobesetupasfollows:
1.SetupIVS-100 asFixed IP, such as 192.168.0.20.
2.Entertheadministratorpage ofADSLrouter.(Usezonet ASDLrouterasan
example).
3.Enterthe Virtual ServerPage.
a.Setupthe mappingof HTTPPort (80) to 192.168.0.20.
Then IVS-100can be accessfromWAN bytheADSLWAN IPAddress.
First time uses IVS-100
IVS-100webpagecommunicates with IVS-100 using anActiveXcontrol.TheActiveX
control mustbe downloadedfromIVS-100 andinstalledon your PC. Your Internet
Explorersecuritysettings mustallowforthewebpagetoworkcorrectly. Touse IVS-100,
user must setuphisIE browser as follows:
From yourIE browse è”Tools”è”Internet Options…” è”Security”è”Custom
Level…”.please setupyour “Settings”as follow.

Access IVS-100 from the Internet Explorerforthe
first time
1. Startthe webbrowseron the computerandtypetheIPaddressofIVS-100 you want
tomonitor as below:

2. Type inyourloginnameand password under “USERNAME”and “PASSWORD”
textbox.
For thefirsttime use (default value),input the
UserName: admin
Password:
That s, typein “admin”onthe “USERNAME”as adefaultnameandleavePASSWORD
textboxblank. Click “OK”buttonto startthe main menu.
Now,you logintoIVS-100 as afull-authorized administrator.Youcan enter “Setting”to
change the passwordandsetup “Administrator”or “User”authority.Pleasereferto
“Setting”è“User”and “IP Filter”.
3. The IEWebPagewill displaythe “Security Warning”window,select “Yes”toinstall
and runtheActiveX controlinto your PC.

Forordinaryuser usage, “Setting”, “Trigger”,and “Capture”will benotavailable.On the
rightsideofthe screen, therearelots ofcontrolsandfunctionbuttons.Ifthe
administratorturnsoff “Remotecameracontrol”,then thosecontroland functionbuttons
willnotbe availableaswell.
Fortherestofthisuser guide,itis assumed thatthe “Remotecameracontrol”willbe
turnedonfornormaloperation.
Logging inas an Administrator
Ifyoulog inIVS-100 astheAdministrator,you canperformall thesettings provided
withinthe software.The Administrator maybe loggedinat anytime,regardlessofthe
number oftheusers being accessed.
