1a. Press the ON/OFF switch (B). The ON lamp (C) and the
steam pressure indicator lamp (D) will both light up.
2a. Wait for the pressure indicator lamp (D) to extinguish
(about 10 minutes). Vaporetto is now ready for use.
3a. The steam sprayer (2) has a safety button (2A) that pre-
vents accidental activation of the steam delivery system by a
child or other persons unaware of how the device works. To
prevent the accidental output of steam press the button (2A).
To resume delivery press the button (2A) in the opposite
direction and operate the steam control lever (4) (Fig. 5).
The first jet of steam may contain some water droplets, due
to imperfect thermic stabilisation inside the flexible hose. We
would therefore advise that the first jet of steam is played
onto an old cloth until a constant steam flow is obtained.
Note: The steam pressure indicator (D) may go on and off
from time to time during use of Vaporetto, this is quite nor-
mal
VERY IMPORTANT WARNING: If you press the steam request
lever (4) when the appliance is still under pressure, even if it is
off and not connected to the wiring system, you may still expe-
rience steam escaping from the flexible hose. So when you
switch off the appliance, before storing it, it is neccessary to
press the lever (4) till the steam flow is exhausted.

This appliance is equipped with the patented safety cap, which
prevents opening of the boiler as long as there is any pressure
remaining inside. This is an important and indispensable safety
device, and it is necessary to follow certain procedures when re-
filling the boiler.
When no more steam comes out of the appliance, do as follows:
• Switch off the machine at the on/off switch (B).
• Press the steam request button (4) on the steam gun (2) so as
to fully exhaust the steam supply from the boiler.
• Disconnect the power supply cable (F) from the mains.
• Wait for a few minutes to allow the generator boiler to cool
down.
• Unscrew anti-clockwise the patented safety cap (A).
• When cool, proceed to carefully refill the boiler as described in
paragraph 1 of the section “Preparation for Use”. If refilling the
generator when not completely cooled, we recommend that
you then CAREFULLY pour only very small quantities of water
at each pouring, so as to avoid spitting from the boiler. Cover
exposed skin whilst filling.

WARNINGS
• For cleaning leather, wood or delicate fabrics, consult the sur-
face manufacturers instructions. Clean only by using the hand
gun at a safe distance together with a soft cloth and always do
a test on a non visible part of the item first or on a sample.
Allow the test area to dry completely before observing results
and effects on surface or colour before proceeding to clean
further areas, making sure that exactly the same distance and
technique are applied as for the test area.
DO NOT USE ON DRAYLON, VELVET OR OTHER SIMILAR
PILE OR DELICATE SURFACES
• For cleaning wood surfaces (furniture, doors etc.) or brickwork
floors take great care as a too long application of the steam
could alter the waxed appearance, the shine or the colour of
the surfaces cleaned. We therefore recommend you to apply
the steam on such surfaces only for brief periods or to clean
these surfaces using a cloth first held in the steam.
• When cleaning glass surfaces in particularly low temperatures
preheat the glass holding the hand gun at minimum 50cm
distance from the surface to be cleaned.
• For the care of your plants vaporise at a minimum distance of
50 centimetres.
STEAM GUN (2)
The handgun can be used directly, without connecting the bru-
shes, on all spots requiring a stronger, closer treatment.
The more resistant the stain, the closer you should hold the gun,
the steam pressure and temperature being higher at the source.
You should however always wipe with a dry cloth (or a slightly
abrasive sponge-if the spot is a difficult one to remove) after
using the gun.
The steam gun is particularly efficient at:
• breaking down rug and carpet stains before they are treated
with the large brush;
• cleaning stainless steel surfaces, panes, mirrors, enamelled
surfaces;
• cleaning hard-to-reach corners, such as stairs, window sills,
door posts;
• cleaning knobs of cookers, and water tap basis
• cleaning window shutters, heaters, car interiors;
• spraying plants (from a distance);
• removing odours and creases from clothes.
To reach higher points, the steam gun can be connected to one
or both extension tubes.
LARGE BRUSH (8)
To wash floors, put a clean, dry cloth under the brush and swing
back and forth without applying any pressure. Use the other side
of the cloth when the first one gets dirty. Use the brush directly
without the cloth on particularly dirty or incrusted areas and in
spaces between the tiles: swing the brush sideways to detach
the dirt, then attach cloth to brush to pick up the dirt . On difficult
corners or obstinate stains use the steam gun and then wipe the
treated surface with a cloth. On vertical washable surfaces, wal-
lpaper and ceilings, fasten a dry cloth on the brush and proceed
as for the floor. We advise to use a sponge cover (e.g. an old
bath towel)
Vaporetto is ideal for cleaning hygienically both synthetic and
wool rugs as well as for most types of carpet. Move the brush
towards your feet on the surface without the cloth to loosen the
dirt, then fasten a cotton cloth to the brush, fixing it on the clips
(8A), then wipe again the surface to pick up the dirt in the cloth.
Fold a cotton cloth over 2 or 3 times according to the length and
resistance of the pile. Move the brush rapidly on the pile without
applying any pressure, moving the brush to and fro and laterally
without concentrating for a long time in the same place. The tre-
atment can be repeated as frequently as you wish over time, as
drying very quickly on most surfaces. In case of particularly dirty
or full of detergents pile, do not insist for a long time; the results
will be evident after a number applications of Vaporetto over
time. Obstinate stains may require the direct use of the handgun
(from a distance of 5-10 cm) prior to the above indicated treat-
ment, then clean the stain with a cloth.
SMALL BRUSH (12)
To connect the small brush to the sheath or to the extension
tubes, it is necessary to connect first the adapter for small
accessories (5), after which the accessory can be fitted
directly onto the adapter.
The small brush is used whenever the big brush is too big or
impractical to be used.
The small brush can be used for:
• furnishing fabrics (after testing on invisible parts-see WAR-
NINGS above at start of “TIPS FOR BETTER UNIT PERFOR-
MANCE”. DO NOT USE ON DRALON, VELVET OR OTHER
SIMILAR PILE OR DELICATE SURFACES.
• small window surfaces
• tiles and other small surfaces
To clean wood (doorposts, floors etc) do not point the steam
directly but cover the big or small brush with a double-folded cot-
ton cloth.
For furniture cleaning direct the steam jet onto a dry cotton cloth,
and then clean with the cloth. The warm moisture on the cloth
traps the dust, spots and the static electricity so that the furnitu-
re stays clean longer as there is no detergent film for new dust
to stick to..
The following two accessories can be applied to the small brush:
12A – Cloth for small brush: Fit the cloth over the small brush
and clean the surfaces to be treated.
12B – Window-cleaning tool for small brush: Apply the tool to
the small brush (without the cloth (12A)) as shown in Figure 8.
Window-cleaning is carried out in two stages:
• Deliver of steam onto the surface to be cleaned, by opera-
ting the steam delivery lever (4), to dissolve the dirt;
• Pass the window-cleaning tool over the surface to remove
the dirt, without delivering any more steam.
LANCE (6)
To connect the lance to the sheath or to the extension tubes, the
adapter for connecting small accessories (5) must be fitted first,
after which the accessory can be connected directly to the adap-
ter. The lance can be used to direct the flow of steam towards
hidden corners that are difficult to reach with the steam sprayer.
It is ideal for cleaning radiators, door and window jambs, sanita-
ry fixtures and shutters. It is an extremely useful and indispensa-
ble accessory. The following accessories can be fitted to the
lance:
6A – Curved tip for lance: suitable for reaching even more inac-
cessible points, thanks to its curved shape.
6B - Small round brush and 6C - Large round brush: suitable
for removing caked dirt from very narrow surfaces such as coo-
ker burners, roller shutters, joints between tiles, sanitary fixtures,
etc. It is possible to choose the most suitable brush depending
on the size of the surface to be cleaned.
To connect accessories 6A-6B or 6C to the lance (6), simply fit
these accessories onto the tip of the lance exerting a slight pres-
sure (Fig.9).
