Showing Content
During your meeting, you may want to show
content (such as slides, a spreadsheet, or
another document) that is stored on your
laptop. The easiest way to do that is to bring
the laptop into the RPX or TPX room and
connect it to the VGA and audio cable on the
main table.
To show the content on your laptop to
other conference participants:
1. Access the VGA and audio cable, which is
located in the cable tray in the center of
the main table.
2. Connect the VGA connector on this cable
to the VGA Out connector on your laptop.
Note that some laptops require you to
enable VGA output (such as by pressing
Shift-F5). Refer to your laptop
documentation for more information.
3. If needed, connect the audio connector on
the VGA and audio cable to the Audio
Line Out connector on your laptop.
4. Display the content on your laptop screen
and then touch Content on the
Touch Panel.
As soon as you share the content, the
content appears on the tabletop content
displays. In TPX HD 306M rooms, content
may also appear on an auxiliary content
display.
To stop showing content:
¾Touch Content on the Touch
Panel.
If you are not planning to use your laptop
to show content for the rest of the
conference, you can simply disconnect
the cables from your laptop instead.

Telepresence
Experience™
Reference
Conducting a successful meeting in a RealPresence Experience (RPX™) or Telepresence
Experience (TPX™) room is easy. Because you don’t have to manage cameras, microphones,
speakers, remote controls, and other equipment, you can be free to concentrate on making your
meeting as effective as possible. Below are some simple tips to help you take advantage of the
extraordinary video and audio in the room:
Video Tips
•The cameras can capture images up to the end of each table, and are designed for
participants that are seated. To remain onscreen, sit at one of the designated seats and try to
refrain from standing.
•Do not sit in front of the table seams. If you do, your image will look “split” to the far-site
participants.
•The primary participants in the meeting should sit at the center seats at the main table.
•Remember that all movements, expressions, and gestures are visible to everyone.
•Your IP address and the name of the far site appear on the Touch Panel Home screen when
you are in a video call.
Audio Tips
•You do not have to direct your speech to a certain location or speak louder than normal.
Simply speak in your normal tone of voice.
•Because of the microphone sensitivity, you should refrain from sidebar conversations during
meetings.
•Whenever you are in the room, remember that the microphones may be on. Always check if
the microphones are muted before beginning any private conversations.
•If the far site is muted, the Far Site Muted icon appears on the Touch Panel Home
screen.
•When you are in a video call, a horizontal bar on the Touch Panel Home screen indicates the
audio level.
Room Maintenance Tips
•Do not allow anyone other than Polycom certified technicians access to the electronics rack,
the cabling, or the RPX dark room.
•Do not touch the display screens, the cameras, or the Ceiling Microphone Arrays. If you
inadvertently touch these and compromise the video or audio, contact the Help Desk as
described in the Getting Help section.
•Do not power on or power off any of the equipment in the room. If you need any equipment
powered on, contact your system administrator.
