Problem Improper insertions of batteries into the 8020/8030 handsets or dual/quad chargers
will result in damage to the product.

Description If battery packs are not properly inserted and removed from the SpectraLink
8020/8030 Wireless Telephones and chargers, damage such as bending or breaking
may occur to the battery contacts on the handset or chargers or to the battery pack
plastics which may prevent a battery from properly seating and remaining engaged
in the handset during normal use. Damage to the battery contacts will cause
problems with the battery contacts in the charger or handset from making proper
contact with the battery pack, resulting in intermittent or permanent power/charging
issues.
Resolution Properly inserting the battery pack into the handset, dual charger and quad charger
will prevent damage to the battery pack. Battery packs must always be used
following the proper insertion process.

Insert bottom of battery first. Ensure that the three tabs along the bottom of the
battery pack line up with the three notches in the handset’s battery cavity.

Press down on the top of the battery pack until there is an audible “click” indicating
the battery is fully engaged into the handset.

The battery pack should only be removed from the handset by depressing the
battery retaining clip at the top of the battery and lifting the battery out of the
handset. (Note: handsets should always be powered off prior to removing the
battery pack.)
Inserting the battery pack into a dual charger:

Insert the bottom of the battery first. Ensure the three tabs along the bottom of the
battery pack line up with the three notches in the battery charging cavity of the dual
charger’s rear slot.

Press down firmly on the top of the battery pack until an audible “click” is heard
and the LED on the front of the dual charge illuminates to indicate charging has
begun.

Once the LED on the front of the charger goes out the battery pack is fully charged
and can be removed by depressing the battery retaining clip and lifting the battery
pack out of the charger.

charger.

and the LED next to the battery charging cavity on the quad charger illuminates to
indicate charging has begun.

Once the LED next to the battery charging cavity on the charger goes out the
battery pack is fully charged and can be removed by depressing the battery
retaining clip and lifting the battery pack out of the charger.
Improper insertion of the battery pack will result in damage to the battery pack,
handset, dual charger and/or quad charger and constitutes abuse of the product
voiding any remaining warranty.
