Information about these operating instructions
You made a good choice with the purchase of this product PondoStar Set 30.
Prior to commissioning the unit, please read the instructions of use carefully and fully familiarise yourself with the unit.
Ensure that all work on and with this unit is only carried out in accordance with these instructions.
Adhere to the safety information for the correct and safe use of the unit.
Keep these instructions in a safe place! Please also hand over the instructions when passing the unit on to a new
owner.
Intended use
The use of the PondoStar Set 30 halogen spotlight, in the following text termed unit, is exclusively intended for fountain
systems and ponds at a water temperature of between +4°C and +35°C and up to an immersion depth of 1 meter, as
well as for use out of the water. Ensure that the safety transformer is only operated at ambient temperatures of -10°C
to +40°C and at a voltage coinciding with the information on the type plate.
Use other than that intended
Danger to persons can emanate from this unit if it is not used in accordance with the intended use and in the case of
misuse. If used for purposes other than that intended, our warranty and operating permit will become null and void.
Safety information
Hazards to persons and assets may emanate from this unit if it is used in an improper manner or not in accordance
with its intended use, or if the safety instructions are ignored.
This unit can be used by children from the age of 8 and by persons
with physical, sensory or mental impairments or lack of experience
and knowledge, as long as they are supervised or instructed on how
to use the unit safely and are able to understand the potential haz-
ards. Do not allow children to play with the unit. Do not allow children
to clean or maintain the unit without close supervision.
Correct electrical installation
The combination of water and electricity can lead to danger to life and limb, if the unit is incorrectly connected or
misused.
Attention! Danger of electric shock. Ensure that the cable connection points and their surroundings are dry.
The transformer and the plug connectors of the power cables supplied are not water-tight, but only rain and splash-
proof. Do not route or fit in the water.
Protect the plug connection from moisture. The safety transformer must have a minimum distance to the pond edge of
2 m. Protect the connection cable when burying to avoid damage. Only use cables approved for outside use. Ensure
that the power connection cable cross section is not smaller than that of the rubber sheath with the identification
H05RN-F. Extension cables must meet DIN VDE 0620. Only use cables when unwound prior to use. Electrical installa-
tions in garden ponds and swimming ponds must meet the national and international regulations valid for installers.
Compare the electrical data of the supply with those on the unit type plate. This data must agree.
Never operate the unit if the cable or housing are defective! Disconnect the power! Do not carry or pull the unit by the
connection cable.
Only use the unit with the attendant safety transformer contained in our scope of delivery. Never open the unit housing
or its attendant components, unless this is explicitly mentioned in the operating instructions. Always disconnect the
power supply of all units located in water and of this unit prior to performing work on the unit! For your own safety,
consult a qualified electrician if you have questions or encounter problems!

Set-up and start-up
The unit is supplied fully assembled as a complete set containing three spotlights, including light bulbs (A1).
Attention – Risk of fire! When set up above the water level, maintain a safety distance of at least 50 cm from
combustible material. Do not cover the unit.
Position the unit such that it does not present a hazard for anybody. Ensure a safe seating. Connect the power plug of
the spotlight to the socket of the transformer/transformer supply cable (A2). Connect the transformer plug to the mains
socket (A3) and check the spotlight function.
Replacing the lamp glass and the bulb
Adhere to the safety instructions! Disconnect the power! Press the lamp out of the decorative rock from the rear (B5),
remove residual water. Ensure that no moisture can enter the unit. Unscrew union nut (B1), remove glass (B2) and O
ring (B3), check and, if necessary, replace, remove the bulb (B4) from the housing.
Insert new bulb (do not touch, use a cloth or similar). Reassemble the unit in the reverse order. The lamp is fixed in the
decorative rock by means of the rubber ring (B5). Reconnect to the power supply and check function.
Wearing parts
Bulbs are wearing parts and are excluded from the warranty.
Cleaning
Adhere to the safety instructions! Disconnect the power! To disassemble the unit, carry out the work steps as specified
under 'Replacing the bulbs'. Ensure that no moisture can enter the unit. Only use water and a soft brush.
Repair
Neither the transformer nor the spotlights can be repaired in the event of damage to the cables or the housing and
have to be replaced.
Disposal
Dispose of the unit in accordance with the national legal regulations.

Guarantee conditions
PfG grants a 2 year guarantee from the date of sale on proven material and manufacturing faults. Prerequisite for our
guarantee is the presentation of the purchase receipt. Our guarantee will become null and void if the unit is misused,
electrically or mechanically damaged by inappropriate use and improper repair by non-authorised workshops. Repairs
are reserved for workshops authorised by PfG or by PfG itself. In the case of warranty claims, please return the defec-
tive unit or part freight paid to PfG together with a description of the fault and the purchase receipt. PfG reserves the
right to invoice repair costs. PfG is not liable for transport damage. Any damage must be claimed against the carrier.
Further claims of whatever type, especially consequential damage, are excluded. This guarantee does not affect the
final customer’s claims against the dealer.
