Do not remove anti-tip wheels.
Avoid exposure to rain, snow, ice, salt, or standing water whenever possible.
Maintain and store in a clean and dry condition.
Use only AGM or Gel-Cell batteries to reduce the risk of leakage or explosive
conditions..
Maximum weight capacity.
Place unit on level ground and stand to one side when changing from drive mode
to freewheel mode or freewheel mode to drive mode.
Locked and in drive mode.
Unlocked and in freewheel mode.
Wear safety goggles.
Do not place the scooter in freewheel mode on a decline or incline.

Do not connect an extension lead to the AC/DC converter or the battery charger.
Contact with tools can cause electrical shock.
Removal of grounding prong can create electrical hazard. If necessary, properly
install an approved 3-pronged adapter to an electrical outlet having 2-pronged plug
access.
Do not use a cell phone, walkie/talkie, laptop, or other radio transmitter while
operating.
II. SAFETY
Do not allow unsupervised children to play near the Travel Scooter while the
batteries are charging.
Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old and
new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the same time.
Keep your hands away from the tyres when driving. Be aware that loose fitting
clothing can become caught in drive tyres.

extensivevarietyofproductstobestfittheindividual needs of theTravelScooter user. Please beaware that the
finalselection and purchasingdecisionregardingthe typeofTravel Scooter tobeusedis theresponsibilityofthe
Travel Scooter userwho is capable ofmaking such adecision and his/herhealthcare professional (i.e.,medical
doctor,physicaltherapist,etc.).
ThecontentsofthismanualarebasedontheexpectationthatamobilitydeviceexperthasproperlyfittedtheTravel
Scootertotheuser andhasassistedtheprescribing healthcareprofessionaland/ortheauthorised PrideProviderin
theinstructionprocessfor the use of the product.
Therearecertainsituations,includingsomemedicalconditions,wheretheTravelScooteruserwillneedtopractice
operatingtheTravelScooterinthe presence of atrainedattendant.Atrainedattendant can bedefinedasafamily
memberorcareprofessionalspeciallytrained inassistingaTravelScooteruserin variousdailylivingactivities.
AsyoubeginusingyourTravelScooterduringdailyactivities,youwillprobablyencountersituationsinwhichyou
willneedsomepractice.Simplytakeyourtimeandyouwillsoon beinfullandconfidentcontrolasyoumaneuver
throughdoorways,onand off lifts, up and down ramps, andovermoderateterrain.
Below are some precautions, tips, and other safety considerations that will help you become accustomed to
operatingtheTravelScooter safely.
MODIFICATIONS
Pridehas designedandengineered yourTravelScooter toprovidemaximum mobilityandutility.Some accesso-
riesare availablefromyourauthorised PrideProviderto furthercustomiseyourTravelScootertobetter suityour
needs and/or preferences. However, under no circumstances should you modify, add, remove, or disable any
feature,part,or function ofyourTravelScooter.
WARNING! Do not modify your Travel Scooter in any way not authorised by Pride. Do not
use accessories if they have not been tested or approved for Pride products.
REMOVABLE PARTS
WARNING! Do not attempt to lift or move your Travel Scooter by any of its removable
parts, including the armrests, seat, or shroud.
MANDATORY! Do not operate your new Travel Scooter for the first time without completely
reading and understanding this owner’s manual.

PRE-RIDE SAFETY CHECK
GettoknowthefeelofyourTravel Scooterand itscapabilities.Priderecommendsthatyouperformasafetycheck
beforeeachusetomakesureyourTravelScooteroperatessmoothlyandsafely.
PerformthefollowinginspectionspriortousingyourTravel Scooter:
!Checkfortheelectricalconnections.Makesuretheyaretightandnotcorroded.
!Checkthebrakes (freewheel lever in drivemode).
!Checkbatterycharge.
Ifyoudiscover a problem, contact your authorised PrideProviderforassistance.
WEIGHT LIMITATIONS
YourTravelScooterisratedforamaximumweightcapacity.Refertothespecifications tableforthisinformation.
MANDATORY! Stay within the specified weight capacity for your Travel Scooter. Exceeding
the weight capacity voids your warranty. Pride will not be held responsible for injuries and/
or property damage resulting from failure to observe weight limitations.
WARNING! Do not carry passengers on your Travel Scooter. Carrying passengers on your
Travel Scooter may affect the centre of gravity, resulting in a tip or a fall.
INCLINE INFORMATION
Moreand more buildings have rampswith specified degrees ofinclination, designed foreasy and safeaccess.
Somerampsmay have turning switchbacks(180-degreeturns)thatrequire you to havegoodcorneringskillson
yourTravelScooter.
!Proceedwithextremecautionasyou approach the downgrade of a ramp or other incline.
!Takewide swingswithyourTravelScooteraroundany tightcorners.Ifyou dothat,theTravel Scooter’srear
wheelswillfollowawidearc,notcutthecornershort,andnotbumpintoorgethunguponanyrailingcorners.
!Whendriving down a ramp, keeptheTravel Scooter’s speed adjustment set tothe slowest speed settingto
ensurea safely controlleddescent.
!Avoidsuddenstops and starts.
Whenclimbinganincline,trytokeepyourTravelScootermoving.Ifyoumuststop,startupagainslowly,andthen
acceleratecautiously.When driving downan incline, doso by settingthe speed adjustmentdial to theslowest
settinganddrivingintheforwarddirection only.IfyourTravelScooterstartstomovedowntheincline fasterthan
youanticipatedordesired,allowittocome toacompletestopbyreleasingthethrottlecontrol lever.Thenpushthe
throttlecontrol leverforwardslightly toensurea safelycontrolleddescent.
WARNING! When climbing an incline, do not zigzag or drive at an angle up the face of the
incline. Drive your Travel Scooter straight up the incline. This greatly reduces the possibility
of a tip or a fall. Always exercise extreme caution when negotiating an incline.
WARNING! Do not drive your Travel Scooter across the side of an incline or diagonally up
or down an incline; do not stop, if possible, while driving up or down an incline.
WARNING! You should not travel up or down a potentially hazardous incline (i.e., areas
covered with snow, ice, cut grass or wet leaves).

WARNING! When on any sort of an incline or decline, never place the Travel Scooter in
freewheel mode, especially when seated on it or standing next to it.
WARNING! Even though your Travel Scooter is capable of climbing slopes greater than
those illustrated in figure 1, do not, under any circumstances, exceed the incline guidelines
or any other specifications presented in this manual. Doing so could cause instability in
your Travel Scooter.
Handicap public access ramps are not subject to government regulation in all countries, and therefore do not
necessarilysharethesame standardpercentofslope.Otherinclinesmaybe naturalor,ifman-made, notdesigned
specificallyfor TravelScooters.Figure1illustratesyourTravelScooter’sstabilityand itsabilitytoclimb grades
undervariousweightloads andundercontrolledtestingconditions.
Thesetests were conducted with the Travel Scooter’s seat in thehighest position andadjusted rearward on the
seatbasetoitsfarthestrearwardposition.Usethisinformationasaguideline.YourTravelScooter’sabilitytotravel
upinclinesisaffectedbyyourweight,yourTravelScooter’sspeed,yourangleofapproach totheinclineandyour
Travel Scooter setup.

WARNING! Never fill the front or rear basket with contents exceeding 6.8 kg.
WARNING! Any attempt to climb or descend a slope steeper than what is shown in figure
1 may put your Travel Scooter in an unstable position and cause it to tip.
Whenyou approachanincline, itisbest toleanforward.Seefigures2and2A.Thisshiftsthecentreofgravityof
youandyour TravelScootertowardthe front of theTravelScooter forimprovedstability.
NOTE: When negotiating ramps, if the throttle control lever is released while moving forward, the
powered Travel Scooter may “roll back” approximately 30.5 cm before the brake engages. If the throttle
control lever is released while moving in reverse, the powered Travel Scooter may “roll back” approxi-
mately 1 metre before the brake engages.

CORNERING INFORMATION
Excessivelyhigh cornering speeds can createthe possibilityof tipping. Factorswhich affect thepossibility of
tippinginclude, butarenotlimitedto,corneringspeed,steeringangle(howsharplyyouareturning),unevenroad
surfaces,inclinedroadsurfaces,ridingfromanareaoflowtractiontoanareaofhightraction(suchaspassingfrom
a grassy area to a paved area – especially at high speed while turning), and abrupt directional changes. High
cornering speeds are not recommended. If you feel that you may tip over in a corner, reduce your speed and
steeringangle (i.e., lessenthesharpnessof the turn)topreventyourTravelScooterfromtipping.
WARNING! When cornering sharply, reduce your speed and maintain a stable centre of
gravity. When using your Travel Scooter at higher speeds, do not corner sharply. This greatly
reduces the possibility of a tip or fall. Always exercise common sense when cornering.
BRAKING INFORMATION
YourTravelScooteris equipped withthesepowerfulbrake systems:
!Regenerative:Uses electricitytorapidly slowthevehiclewhen thethrottlecontrol leverreturnstothe centre/
stopposition.
!DiscParkBrake:Activates mechanically after regenerative braking slows the vehicle to near stop, or when
powerisremoved from the system for anyreason.
OUTDOOR DRIVING SURFACES
YourTravelScooterisdesignedtoprovideoptimumstabilityundernormaldrivingconditions—dry,levelsurfaces
composedof concrete, blacktop, ortarmac. However, Pride recognises thatthere will betimes whenyou will
encounterothersurfacetypes.For this reason, your TravelScooterisdesignedto perform admirably on packed
soil,grass,andgravel.FeelfreetouseyourTravelScootersafelyonlawnsand in park areas.
!Reduceyour TravelScooter’sspeedwhen driving onuneventerrainand/or soft surfaces.
!Avoidtallgrassthatcan become tangled intherunninggearor wrapped around theaxle.
!Avoidlooselypackedgravelandsand.
!Ifyou feelunsureabouta drivingsurface,avoidthat surface.

PUBLIC STREETS AND ROADWAYS
WARNING! You should not operate your Travel Scooter on public streets and roadways. Be
aware that it may be difficult for traffic to see you when you are seated on your Travel
Scooter. Obey all local pedestrian traffic rules. Wait until your path is clear of traffic, and
then proceed with extreme caution.
STATIONARY OBSTACLES (STEPS, KERBS, ETC.)
WARNING! Do not drive near raised surfaces, unprotected ledges and/or drop-offs (kerbs,
porches, stairs, etc.).
WARNING! Do not attempt to have your Travel Scooter climb or descend an obstacle that
is inordinately high.
WARNING! Do not attempt to have your Travel Scooter proceed rearward down any step,
kerb or other obstacle. This may cause the Travel Scooter to tip.
WARNING! Be sure your Travel Scooter is traveling perpendicular to any kerb you may be
required to ascend or descend. See figures 3 and 3A.
WARNING! Do not attempt to negotiate a kerb that has a height greater than 5 cm.
INCLEMENT WEATHER PRECAUTIONS
ExposureofyourTravelScootertoinclementweatherconditionsshouldbe avoided whenever possible. If sud-
denlycaughtupinrain,snow, severe cold or heat while operating your TravelScooter, proceed to shelter at the
earliestopportunity.ThoroughlydryyourTravelScooterbeforestoring,charging,oroperatingyourTravelScooter.
PROHIBITED! Operating in rain, snow, salt, mist/spray conditions, and on icy/slippery
surfaces can cause damage to the Travel Scooter and electrical system. Maintain and
store your Travel Scooter in a dry and clean condition.
WARNING! Prolonged exposure to hot or cold conditions may affect the temperature of
upholstered and non-upholstered items on the Travel Scooter, possibly resulting in skin
irritation. Exercise caution when using your Travel Scooter in extremely hot or cold
conditions or when exposing your Travel Scooter to direct sunlight for prolonged periods
of time.

FREEWHEEL MODE
Your Travel Scooter is equipped with a manual freewheel lever that, when pushed forward, allows theTravel
Scooterto be pushed. Formore information abouthow toplace your TravelScooter intoand out offreewheel
mode,seeIII.“YourTravel Scooter.”
WARNING! When your Travel Scooter is in freewheel mode, the braking system
is disengaged.
! Disengage the drive motors only on a level surface.
! Ensure the key is removed from the key switch.
! Stand beside the Travel Scooter to engage or disengage freewheel mode.
Never sit on a Travel Scooter to do this.
! After you have finished pushing your Travel Scooter, always return it to the
drive mode to lock the brakes.
! Do not place the scooter in freewheel mode on a decline or incline.
Anadded featurebuiltintotheTravelScooteris “push-too-fast”protectionwhichsafeguardstheTravelScooter
againstgainingexcessivespeedwhile infreewheelmode.
“Push-too-fast”operatesdifferentlydepending onwhichoftwoconditions exists:
!Ifthe key is turned tothe “off” position while in freewheelmode, the TravelScooter’s controller activates
regenerativebraking when the TravelScooter ispushed faster thana maximumthreshold which hasbeen
preprogrammed.Inthiscase, the controller is acting as a speed governor.
!Ifthekeyis in the “on” position while infreewheelmode,youwillencounterconsiderableresistance at any
speedbecausethebrakesarefullyengaged.ThispreventstheTravelScooterfromgainingunwantedmomen-
tumshouldthemanualfreewheellever inadvertentlybereleasedwhiledrivingtheTravel Scooter.
STAIRS AND ESCALATORS
Travel Scooters are not designed to travel up or down stairs or escalators.Alwaysuse a lift.
WARNING! Do not use your Travel Scooter to negotiate steps or escalators.
DOORS
!Determineifthedooropens toward or away from you.
!Useyourhand to turn the knob orpush the handle or push-bar.
!Drive your Travel Scooter gently and slowly forward to push the door open, or drive your Travel Scooter
gentlyandslowly rearwards to pull thedooropen.
LIFTS
Modernliftshaveadoor edge safety mechanism that, when pushed, reopens the door(s).
!Ifyouareinthedoorwayofalift when the door(s) begin to close, push on the rubber door edge or allow the
rubberdoor edge to contact theTravel Scooter and the doorwill reopen.
!Usecarethathandbags, packages orTravel Scooter accessories do not becomecaught in lift doors.

LIFT/ELEVATION PRODUCTS
Ifyou willbetraveling withyourTravel Scooter, youmayfindit necessarytouse alift/elevationproduct toaidin
transportation.Priderecommendsthatyoucloselyreviewtheinstructions,specificationsandsafetyinformationset
forthbythemanufacturerofthelift/elevation productbeforeusing thatproduct.
WARNING! Never sit on your Travel Scooter when it is being used in connection
with any type of lift/elevation product. Your Travel Scooter was not designed with
such use in mind and any damage or injury incurred from such use is no the
responsibility of Pride.
BATTERIES
Inadditiontofollowingthewarnings below,besuretocomplywith allotherbatteryhandlinginformation.
MANDATORY! Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and
lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash
hands after handling.
WARNING! Travel Travel Scooter batteries are heavy. See specifications table. If
you are unable to lift that much weight, be sure to get help. Use proper lifting
techniques and avoid lifting beyond your capacity.
WARNING! Always protect the batteries from freezing and never charge a frozen
battery. Charging a frozen battery may result in damage to the battery.
WARNING! Connect the battery harnesses in the proper manner. RED (+) cables
must be connected to positive (+) battery terminals/posts. BLACK (-) cables must
be connected to negative (-) battery terminals/posts. Protective caps should be
installed over all battery terminals. REPLACE cables immediately if damaged.
BATTERY DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING
If you encounter a damaged or cracked battery, immediately enclose it in a plastic bag and contact your local
disposalagency,recyclingcenter, or authorised Pride Provider for instructions on disposal and on battery recy-
cling,which isourrecommended courseofaction.
MOTOR VEHICLE TRANSPORT
Priderecommendsthatyoudonot remain seated in your TravelScooter while traveling in a motor vehicle.The
Travel Scooter should be stowed in the trunkof a car or in the back ofa truck or van with the batteries removed
andproperlysecured.
WARNING! Do not sit on your Travel Scooter while it is in a moving vehicle.
WARNING! Always be sure your Travel Scooter and its batteries are properly secured when
it is being transported. Batteries should be secured in an upright position and protective
caps should be installed on the battery terminals. Batteries should not be transported
with any flammable or combustible items.
PREVENTING UNINTENDED MOVEMENT
WARNING! If you anticipate being seated in a stationary position for an extended period
of time, turn off the power. This will prevent unexpected motion from inadvertent throttle
control lever contact.

GETTING ONTO AND OFF OF YOUR TRAVEL SCOOTER
Getting ontoand offofyourTravelScooterrequiresagoodsenseofbalance.Pleaseobservethefollowingsafety
tipswhen gettingontoandoff ofyourTravel Scooter:
!Removethe key fromthekeyswitch.
!EnsurethatyourTravelScooterisnotinfreewheel mode. See III. “YourTravel Scooter.”
!Makecertainthattheseat is secured into place.
WARNING! Position yourself as far back as possible in the Travel Scooter seat to prevent
the Travel Scooter from tipping.
WARNING! Avoid putting all of your weight on the Travel Scooter armrests and do not use
the armrests for weight bearing purposes, such as transfers. Such use may cause the
Travel Scooter to tip, resulting in a fall from the Travel Scooter and personal injury.
WARNING! Avoid putting all of your weight on the floorboard. Such use may cause the
Travel Scooter to tip.
REACHING AND BENDING
Avoid reachingor bending while drivingyour TravelScooter. Bendingforward creates therisk ofaccidental
throttlecontrollevercontact.Bendingtothesidewhileseatedcreatestheriskoftipping.Itisimportanttomaintain
astablecentreofgravityand keeptheTravelScooterfromtipping.Priderecommends thattheTravelScooteruser
determinehis/herpersonallimitationsandpracticebending andreachinginthepresence ofaqualified attendant.
WARNING! Do not bend, lean, or reach for objects if you have to pick them up from the
Travel Scooter deck or from either side of the Travel Scooter. Movements such as these
may change your centre of gravity and the weight distribution of the Travel Scooter
and cause your Travel Scooter to tip.
PROHIBITED! Keep your hands away from the tyres when driving. Be aware that loose
fitting clothing can become caught in drive tyres.
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS/PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS
The Travel Scooter user must exercise care and common sense when operating his/herTravel Scooter. This
includes awareness of safety issues when taking prescribed or over-the-counter drugs or when the user has
specificphysicallimitations.
WARNING! Consult your physician if you are taking prescribed or over-the-counter
medication or if you have certain physical limitations. Some medications and limitations
may impair your ability to operate your Travel Scooter in a safe manner.

II. SAFETY
ALCOHOL/SMOKING
The Travel Scooter user must exercise care and common sense when operating his/herTravel Scooter. This
includesawarenessofsafetyissueswhileunderthe influenceofalcoholorwhilesmoking.
WARNING! Do not operate your Travel Scooter while you are under the influence of alcohol,
as this may impair your ability to drive safely.
WARNING! Pride strongly recommends that you do not smoke cigarettes while seated in
your Travel Scooter, although the Travel Scooter has passed the necessary testing
requirements for cigarette smoking. You must adhere to the following safety guidelines if
you decide to smoke cigarettes while seated in your Travel Scooter.
!Do not leave lit cigarettes unattended.
!Keep ashtrays a safe distance from the seat cushions.
!Always make sure cigarettes are completely extinguished before disposal.
ELECTROMAGNETIC AND RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE (EMI/RFI)
WARNING! Laboratory tests have shown that electromagnetic and radio frequency waves
can have an adverse affect on the performance of electrically-powered mobility vehicles.
Electromagneticand Radio FrequencyInterferencecancome fromsourcessuchas cellular phones,mobiletwo-
way radios (such as walkie-talkies), radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) transmitters, wireless
computerlinks,microwavesignals,pagingtransmittersandmedium-rangemobiletransceiversusedbyemergency
vehicles.In some cases, these wavescan cause unintended movementor damage tothe control system.Every
electrically-poweredmobilityvehiclehasanimmunity(or resistance)toEMI. Thehighertheimmunitylevel, the
greaterthe protection against EMI.Thisproducthasbeen tested andhaspassedatan immunity levelof20V/M.
WARNING! Be aware that cell phones, two-way radios, laptops and other types of radio
transmitters may cause unintended movement of your electrically-powered mobility vehicle
due to EMI. Exercise caution when using any of these items while operating your mobility
vehicle and avoid coming into close proximity of radio and TV stations.
WARNING! The addition of accessories or components to the electrically-powered mobility
vehicle can increase the susceptibility of the vehicle to EMI. Do not modify your Travel
Scooter in any way not authorised by Pride.
WARNING! The electrically-powered mobility vehicle itself can disturb the performance
of other electrical devices located nearby, such as alarm systems.
NOTE: For more information on EMI/RFI, visit the Resource Center on www.pridemobility.com. If
unintended motion or brake release occurs, turn your Travel Scooter off as soon as it is safe to do so.
Contact your authorised Pride Provider to report the incident.

Throttle Control Lever
This lever allows you to control the forward speed and the reverse speed of your Travel Scooter up to the
maximumspeed youpresetwiththe speedadjustmentdial.
!Placeyour righthandon therighthandgripandyourlefthand ontheleft handgrip.
!UseyourrightthumbtopushtherightsideofthelevertodisengageyourTravelScooter’sbrakesandmoveforward.
!Releasetheleverandallow your TravelScootertocometoacompletestop before pushing the other side of
theleverto move inreverse.
NOTE: When the reverse side of the throttle control lever is engaged, a back up beeper will sound.
!Whenthethrottleiscompletelyreleased,itautomaticallyreturnstothecentre“stop”positionandengagesyour
Travel Scooter’s brakes.

LOWER TILLER COMPONENTS
Tiller Adjustment Knob
Your Travel Scooter is equipped with an adjustable pivot-
ingtillerthatyoucanpositiontomaximiseyourergonomic
comfort.
WARNING! Remove the key from the key
switch before adjusting the tiller or the
seat. Never attempt to adjust the tiller or
the seat while the Travel Scooter is in
motion.
To usethe tilleradjustment knob:
1. Whilesupportingthetiller,turnthetilleradjustmentknob
anticlockwise to loosenthe tiller. Seefigure5.
2. Movethetillerto acomfortableposition.
3. Turn the tiller adjustment knobclockwise to secure the
tillerinposition.
NOTE: In order to lower the tiller to its lowest point,
you must first remove the seat.

Tiller Lock Knob
Thetiller lock knob allowsthetillertobe locked inthestraightaheadposition. Locking the tillerishelpfulwhen
transportingtheTravelScooterbecauseit willstabilisethefront wheel,keepingtheTravelScooterfrommoving
fromsideto side.
WARNING! Before getting onto your Travel Scooter, always check that the tiller lock knob
is in the unlocked position. See figure 7A. Attempting to ride your Travel Scooter with the
tiller lock knob in the locked position can result in personal injury.
Fromtheunlockedposition(seefigure6),lock the frontwheel by pushing the tiller lock knobin and turning it
clockwise 90°. Seefigure 6A.

SEAT ADJUSTMENTS
To adjustthe heightofthe seat:
1. Remove the seat by lifting it straight up and off of the
Travel Scooter.
2. Usethe attached ring topull andremove thedetent pin
from the lower seat post. Seefigure 7.
3. Raise or lower the upper seat post to the desired
seat height.
4. Whileholdingthe upperseatpostatthat height,alignthe
adjustmentholesoftheupperandlowerseatposts.
5. Fullyinsertthedetentpin.
6. Reinstalltheseat.
