PRE-RIDE SAFETY CHECK
GettoknowthefeelofyourTravel Scooterand itscapabilities.Priderecommendsthatyouperformasafetycheck
beforeeachusetomakesureyourTravelScooteroperatessmoothlyandsafely.
PerformthefollowinginspectionspriortousingyourTravel Scooter:
!Checkfortheelectricalconnections.Makesuretheyaretightandnotcorroded.
!Checkthebrakes (freewheel lever in drivemode).
!Checkbatterycharge.
Ifyoudiscover a problem, contact your authorised PrideProviderforassistance.
WEIGHT LIMITATIONS
YourTravelScooterisratedforamaximumweightcapacity.Refertothespecifications tableforthisinformation.
MANDATORY! Stay within the specified weight capacity for your Travel Scooter. Exceeding
the weight capacity voids your warranty. Pride will not be held responsible for injuries and/
or property damage resulting from failure to observe weight limitations.
WARNING! Do not carry passengers on your Travel Scooter. Carrying passengers on your
Travel Scooter may affect the centre of gravity, resulting in a tip or a fall.
INCLINE INFORMATION
Moreand more buildings have rampswith specified degrees ofinclination, designed foreasy and safeaccess.
Somerampsmay have turning switchbacks(180-degreeturns)thatrequire you to havegoodcorneringskillson
yourTravelScooter.
!Proceedwithextremecautionasyou approach the downgrade of a ramp or other incline.
!Takewide swingswithyourTravelScooteraroundany tightcorners.Ifyou dothat,theTravel Scooter’srear
wheelswillfollowawidearc,notcutthecornershort,andnotbumpintoorgethunguponanyrailingcorners.
!Whendriving down a ramp, keeptheTravel Scooter’s speed adjustment set tothe slowest speed settingto
ensurea safely controlleddescent.
!Avoidsuddenstops and starts.
Whenclimbinganincline,trytokeepyourTravelScootermoving.Ifyoumuststop,startupagainslowly,andthen
acceleratecautiously.When driving downan incline, doso by settingthe speed adjustmentdial to theslowest
settinganddrivingintheforwarddirection only.IfyourTravelScooterstartstomovedowntheincline fasterthan
youanticipatedordesired,allowittocome toacompletestopbyreleasingthethrottlecontrol lever.Thenpushthe
throttlecontrol leverforwardslightly toensurea safelycontrolleddescent.
WARNING! When climbing an incline, do not zigzag or drive at an angle up the face of the
incline. Drive your Travel Scooter straight up the incline. This greatly reduces the possibility
of a tip or a fall. Always exercise extreme caution when negotiating an incline.
WARNING! Do not drive your Travel Scooter across the side of an incline or diagonally up
or down an incline; do not stop, if possible, while driving up or down an incline.
WARNING! You should not travel up or down a potentially hazardous incline (i.e., areas
covered with snow, ice, cut grass or wet leaves).
