IMPORTANT! Always switch o the appliance
before cleaning, when not in use or attempting
any maintenance tasks. The charger must only
be connected to an AC power supply at the
voltage shown on the rating label. This cleaner
should only be used for its intended purpose
as described in this instruction manual. Never
operate the vacuum cleaner without filters.
Safety precautions and warning:
When using your Backpack, basic precautions
should always be observed, including the
followings;
1. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
3. To prevent electrical shock, do not immerse
the appliance, battery, or power plug into
water or other liquids.
4. To prevent electrical shock, do not use the
vacuum cleaner outdoors or on wet surfaces.
5. Always check the power cord before use, the
power cord and the plug should be in a good
condition and must not be damaged. If the
power supply cord is damaged or defective,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
6. The appliance and charging base are intended
for domestic indoors use only.
7. Do not unplug by pulling on the power cord.
To unplug, grasp the plug, not the power
cord. Use only Australian and New Zealand
electrical safety approved extension cords.
8. Do not pull or carry the charger by the power
cable, use the power cable as a handle or
pull the power cable around sharp edges or
corners. Avoid running the appliance over the
power cable.
9. Do not handle or operate the appliance
with wet hands and follow electrical safety
precautions at all times.
10. Extreme caution should be exercised when
using the appliance on stairs.
11. Do not attempt to change the attachments
while the appliance is switched on. Use only
manufacturer’s recommended accessories.
12. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close
to heaters, radiators and other hot surfaces.
13. Do not use the appliance to pick up
flammable items or combustible liquids (i.e.
gasoline, hot ashes, cigarettes, matches,
explosive materials or anything burning)
or use in areas where such substances and
items may be present.
14. Do not use the appliance to pick up toxic
materials (i.e. chlorine bleach, ammonia)..
15. Never operate or use the appliance without
the filters in place.
16. Before vacuuming, remove any large or sharp
objects from the floor or cleaning surface in
order to prevent damage to the filter.
17. If the air inlet or floor head is blocked, switch
o the cleaner straight away. First, clear the
blocked object before attempting to start the
vacuum cleaner again.
WARNING
18. Before carrying out any maintenance service
or cleaning the filters, always switch o the
vacuum cleaner.
19. Keep openings away from your face and
body.
20. Do not use the vacuum cleaner if it is
damaged or broken. If connection cables are
damaged, have them replaced immediately.
21. Never clean the vacuum cleaner, charger
or any of the electrical parts, especially the
electrical connections with water or liquid
cleaners.
22. Never attempt to make any modifications
electrically to the vacuum cleaner and
charging base.
23. Always store the appliance and charger
indoors in a cool and dry place.
24. Do not pick up water, for dry household use
only
25. Damage caused by improper use or by not
observing the instructions in this manual will
void the warranty.

Battery use and care
1. The appliance is only to be used with the
charging base uniquely provided with the
appliance.
2. Only use the Pullman PL950 charger to
charge the battery.
3. When the backpack and charger is not in use,
keep them away from other metal objects,
like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or
other small metal objects that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminal or terminals on
the charger may cause burns or a fire.
4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with water.
If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery
may cause irritation or burns.
5. Do not charge or store the cleaner outdoors
or inside the car. Only charge or store the
battery in a dry indoor area where the
temperature is more than 5˚C but less than
45˚C.
6. Never attempt to open the battery for any
reason. If the plastic housing of the cleaner
breaks or cracks, immediately discontinue use
and do not recharge.
7. The charging base contains electrical
connections inside. The charging base is not a
serviceable part.
8. Before disposal of your battery, fully
discharge your battery by running the
product until it stops.
9. The cleaner contains a Li-Ion battery. Do not
dispose the cleaner with your local garbage.
Contact your local council for the instruction
of disposal of the battery.
10. Do not use the charger to charge a
non-chargeable battery.
11. Do not touch or insert objects into the
battery pack or charger terminals. Do not
attempt to short circuit the battery pack or
charger terminals.
12. Only use the Pullman PL950 batteries
provided with the appliance.
13. If the appliance is to be stored unused for
a long period of time, please remove the
batteries from the appliance.
14. If the batteries are faulty, do not leave the
batteries in the appliance. Remove the
batteries from the appliance and safely
dispose the batteries.
15. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.

Precautionary measures:
In the event that your Backpack should become blocked, please switch O and remove the
batteries from the cleaner before you attempt to remove the blockage.
1. Do not operate the vacuum cleaner too close to heaters, radiators,
cigarette butts etc.
2. Before you insert the plug into the mains power supply, make sure your
hand is dry.
3. Before you start using the Backpack, please remove large or sharp objects from
the floor in order to prevent the paper filter being damaged.
4. When you remove the plug from the Mains power supply, please do
this at the plug itself and not by the electrical cable.
5. Do not use Backpack to pick up water or liquids.

WARNING! Always switch o the cleaner before fitting or removing accessories.
IMPORTANT! Please ensure that the charger is placed on a flat level surface.
CAUTION! Do not try to open the battery pack and repair it yourself.
CAUTION! The charger contains electrical connections inside. The charger is not a
serviceable part.
NOTE: If the cleaner will not be used for a long period of time, please remove the
batteries from the machine to maintain the battery life.
Connecting the hose
1.
To fit the hose, insert into the hose inlet at the top of the
backpack. Turn the hose end clockwise until it locks into
place.
2. To remove the hose, twist the hose end counter clockwise
until it loosens.

Ensure that the power plug is plugged into the mains power
supply. Insert the batteries into the charger. When the
charger indicator light turns green, the batteries are fully
charged.
2. To remove the batteries from the charger, press the blue
battery release button, as shown and gently pull out the
batteries.
Fitting the 2-piece rod and floor tool
1. Connect the 2-piece rod together.
2. To fit the rod to the handle, gently insert the end of the
handle into the top of the rod.
3. To fit the floor tool to the rod, gently insert the rod into the
top of the floor tool as shown.

Carpet Hard Floors
Installing
1.
Insert the batteries as shown ensuing that the batteries click
into position.
Important! Batteries must be fully charged prior to the first use.
Removing

To remove the batteries from the cleaner, press the blue
battery release button, as shown, and gently pull out the
batteries.
Crevice Tool
Eliminates dust from hard to reach places such as from corners and
in between cushions.
Floor Tool
The Patented Gulper Advance floor tool
is ideal for cleaning on carpets and hard
floors.

6. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT! Do not use the cleaner if the motor housing is damaged.
Fitting Your Backpack
Your Backpack comes with straps fastened for ease of packing. Before fitting the Backpack
onto your back, first loosen the various harness straps.
1. Adjust harness height to your body height by squeezing
& sliding the Height Adjust Plate (up or down) to your
appropriate height (Tall, Medium or Small).
2. Ensure your arms are through the harness. Buckle the hip
belt ensuring the backpack is resting on your hip bone.
Tighten by pulling both the hip belt side straps.
3. Tighten the shoulder straps by pulling down on the end of
the two straps, as shown.
4. Pull down on the two Load Lifter Straps.
5. Lastly buckle the Sternum Strap across your chest.
IMPORTANT
The unit is ergonomically correct when the weight is distributed
over the waist and not on the shoulders.

Operating Your Backpack
1. Ensure the batteries are installed into the cleaner.
2. Fit the unit onto your back (Please refer to the fitting
instructions in this manual).
3. To switch on the cleaner press the On/O button.
Press “I” for Eco Mode. Press “II” for Turbo Mode. Select “O” to
switch o the cleaner.

Installing the Dust Bag
1. Insert the hose into the blower port. Turn the hose end
clockwise until it locks into place.
1. The cleaner can be operated with just the cloth filter bag
supplied. A dust bag can be used to provide an extra level
of filtration. To install the dust bag remove the clear lid and
insert the dust bag into the cloth filter bag.
1. In between jobs, accessories can be stored on the waist
strap for convenient access.

Taking O Your Backpack
Using the Battery Status Indicator
1. Switch o the cleaner.
2. Unclip waist strap and chest strap.
3. Loosen the shoulder straps slightly and slide the pad o one
shoulder and then o the other shoulder – taking hold of the
carry handle on the top of the cleaner.
NOTE: If the cleaner will not be used for a long period of time,
please remove the battery from the machine to maintain the
batteries life.
1. Each battery has been designed with a Battery Status
Indicator to identify the battery charge level. To use this
feature, simple press the Battery Status Button located on
the battery. Four green lights indicate that the battery is fully
charged.
1. Remove the clear lid. If you have a dust bag installed, dispose
the dust bag. Lift out cloth dust bag to empty.
2. Next, remove the Patented Filter drum & tap gently to clean.
7. MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Before any Maintenance and Cleaning – ensure the cleaner is turned o and the batteries are
removed from the cleaner.
Always operate your cleaner with the Patented Vortex HEPA Filter Chamber and the cloth
filter bag correctly installed. This will prevent damage to your cleaner and help maximize the
cleaning performance.

3. Squeeze the two HEPA filter grill tabs & remove the grill.
4. Pull up the exhaust HEPA filter, and tap the HEPA filter to
clean.
NOTE: For maximum performance replace the Cloth Filter Bag every 3 months. We recommend
that both the HEPA filter and the Patented Vortex HEPA Filter Chamber are replaced every 6
months.

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault Treatment
The backpack vacuum
cleaner will not turn
“On”.
Check that the batteries are inserted securely; remove the
batteries and then reinsert into the cleaner.
Check that the On/O switch is in the ‘ON’ position and that
the batteries are fully charged.
The Backpack vacuum
performance is
deteriorating.
Check the Backpack to ensure there are no blockages. Please
clear any blockages that may be found. (Important: always
first remove the plug from the Mains power point).
Check the cloth filter bag (inlet and exhaust) to see if it needs
to be cleaned or replaced.
The cleaner makes an
abnormal sound when
switched on.

Check for any blockage in the hose, rod, floor tool restricting

Conditions of warranty
This warranty commences from the original date
of purchase and is not transferable; please retain
your original proof of purchase for any warranty
claims. This warranty is valid only in the country
where the cleaner is purchased.

The cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions.
This cleaner is not designed for the collection of vitreous building
material including particle board, construction products and similar
products such as wood/fibres, cement, fillers, fibre glass etc or
excessive or frequent sand. The infrequent pick-up of these materials
in these circumstances may be harmful to your cleaner and may void
the manufacturer’s warranty.
Tools, accessories and consumables including dust bags and filters,
unless defective in manufacture, are not subject to this warranty. In
order to prolong the life of accessories and consumables, regular care
and maintenance is recommended.
When properly used and cared for, your cleaner will render excellent
service; refer to the instruction manual for further details, as misuse or
failure to follow the instructions makes this warranty void.

will replace it with a genuine functional replacement part.
This warranty does not apply to the cost of replacing any
parts of the product due to normal wear and tear, alterations,
improper installation, physical abuse, misuse or accidental
damage. Any transportation costs involved in the repair of
defective parts shall be borne by the claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the time of a
warranty claim or service, any work carried out on the cleaner
is chargeable.
The repair of the cleaner under this warranty does not extend
the original period of warranty.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to
all other rights and remedies in respect of the product as
outlined under the Competition and Consumer Act and other
State and Territory laws.
“Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded in
the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any
other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also
entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods
fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount
to a major failure.”
