SAFE OPERATION
1. GENERAL OPERATION
.1 Read the operating and service instruction manual
carefully.
.2 Become thoroughly familiar with the controls and the
proper use of the equipment. Know how to stop the unit
and disengage the controls quickly.
.3 Allow only responsible adults, who are familiar with
the instructions, to operate this machine. Never allow
children to operate the equipment.
.4 Be sure the area is clear of bystanders, children and
pets before operating. Stop machine if anyone or
anything enters the area.
.5 NEVER CARRY PASSENGERS while sweeping with
the PB60
.6 Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is
to be used and remove all foreign objects.
.7 Disengage clutch on ATV and shift ATV into neutral
before starting the engine (motor). Refer to the safety
section in the ATV operators manual
.8 Never attempt to make adjustments while the engine
(motor) is running
.9 Always wear safety glasses or eye shields: during
operation, while performing an adjustment or repairs; to
protect eyes from foreign objects that may be thrown
from the machine.
.10 Maintain or replace safety and instruction labels, as
necessary. Never tamper with safety devices and check
their proper operation regularly.
2. GENERAL DEVICE OPERATION
.1 Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts.
.2 Exercise extreme caution when operating on or
crossing gravel drives, walks or roads. Stay alert for
hidden hazards and traffic.
.3 After striking a foreign object; stop the engine
(motor) remove the wire from the spark plug, thoroughly
inspect the brush for any damage, and repair damage
before restarting and operating the brush.
.4 If the unit should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the
engine (motor) and check immediately for the cause.
Vibration is generally a warning of trouble.
.5 Stop the engine (motor) whenever you leave the
operating position, before making any repairs,
adjustments or inspections.
.6 Take all possible precautions when leaving the
machine unattended. Disengage the drive, lower the
attachment, set the parking brake, stop the engine and
remove the key.
.7 Before cleaning, repairing or inspecting, make
certain all moving parts have stopped. Disconnect the
spark plug wire and place the wire away from the plug
to prevent accidental starting.
.9 Do not operate across the face of slopes. Exercise
extreme caution when changing direction on slopes. Do
not attempt to clear steep slopes.
.10 Never operate the brush without provided guards,
plates or other safety protective devices in place.
.11 Never operate the machine at high transport speed
and use care when backing up!
.12 Never allow anyone in front of the unit.
.13 Disengage power to the brush when transporting or
not in use.
.14 Never operate the power brush without good
visibility or good light.
While operating, ALWAYS attach
the clip end of the Tether Cord
to your belt, until you dismount
from the ATV. The switch the
cord is attached to will shut off
the engine if pulled deliberately
or by inadvertent dismount from
the ATV seat.

3. SET-UP & OPERATION
-i- BRUSH MOUNTING
*Refer to the Power Unit operator’s manual for
instructions on assembly of the Power Unit.
1. Loosen the motor plate on the Power Unit (Refer to
Power Unit Manual for illustration)
2. Take the belt, slide over pulley on broom and the
upper pulley on the Interframe (Figure 3-1).
Figure 3- 1
3. Tighten the motor plate on the Power Unit
3 Engage both locking clips on the brush (one on
each side) as shown in Figure 3-2.
Figure 3-2
5. Attach the winch cable to the last chain link to
prevent the brush from hitting the ATV when winch
is reeled in. Depending on winch location on the
ATV, a higher lift is required to use the second link,
but only if it cannot interfere with the ATV when
lifted.
-ii- ANGLE ADJUSTMENT
Manual
Remove Pivot stop pin (shown in Fig 3-2) and manually
adjust angle by rotating brush to desired angle and
reinsert pin
Electrical Pivot (Option)
An electrical pivot option is available and is setup as
shown in the Figure 3-3

WHEN IN USE: Attach the clip end of the Tether Cord
to your belt, until you dismount the ATV. The switch the
cord is attached to: will shut off the engine if pulled
deliberately or by inadvertently dismounting from the
ATV seat.
Gage Wheels
1. The gage wheels (one on each side) are to be used
on surfaces that are not hard enough for the full
weight of the brush, such as sweeping leaves on
grass. The wheels are not needed for hard
surfaces, such as concrete or asphalt.
2. When not used: the gage wheel assemblies can be
removed from the unit OR stored upside down in
the same holder and tightened (refer to procedure
3).
3. Lift the Brush and adjust the wheels to the desired
height, depending on the degree of aggressive
desired. Secure the gage wheels with the offset
locking pins (Figure 3-5) to achieve proper locking
tightness.
Figure 3-5
GENERAL OPERATION
1. Start brush engine and warm up at LOW RPM.
2. Increase engine RPM to desired speed and
start operating. Refer to the Power Unit Manual
for illustrations and operation of throttle
controls).
3. Operate brush so wind blows debris away from
operator, engine and power unit.
4. For a longer lasting brush; take note of the
following:
a) More pressure does not produce a better sweep
b) A level brush lasts longer.
c) The faster the ground speed, the faster the
brush will wear.
d) More aggressive brush down pressure will
reduce brush life.
5. Drive at low speed.
6. When climbing curbs or loading brush on trailer,
raise brush to maximum height and drive slowly.
The bristles might come in contact with curb or
trailer ramp.
STORAGE
1. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws properly tightened.
This maintains the unit in good working condition.
2. Remove weight from brush bristles by putting
blocks under the frame and setting up gage wheels
to maintain brush to floor clearance.
3. Refer to Power Unit manual on storage instruction
for the Power Unit
MAINTENANCE
1. Refer to the engine manual for servicing and
lubrication specifications and intervals.
2. Clean engine air cleaner frequently (hourly, if
necessary, if subject to a lot dust).
3. Clean debris from engine and gearbox area after
each use.
4. The gearbox is sealed and therefore the oil level
cannot and is not required to be checked.
5. Bristles wear off after time and will be in need of
replacement:
a. Disconnect the roller chain that attaches the
gearbox to sprocket on the brush.
b. Remove the bolted front shield for easier access,
if desired, but not necessary.
c. Remove the bearing (Figure 3-5) on each side of
the brush and slide out the shaft.
d. Remove bolts from bristle shaft and replace all
bristles at once.
NOTE: Refer to pages 10 to 13 of the Parts
Replacement Section of this manual.

Quad Power Brush
Operators Manual – Version 06
4
NOTE: Bristles must be replaced all at once or
uneven sweeping will occur. The longer bristles
will wear off faster.
6. Replacing and Adjusting belt and belt tension:
a. Belt tension is determined by the position of
the motor on the Power Unit. To adjust the
tension; loosen the motor bolts on the Power
Unit and slide the motor until proper tension is
achieved.
b. To replace the belt; perform the previous step
and unlock locking clips as shown in Figure 3-
2 and replace belt. See Figure 3-7, Belt Drive
Schematic.
NOTE: As the engine is moved rearward on the
power unit, the spring loaded idler pulley (under
the gearbox of the Power Brush) will come under
greater tension.
Figure 3-6
7. Servicing the roller chain that drives the rotor:
a.To replace the roller chain, remove the bolts
that hold the springs on the idler. Remove
springs, Figure 3-6.
b.Find the connector link on the chain and
disconnect.
c. Roll chain out and insert the replacement.
d.For easier access to the sprocket on the rotor,
remove the top cover on the brush assembly
before replacing chain.
