Charging the LiPo Battery

yourfirstight.
TheUSBchargercanbepoweredbytheUSBportonyour
computerorawallplugUSBport.Plugthechargerintoa
suitableUSBportandthenplugtheightbaeryintothe
charger.Aredlightwillilluminateandblinkduringcharging.
Whenthechargeiscompletetheredlightwillgoout.
CAUTION: ONLY CHARGE THE FLIGHT BATTERY WITH THE INCLUDED USB LIPO CHARGER OR A
SUITABLE LITHIUM BATTERY CHARGER. NEVER ATTEMPT TO CHARGE A LIPO BATTERY WITH A

receiverwillonlyrespondtothatspecifictransmier.
Ifyouneedtorebindforanyreason,pleasefollowthesesteps:
•Makesurethetransmieristurnedo,thethroleiso(scktoboom)andthe
PASSswitchisintheParalorFullAssistposion.Plugtheightbaeryinwhile
keepingtheairframesllforgyrocalibraon.
•Turnonthetransmierwithin5seconds.
•ThereceiverLEDwillashfor3-5secondsandthenbindautomacally.
•Oncebound,theLEDwillremainsolidlylit.

Insertthelandinggearwireintotheslotattherear
ofthebaerybox.Thewheelsshouldberakedfor-
ward.Thelandinggearareheldinplacebyfricon,no
screwsarenecessarytoretain.

Insertthebaeryintothebaeryboxlocatedonthe
boomofthefuselage.First,turnonthetransmier
withthethroleo(letransmiersckalltheway
down).Thenplugintheconnector,whichwillpower
uptheaircra.Unplugtheightbaeryattheendof

Control Functions
TheSuperCubMXcomesnearlycompletelyassembled.Allthecontrolsurfaceshavebeen
pre-connected.Checkthatthedireconofmovementiscorrectforeachofthecontrolfunc-
ons.Thisisaccomplishedbyfirstturningonyourtransmier(makesurethatyourthrole
sckisattheboomposion)andthenplugginginyourcharged1-cellightbaery.Leavethe
throlesckinitsoposion.Themotorwillnotbeacvatedunlthethrolesckiscycled
fromtheboomtothetopandbacktotheboom.FlipthePASSswitchlocatedontheright
shoulderofthetransmierawayfromyou,intotheAssistOposion.Inthisposionthecon-
trolsurfaceswillonlymovewhenthescksonthetransmieraremoved.Withthetransmier
scksintheirneutralposionsthecontrolsurfacesontheaircrashouldbeneutral.

Thelesckonthetransmiercontrolsthethrolefuncon.Whenthetransmierisonand
theaircraightbaeryispluggedin,theelectronicswillbeacvebutthemotorwillnotbe
armed.Toarmthemotor,cyclethethrolesckfromtheOFFtotheONposionandthenback
toOFF.Youwillhearanarmingtoneandthenextmethatthethrolesckisraisedthemotor
willstart.
Innormalightoperaons,alwaysturnthetransmieronfirstandthenpoweruptheaircra.
Keeptheaircrasllfor3-5secondstoallowthegyrotoproperlycalibratebeforeying.Cycle
thethroleOFF/ON/OFFtoarmthemotor.Whenfinishedyingalwaysunplugtheight
baeryfirstandthenturnothetransmier.
Servo Reversing
Ifacontrolsurfaceismovinginthewrongdirecontheservosoperaonwillneedtobere-
versedelectronically.
Followthesestepstoreverseaservo:
• Turnonthetransmierandplugtheightbaeryintotheairplane.
• FlipthePASSswitchtoNoAssist(Switchtowardrearoftransmier).
• Donotarmthemotor.
• Holdthecontrolsckforthefunconthatyouwanttoreverseallthewayllitstops.
• Holdthecontrolsckinplaceunlyouseethecontrolsurfacechangedirecons-within
3to5seconds.

WithboththetransmierandtheaircrapoweredonandthePASSswitchinthe"NoAssist"
posion,checkthecontrolsurfacesforcorrectcentering.Ifthesurfaceisnotcentered,make
theadjustmenttothepushrodlengthbyeitheropeningorclosingthegapattheU-shaped
seconofthepushrod.

Pilot Assist Stability Software (PASS)
PASS(Pilot Assist StabilitySoware)isincorporatedintoyourSuperCubMX.Itallowsthepilot
totailortheresponseoftheairplanetohisabilies.Asyourpilongskillsgrowthecapabilies
oftheSuperCubMXgrowwithyou.
Inthismode,theamountofroll,rateof
climb,andrateofdivearelimited.
Selflevelingisalsoengaged.
Thereducedroll,climbanddiveanglesare
toaidthenewerpilotinnot
overcontrollingtheaircra.Ifatanyme
theairplanefeelsoutofcontrol,simplylet
goofthescksandthemodelwillreturn
tonormalight.

Performapreightchecktoseethatthecontrolsaremovinginthecorrectdirecon.Thisisbest
performedwiththePASSsystemsettoNoAssist.Aerthecheck,switchthePASSsystemto
FullAssistandaimtheaircraintothewind.Theidealyingsiteneedstobeaboutthesizeof
aballfieldandwithoutobstacles.Smoothlyadvancethethroleandallowtheaircratotake
oaerashortroll.Gentlypullbackontheelevatorscktoclimbandiniateaturntokeep
theaircrawithineasyvisualdistance.Fullthroleisnotrequiredandforlearningpurposesa
throlesengof1/2to2/3throleisbest.Rememberthattheaircrawillreturntolevelight
ifthecontrolscksarereleased.Whenreadyforlandingmakeyourapproachwiththenoseof
theairplanepointedintothewind.ReducethethroletodescendandallowthePASSsystemto
aidinmaintaingagentleglidetotouchdown.
The PASS system used in the Super Cub MX is pre-calibrated from the factory. Recalibraon is
only necessary if the aircra does not respond correctly (pitches up or down) when the PASS
switch is acvated. With the aircra sing on a level surface and the tail raised to a "wings
level" atude, follow the steps below to recalibrate the PASS system:
