Thismanualisanintegralpartof batteryscissorsZERO702 andmust becarefully
readbeforeusingit,sinceitgivesimportantindicationswithregardstoitssafe
installation,useandmaintenance.Keepitwith care.
BeforeusingbatteryscissorsZERO702,readcarefullythefollowinggeneral
safetyrules.
•PACKAGING.
Aftertakingoffthepackagingmakesurethatthebatteryscissorsareintact.In
caseofdoubtdonotusethemandcontactanauthorizedservicecentre.Do
notleavepiecesofpackaging(plasticbags,foampolystyrene,boxes,etc.)
withinthereachofchildrenordisabledpersons,sincetheyarepotentialsources
ofdanger.
•AVOIDDANGEROUSENVIRONMENTS.
PreventthebatteryscissorsZERO702componentsfromcomingincontact
withdamporwetsurfaces.
•KEEPCHILDRENAWAY.
Unauthorizedpersons,inparticularchildren,mustbekeptawayfromtheworking
area.
•KEEPTHE WORKINGAREAALWAYSINORDER.
Theworkplacemustalwaysbekeptinorderandwell lightened;liquidsoroil

2.TRANSPORTAND PACKING
Thescissorsaredeliveredinacarryingcasewiththebatteryandthecharger.Thecodeof the
orderedproductandits serialnumberareindicatedoutsidethepackage(see picture1).The
followingaccessoriesarecontainedinabaginsidethecarryingcase:
1)Quadrangularblade(4sides);
2)Greasetube;
3)Driftforbladeassembly/disassembly;
4)Butterflywrenchforbladenutdisassembly.

3.PLATE DATA
Themanufacturer'sidentificationandECSTANDARD2006/42/ECconformityplate(see picture
below) islocatedonthefrontpartof thebatteryscissors.
The plate mustnotbe removedatall, evenifthe equipment isresold.Alwaysrefer
totheserialnumber(writtenontheplateitself)whencontactingthemanufacturer.
Severalsafetywarningsareprintedonacardwhichisappliedto thebatteryscissors;such
warningsmust bestrictlyfollowedbyeveryonedealingwiththeequipment. Thecompanyis
nottobe heldresponsiblefordamagetopropertyoraccidentstopeoplewhich
might occur iftheabove-mentionedwarnings arenotobserved.Insuch acase,
theoperatoristheonlypersonresponsible.

4. PRODUCTDESCRIPTION
ThismanualdescribesbatteryscissorsmodelZERO702 whichareusedinorderto quicklycut
fabricsinthetextileindustry,technicalandcompositefabrics.Theyareextremelyversatile,
lightandpreciseinthecuttingoperation.Thanksto theuseof asupportingfrontfootandof
aneffectivecuttingsystemwith quadrangularblade,itispossibleto usethebatteryscissors
to cutdifferentmaterials.Inparticularthescissorshavebeendesignedto cutdifficultmaterials
such asmoquettes,polymericmaterials,fiberglass,insulations andleather(even hide).
Onespecialfeatureof batteryscissorsZERO702 is theirabilityto sharpenthebladeineach
moment,withoutdisassemblingit,bymeans of agrindingwheelmountedonthescissors
head.Aftercarryingoutthisoperation,itispossibleto immediatelystartcuttingagain.A
highpowermotor,perfectlybalanced,withahighnumberof revolutions andtotallyfree of
maintenance,reducesthevibrations to theminimum.Forthisreasonthebatteryscissors
complywithLegislativeDecree no 187 dated19/8/2005, whichadopts EuropeanDirectiveno
2002/44/ECconcerningtherisksderivingfrommechanicalvibrations.
Themechanicalparts aremadeof high-qualitysteel,bronzeandaluminium andrequire
lubricationafterseveralworkinghours.

It isadvisableforbatteryscissorsZERO702 ownersto verifythecompliancewiththestandard
concerningsafetyof workers:Italianlegislativedecree 81/08.Theuseof earprotecting
devicesiscompulsory.
Themaximum acousticpressurelevelemittedbybatteryscissorsZERO702 isabout60 dB(A).
Noisetests havebeen carriedoutin compliancewith StandardUNIENISO11202:2010. The
devicenoiselevels,measuredatdifferentdistances(withoutanysoundwavefilteringsystem),
varyintheextentof fewdb (A).
BatteryscissorsZERO702 havebeendesigned,manufacturedandassembledto cuteverykind
of fabricsormaterials,withtheexceptionofmetal,plasticorwood,bymeans of rotary
blades.
Thisequipmentmust not work:
-in areas proneto explosions;
-in presenceof finedustorcorrosivegases;
-to cutplastic,metalandwoodenmaterials.
ItisforbiddentousebatteryscissorsZERO702 for purposesdifferentfromthe
above-mentionedones.

otherpeople’ssafety.
LAttheendof theworkingoperations,themetalliccomponents couldbeveryhot.
LThecuttingbladecanworkevenwhentheprotectivedeviceisdisassembled.
8.USE WARNINGS
We recommendfollowingtheindications belowinorderto alwaysworkinsafetyconditions.
·All theoperations must becarriedoutcomplyingstrictlywiththesafetyrulesof the
countrywherethedeviceissold.
·It is STRICTLY FORBIDDENto smokeduringtheinstallation oradjustmentoperations of
thebatteryscissors.
·TheCustomerundertakesto complywithandmakehisstaff observeall therulesand
regulations inforceconcerningsafety,preventionof accidents andhealthinthework
place.Therefore,theCustomerassumestheresponsibilityto strictlyfollowall therules
andregulations inforce,aswell asthespecialprovisions inforceinsportandpublic
installationstheCustomerdeclarestoknowafterreceivingalltherelativenecessarypieces
of information.
·Thebatteryscissorswork alsowithouttheir safetyprotectivedevice.This
protectivedevicemustNEVERbe removed.
·Alwayscheck theresistanceof thematerialto becutandthekindof bladewhichisbeing
used.
·TheCustomershall equiphis own personnelwith all theindividualsafetyprotections for
theexecutionof theworks,aswell aswiththeoneswhichmightbeprescribedbythe
Manufacturerdueto specificdangerconditions of theplantorof thearea wherethe
personnelmust work.
·Onlyoneoperatormust usethebatteryscissorsalwaysstandingbehindtheguidehandle.
Donot makeanyadjustmentwhilethebladeisworking.
·It isallowedto assemblebatteryscissorsZERO702 onmachinesO.E.M.onconditionthat
theiroriginalstructureisnot modified.Otherwise,theinterventionmust becertifiedby
Rasor®.

10.RULES FOR THECAREOFTHELITHIUM-ION BATTERIES
Thefollowingrulesshouldbenotedwhencaringforyourlithium-ionbatteriesifyouwant
tomaintaintheperformanceoftheenergystoreforaslongaspossible:
·Thefirstchargeiscrucial.Fullychargethebatterybeforeusingitforthefirsttime.
·Eachbatteryonlyhasalimitednumberofchargecycles.Don'tthereforerechargethe
batteryateveryopportunity.Insteaduseituntilitisalmostflat(10...20%ofcharge).
Dependingonloading,thehigh-quality,3Ah capacitybatterycells canbecharged
upto2,000times.Assuming250daysareworkedayearandthatthebatteriesare
chargeddaily,this corresponds toabatterylifeof8years.
·IIfthebatteryisdischargedbelowitsnominalvoltage,thiscantriggerprocesses
whichdamageordestroythebattery.Thebatteriesarethereforefittedwithelectronics
which warn theuserandshutdown thedevicebeforetotaldischargecan takeplace.
·Frequentoverchargingcanalsopermanentlydamagethebattery.Thechargertherefore
automaticallyfinishes thechargingprocess as soonasthebatteryis fullycharged.Do
notattempttoforcemorechargeintothebatteriesbyunpluggingandreconnecting
thecharger.Suchactionwill notproduceahighercharge-itwillonlydamagethe
batteries.
·Chargingshouldgenerallyonlybeundertakenatroomtemperature(around18-21
degrees).Avoidchargingacoldbatteryasitdamagesthecells.Alwayswarmthe
batteryuptoroom temperaturebeforecharging,especiallywhen itiscoldoutdoors
inwinter.
·Hightemperaturesalsodamagethebattery.Neverleavethebattery,andpreferably
nottheentiretoolbox,inthecarordirectsunlightonhot sunnydays.Attemperatures
above60 degreesCelsius,theLi-ionbatterypermanentlylosescapacity.
·Lithium-ionbatteriesshouldn'tbestoredflatorfullychargedforlongperiods.Extensive
testinghasfoundacapacityof40...50 %andlowtemperatures (butnotbelow0°C)
tobeoptimum forstorage.Ideallytheyshouldbekeptat5°Cto10°C.Rechargingis
neededatleast every12monthsas thebatteries willself-discharge.
·Abatterywhichisnot beingusedshouldbestoredinacoolbutnotcoldplace.Even
whennot beingused,batteriesloseenergy.TheLi-ionbatteryloses3...5%ofits
chargeamonth.
·Ifalithium-ion batteryisnotusedforalongperiod,itshouldberechargedafter12
months atthelatestotherwiseitwillbeirreparablydamaged.
·Old,usedbatteriesmustofcoursebedisposedofinanenvironmentallyfriendly
manner.

11. USE

Tousethebatteryscissorsmanually,proceedasfollows:
1) Releasethebattery(ifitischarged)fromthe
chargerasdescribedatparagraph 13;
2) Connectthebatteryto themotorandfixit
followingtheslotsonthebattery;
3) Laythematerialto becuton atable;
4) Putthematerialonthecuttingfoot(see picture
3);
5) Lettheswitchslideforwardinorderto startthe
scissors;
6) Push thebatteryscissorsinthedesireddirection,
beingcarefulto keepthematerialinfrontofthem
asstretchedaspossibleandpreventingitfrom
curlinginthefrontpartof thescissors.
NOTE
Thethrustonthebatteryscissorsmust beasuniformas
possible.Tocarryoutlinearcuts withprecision(andto
followpredeterminedpaths),wealsorecommendusing
thearrowpoint(see point“A”inpicture4).

12.SPEEDREGULATION

ThescissorsZERO702 havearegulatorfor6speedlevels
(see picture5).It ispossibleto changethespeedalso
whenthescissorsareworking.Thebladespeedcango
from600 rpm(Pos.“1”) to 1000 rpm.
The“standard” positionisposition“2”formostmaterials.
It is advisableto uselowspeedlevels forhard,gummy,
plasticoradhesivematerials.Highspeedlevelsareinstead
suggestedfornaturalfibersandsimplefabricsorwhen
araisedspeedisneeded.
WARNING
Usingthebattery scissorsZERO702 with highbladespeedacceleratesthewearof
themovingpartssuch asblade,counterbladeandgearpair.
Thehighbladespeeddeterminesalsoafasterloss ofbatterycharge.

13. BATTERYCHARGING
Whenthebatteryisdischarged,itisnecessaryto chargeitusingexclusivelythecharger
providedwiththetool.
WARNING
Alwayscheck ifthechargervoltagecorrespondsto thenetworkvoltageof thecountrywhere
thescissorsareused.
DoNOTusechargersthataredifferentfromtheoneprovided(FEINALG 50 -50Hz/230V-
10,8-18V)-(FEINALG 30 -50Hz/230V-10,8-18Voptional).
Releasethebatteryfromthemotorbypushingtheorangebutton,theninsertitinthecharger
followingtheinstructions writtenonthemanualprovidedwiththecharger.
Neverusebatteriesthataredifferentfromtheoneprovided(FEIN18V-3.0Ah-54Wh).
It ispossibleto check thechargingstatus bymeans of theLEDlights placedonthecharger
(see picture6).
WARNING
UsingthestandardchargerCH01 (providedwiththescissors),thetimeneededforacomplete
chargeisabout50 minutes;usingthefast chargerCH02 (optional),thetimeneededfora
completechargeisabout30 minutes.

14. BLADESHARPENING
Aftermanyhoursof acontinuativeuseof thebatteryscissors
oriftheyarenot ableto cutanymore,itisnecessaryto sharp
theblade.Tocarryoutthisoperation,startthebladeand
press sharpeningbutton“1”for3-4seconds(asshownin
picture7).Repeatthisoperation2-3times.
Ifthesharpeningprocessshouldbeineffective,checkthe
wearof theemerygrindingwheel“2”(see picture7).Ifwheel
“2”istoo worn ordirty,replaceitbyremovingthebladewith
thepropertool.

Thesharpeningbuttoncanbeonlypressedifthefrontmobileprotectioniscompletely
lowered.
15. LUBRICATION
Every3-4daysof use,itisnecessaryto lubricatethepair
of gears.Tocarryoutthisoperation,removeprotective
plug“A”locatedontheheadof thebatteryscissorsand
fill itwiththesuppliedlubricatinggrease.
Screwplug“A”againfewturns.Screwplug“A”some
turns every2-3workinghours(see picture8).
Fill theplugagain,onceithasbeentightened.
Theblademust neverbedirtywith greaseoroil.

to replaceit.Inorderto carryoutthisoperation,use
butterflywrench“1”anddrift“3”lockingtheblade
(showninpicture9).
Inorderto replacetheblade,proceedasfollows:
1) Usesomeprotectiveglovesincompliancewith
ItalianLegislativeDecree81/08;
2) Removethesafetybackfixed protection“A”(see
picture10),byunscrewingthetwoslotted
screws“C”bymeansofascrewdriver(not
suppliedbythemanufacturer)asshownin

Removethesafetyfrontmobileprotection“B”

Rasor®ElettromeccanicaS.r.l. batteryscissorshavea12monthwarrantyfromthedateindicated
on thelast pageof this manual,exceptin caseof differentwritten agreements.
Thewarrantycoversallmanufacturingandmaterialdefects.Replacementandrepairoperations
arecoveredonlyifcarriedoutbyourcompanyandatourworkshop.Ifin-warrantygoods
needto berepaired, thecustomermustalwayssendthecompletemachinetoRasor®.
Singleunitswill notbe repairedunderwarranty.
Thematerialto berepairedmust besentCARRIAGEFREE.
Oncetheequipmenthas been repaired,itwill besentCARRIAGEFORWARDto thecustomer.
Thewarrantycoversneithertechnicians'interventiononthesitewherethebatteryscissorsare
usednortheirdisassembly.
Ifforpracticalreasons,oneof ourtechnicians issentto thepremises,thecustomerwill be
chargedthecosts plus thetravellingexpenses.
Thewarrantydoesnot include:
+failurecausedbywronguseorassembly,
+failurecausedbyexternalagents,
+failurecausedbylack of maintenanceorneglicence;
+blades andparts subjectto wear.
WARRANTYFORFEITURE:

+Whenevertheserialnumberistamperedwithorcancelled,

+Whenevertheunitseemstamperedwith,dismantledorpreviouslyrepairedby
