Batteries
Your Caller ID phone uses

AA-size alkaline batteries for receiving
andstoring
Caller ID records
andfor
storing
the
numbers
you
use
for
memory
dialing,
pulse dialing, redial,
and
predial
functionality.

Release
latch onbatterycompartmentand
remove cover
.
2. Insert 4
AA-size
alkaline
batteries
as
shown
on the diagram in the battery
compartment.

Snap
thebatterycompartmentdoor
back
into
place
and
replace
themounting
bracket
.

cord
was previously
connected,
re-attach it to theunit and
check
your
memory
locations.
NOTE:
If the lowbattery
icon appears

to replace

Local
AreaCode
The telephone uses
the
programmed area codes
to
determine
thenumber
format to
display when
a
valid Caller ID signal is received. Numbers
that
match the
local area code
are
displayed as seven digits
andare
used
for
dialing back previous numbers. Entering
your
local area code
will
also
help
you
immediately know
if thecall
is local
or long
distance when viewing
theCID
records
inthedisplay.
NOTE:
If
you make
a
mistake and
want to start
over again, press the
Delete
buttonto
delete
all of
the digits
.

Calls
This
unit
receives
and
displays
informationtransmittedbyyour
local
phone
company. This
informationcan
include
the
phone
number

date,

time;

name, phone

time. The
unit can
store
upto 75
calls
for
laterr
eview
.
When
the
memory is full,
a newcall
automatically replaces
the
oldest
callin
memory. NEW appears
inthe
display
for
calls received
that have
not
been
reviewed.

The incoming ca

service area is

linked

Speakerphone
Location
Your phone features
a
speakerphone
for
ease
of
use
and
convenience
during
a
phone conversation.
Atanytimeduringa
conversation, you
can lift the
handset
to stop
using
the
speakerphone. Likewise,when
youare
using
the
handset
, press
the
Speaker
button and
place
the
handset
inthe
cradle
to
switchto the speakerphone.
Forbest speakerphone performance, avoid
thefollowing:
•
Areas
with high
background noise. (The
microphone
might
pick
upthese
sounds
and
prevent
the
speakerphone
from goinginto the
receiving
mode
whenyou
finish
talking.)
•
S
ur
faces
affected
byvibration.
•
Recessed areas such as
ina
corner
,
under
a
cupboard,
ornextto a
cabinet
,
which can
generate
an
echo
effect
.

following guidelines when using
thespeakerphone:

The speakerphone works similar
to a two-way radiointhat youcanonly
listen
ortalk at
one
time.
•
Stay reasonably close
to the
phone so
that youcanbe
clearly heard

person
to whom youaretalking.

speaker volume

volume

continuously
or

Review

pressing

button.
•
The speakerphone indicator

comes

the Handset and Speakerphone

The volume controls
for the
handset
and
speakerphone
are
separate, so
you
can
adjust one
without affectingthe
other
.
To adjust
the
handset volume,
pick
upthe
handset,press the
Volume
button
continuously
or
press
the
Review
or
buttonsafter
pressing
the
Volume
button.
REC
(handset receiver)
or
SPK
(speakerphone mode)shows
inthedisplay.
While using
thespeakerphone,
adjust
the
speakerphone volume
by
pressing
the
Volume
button continuously
or
pressing
Review
orbuttonsafter
pressing
the
Volume
button.Both
handset receiver
and
speakerphone volume level setting
will be
saved
inthe
unit’s
memory.

Conference
Calls
You
can
use
the
conference
call
feature

three-way
conversation.

connect and conference:

youwant to
use,
thencallthefirst party.
2.
Press
the
Hold
button to put the first party onhold.
3.
Call
the
second party,
or
receive
a
call,
ontheother
line,
then
press
the
Conference
button.
4.
Begin speaking
to both parties.
To
disconnect one of the parties:
Press
the
line
button of the
person
youwant to
continue talking to
,
andthe
otherparty will
automatically be
disconnected.
To
disconnect both parties:
Hang
upthe
handset,or press
Speak
er
.
NOTE:
If
you have
two
lines
on
hold
,
and
you
want to
conference
with both

ties

simply press the Conference
buttonand
pick

Mute
Use
the
Mute
button to interrupt a
phone conversation
to talk
privately
with
someone else
inthe
room. Aconversation
canbemuted
while using

speakerphone
or handset.
