INTRODUCTION
SONY Alpha α6000 Waterproof Housing RDH-SA6000
※Thank you for purchasing the RECSEA RDH-SA6000 Waterproof Housing.
※ To ensure proper and safe use, please thoroughly read this manual.
※ Improper use may cause leakage causing irrepara le damage to your digital camera.
※ Please check, and test the housing according to this manual prior to use.
※Neither NTF Corporation, Seatool/Resea nor their agents shall warrant or ear any
responsi ility for any incident related to water leakage, damage or loss of data,
unauthorized modification, disassem ly and repair; or any accident causing physical or
material damage while using this product.
※This product is manufactured y machining methods. As a result, there may e minor
scratching or tool marks. These are a normal part of the manufacturing process, do not
effect operation of the housing or camera, and are not su ject to warranty or any other
claims.
WARNING!
※ Do not store or leave housing in reach of infants or small children. The strap may cause
chocking and suffocation, or small parts may e swallowed causing injury.
※Please remove digital camera from housing when not in use. Battery malfunction or
damage may cause fire.
※The housing ody is made of Polyoxymethylene (POM). However, saltwater can cause
rusting to some parts so e sure to rinse thoroughly using fresh water without fail.
CAUTION!
※ To prevent water leakage and damage, DO NOT disassem le or modify this housing.
※ Do not store the housing in areas of high humidity, high or low temperatures, or areas of
extreme temperature fluctuation. Doing so may cause deterioration of parts.
※ When diving, use a method of water entry that protects the housing from shock, which can
cause water leakage. If at all possi le have housing handed to you after entering the
water.
※ This housing is designed to withstand depths of 60 meters (197 feet). Using the housing at
deeper depths may cause damage and water leakage. Use caution and monitor depth.
※Remove O-rings or leave housing slightly open when transporting y plane. Pressurization
of a sealed housing during transport may cause damage or make it difficult to open.
※ When opening and closing the housing e mindful of dust and other contaminants, which
may adhere to the to the O-rings, possi ly causing water leakage and damage.
※Always check O-rings prior to each use. Pay special attention to the grease condition and
that the O-rings are seated uniformly in the O-ring grooves with no twists or ulges.
Neglecting to check the O-rings prior to each use may result in water leakage and
damage.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR RDH-SA6000 HOUSING
※Pull Zoom / Focus Dial to free the Gear.
※To remove the Port Lens press Port Lock Button and turn Port to the counterclockwise until
Port ase is alined with housing port grooves.
※To change camera lens Push Lens Release Button up and then down, turn camera lens
counterclockwise.
※The Mode Dial, Control Dial and Control Wheel Dial are designed to turn the camera
Mode, Control, and Control Wheel dials ack and forth via friction from the O-ring that
comes in contact with them inside the housing. Should these controls egin to slip, use a
soft dry cloth to wipe away any oil and other contaminates that may cause the loss of
friction.
※Control Wheel Dial functions as oth rotary and push utton control.
※Use Flash Pop-Up Button and Flash Close Lever to open and close camera flash.

※Please refer to camera manual for explanation of all camera functions.
OPENING AND CLOSING THE BACK COVER
※Please do the following operations in a clean area with low humidity and dust.
Open & Close Dial Locks in two places, in the open position and in the closed position.
1. To open, while pressing the Open & Close Lock Button, turn the Open & Close Dial Lever
to the right (clockwise) and upward as shown a ove.
2. The ack cover will open once the dial is turn completely and lever is in upward position.
3. Carefully remove Back Cover y pulling it free from the Lip-hinge Groove on main ody.
4. To close, place the Back Cover Lip-hinge into the Lip-hinge Groove on the main ody, seat
Back Cover into place and press firmly (Note: Dial will turn to the left (counterclockwise)
and down. Using the Open & Close Dial Lever turn the dial completely to the down
position making sure the Open & Close Lock Button is engages with an audi le “click”.
※NOTE: Firmly press Lock Button to turn dial. Failing to do so may cause damage to
locking mechanisms.
INSTALLING CAMERA
※Please perform proper Housing and Port O-RING MAINTENANCE prior to installation.
※Please conduct the following operations in a clean area with low humidity and dust.
※Camera can e inserted with lens and Gear attached.
1. Remove Eyepiece Cup from camera's Viewfinder and Hooks for shoulder straps so they
do not cause an o struction.

2. Check camera settings, and that attery charge and media storage capacity are
sufficient.
3. Making sure the housing ON/OFF Power Switch is the in proper position, Slowly and
carefully install camera making sure camera does not hit housing's internal controls. If the
camera is not inserted correctly, uttons, dials, and levers may not work properly. (When
lens and Gear are attached to the camera pull Zoom/Focus Dial outward from housing to
disengage and ease actuation.
4. After performing O-ring Maintenance, carefully attach ack cover as instructed in
OPENING AND CLOSING BACK COVER making sure nothing is caught etween the
housing ody and ack cover.
5. After conducting proper O-ring Maintenance on the Housing Port and appropriate Lens
Port for the lens to e to e used, attach Lens Port to Housing Port as instructed elow in
INSTALLING LENS PORT.
6. Fill a ucket with water and perform Pre-Dive Check. Immerse Housing (with Port
attached) several times, starting with short intervals, gradually lengthening time, checking
for water leakage after each interval.
7. When entering water use a method of water entry that protects the housing from shock,
which can cause water leakage. If at all possi le have Housing handed to you after
entering the water.
REMOVING CAMERA
CAUTION! After use in water, water will remain in gaps etween housing, ack cover and
Secure-Latch. Wipe any water off housing with a soft dry towel to prevent water from falling
on camera.
1. If camera flash is deployed, close using the housing Flash Close Lever.
2. Open the ack cover as instructed in OPENING AND CLOSING THE BACK COVER.
3. Carefully tip housing ody ackwards, gently sliding camera out.
INSTALLING LENS PORT
※Please perform proper Housing Port and Lens Port O-ring and Contact Surface
maintenance. Failing to do so may result in leakage.
※Please conduct the following operations in a clean area with low humidity and dust.
※Recsea housings can e used with various Lens Ports and compati le with a variety of
lenses.
CAUTION! Only use the proper Lens Port intended for each lens. Failure to use the proper
Lens Port could result in image vignetting and distortion, as well as possi le water leakage.
1. Place Lens Port over Housing Port with Lens Port Lock Ta aligned with housing's Lens
Port Mount Groove, a ove the Port Lock Button.
2. Place Lens Port over Housing Port with Lens Port Lock Ta aligned with housing's Lens
Port Lock Ta Groove, a ove the Port Lock Button.
3. Make sure the Lens Port is resting evenly on the Housing Port and then push down onto
the Housing Port.
4. With Lens Port evenly pushed down onto Port Mount, rotate Lens Port clockwise until the
Port Lock Button engages with an audi le click.
REMOVING LENS PORT
CAUTION! After use in water, efore removing Lens Port wipe any water off Housing and
Lens Port with a soft dry towel to prevent water from falling into the Housing and onto
camera.
※NOTE: Lens Port cannot e removed with Stro e Mask-External Stro e Connection Mount
attached to the housing. Please remove first.

1. While pressing the Port Lock Button, rotate Lens Port counterclockwise until it stops.
2. Carefully pull Lens Port outwards away from housing to remove.
HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
※The optional port systems are made of polycar onate resin (POM). Excessive vi ration or
impact from dropping or striking can damage the port . Such damage is not covered y
warranty.
※The housing LCD Window and the Lens of optional Lens Port systems are manufactured
using hard coat acrylic. When cleaning please take care not to scratch them. Should the
they ecome scratched please contact Seatool/Recsea or authorized Recsea Service
Center for replacement (Repair fee and return shipping will e charged at normal rates).
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STROBE
※The Accessory Shoe on top of the housing can e used for installation of a target light.
Please e mindful of the weight of the light(s) you intend to use. For heavy lights and
stro es please use Seatool/Recsea genuine tray and grip assem ly and compati le
connector. Please refrain from using lights attached to the Accessory Shoe as a carrying
handle.
CAUTION! Damage is irrepara le.
※While in the housing, the camera's on- oard stro e can e deployed using the housing
Flash-Pop-Up Button. The Sony Alpha α6000 camera on- oard stro e does NOT close
when the camera is turned OFF. Close manually using the housing Flash Close Lever.
※Use the Stro e Mask-External Stro e Connection Mount to connect external stro e fi er
optic ca le.
Connecting fi er optic ca le for external stro e use:
CAUTION! When not is use store Stro e Mask-External Stro e Connection Mount and Mount
Screw in a secure place so as not to lose them.
1. Attach the Stro e Mask-External Stro e Connection Mount to the housing using the
Screw y screwing it into the screw socket provided.
2. Insert plugs (SEA&SEA) or fi er-optic ca le (INON) into sockets provided.
Tripod screw holes are provided for mount tray and grip assem lies to which external stro es
may e attached.

CAUTION! Seatool/Recsea STRONGLY recommends the use of Seatool/Recsea genuine
tray and grip assem lies listed elow under OPTIONS. Leakage or damages due to the use
of non-genuine options are NOT covered under warranty.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION! Allowing saltwater and contaminants to dry on housing can damage functions and
O-rings possi ly causing water leakage. Clean with fresh water only, using a soft, dry cloth to
wipe away water.
※A complete housing overhaul is recommended once every year.
1. After use in salt water, wash off salt and other contaminants y soaking empty housing
thoroughly in a ucket of fresh water (lukewarm) for 10 to 20 minutes.
2. Manipulate all uttons and dials several times to flush out salt deposits and other
contaminants.
3. Wipe any water off housing with a soft dry cloth.
4. Perform O-RING GREASING & MAINTENANCE as instructed elow efore re-installing.
O-RING GREASING & MAINTENANCE ( 1)※
CAUTION! DO NOT use silicone grease other than that provided y Seatool/Recsea.
CAUTION! This housing uses two (2) O-Rings, one (1) housing main ody O-ring which
comes in contact with the housing main ody Contact Surface shown elow, and one (1) Port
O-ring. Please e sure to install the correct O-ring in the proper place. Failure to do so may
result in water leakage.
1. Using the O-ring Removal Pick, remove O-rings.
2. Clean sand, salt, other contaminants and old grease from O-rings.
3. Clean O-ring grooves and O-ring Contact Surfaces using a clean cotton swa .

4. Visually and physically check each O-rings y running it through finger tips, feeling for
cuts, cracks or any other defects that may cause leakage. Such defects will cause water
leakage, if found e sure to replace the O-ring. Be careful not to stretch or pull the O-ring
too much.
5. Squeeze a rice grain sized ead of silicone grease etween your thum and forefinger.
Taking care not to pull or stretch the O-rings too much, uniformly spread grease on O-
rings. Too little grease may cause the O-rings to twist in the groove, possi ly causing
water leakage.
6. Place O-rings in the O-ring grooves, making sure they are uniform, not twisted or ulging
out, possi ly causing water leakage. When closing ack cover, visually check O-ring
Contact Surfaces, tracing a finger over it to making sure no hair, lint or other
contaminants are attached.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
※When housing is not used for long periods, remove O-rings and place in separate plastic
ags to keep them free of dust and other contaminants and store in a place out of direct
sunlight. Please also e careful of prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during use. The
O-rings and housing may ecome deformed, causing water leakage.
※After extended periods of non-use, soak closed empty housing with Lens Port attached in
lukewarm for half a day. Manipulate all uttons and dials several times. Using a soft, dry
cloth wipe away water.
CAUTION!
※The O-ring is an essential part of waterproofing for this housing. Not properly greasing the
O-ring as directed may cause the O-ring to twist in the O-ring groove, possi ly causing
water leakage.
※Always perform the a ove O-ring, O-ring Groove and O-ring Contact Surface maintenance
and greasing every time you open/close the housing.
※Please pay close attention and make sure the O-ring is not twisted or ulging, free of any
contaminants (dirt, hair, etc.), and that foreign o jects do not o struct proper closing of the
housing Back Cover.
※DO NOT clean the housing with volatile organic solvents or chemical cleaning agents such
as thinner, gasoline, and enzine, etc.
※Flash and Monitor windows are manufactured using hard coat acrylic. When cleaning use
a clean soft cloth taking care not to scratch them.

AFTER-SALE SERVICE
Warranty period is one (1) year from purchase for general users, ninety days for commercial
or industrial users. Seatool/Recsea will repair manufacturing defects free of charge during
the warranty period when product is used in accordance with this manual. This warranty is
only valid for Housings purchased from authorized Seatool/Recsea international dealers.
Damage due to customer use, and for any consuma le parts, the repairs will e charged at
normal rates. Shipping costs to and from dealer, or Japan if necessary, shall e orn y the
customer for warranty and all other cases. This warranty does not cover any damage to
digital camera for any reason, including damage caused y water intrusion. Please o tain
insurance for all your equipment. Any repairs due to the following will e charged at normal
rates:
1) Repaired, modified or dissem led y person or company other than Seatoll/Recsea;
2) If damaged in fire, natural disaster such as earthquake, flood, lightning, etc.;
3) Damage caused y dropping, impact, vi ration;
4) When returned for warranty service not accompanied with Warranty Information copy, or if
Warranty Information is altered.
※Warranty does not cover any losses resulting from inopera ility of this product, including
those related to lost profits or any related expenses.
※ Seatool/Recsea will stock parts necessary for repair for five (5) years from stop of
production.
※This product uses some degrada le parts, such as uttons and O-Rings. Seatol/Recsea
recommends overhauling the housing once per year, more frequently if used often.
Overhaul service is charged at normal rates.
