you can considerably prolong the service life of your appliance.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply

ence in a residential installation.This equipment gener-

ates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if

not installed and used in accordance with the instructions,

Before installing the appliance,ensure that its volt-

age corresponds with the supply voltage in your

home (refer to the specications on the appliance

rating plate or technical data). Using a different

voltage may result in re, accident or damage to

the appliance.

When using the extension cord, ensure that its

voltage is the same as specied on the appliance.

The appliance must be grounded.Ensure that it is

connected to a properly grounded power outlet.

Failing to do so may result in electric shock. Use

only grounded extension cords.

CAUTION!

•

Appliance runs hot while operating.Do not touch the

housing while the kettle is operating.Do not lean over

the appliance when the lid is on to avoid scalds.

•

Unplug from outlet when not in use and before

cleaning.Allow the appliance to cool before putting

on or taking off parts. Never handle the plug with

wet hands. Do not pull power cord to disconnect

from the outlet; instead, grasp the plug and pull

to disconnect.

•

Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug

cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any

control to“off”,then remove plug from wall outlet.

•

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter,

or touch hot surfaces. Damaged cord may cause a

shock, re, or lead to a failure that will not be cov-

ered by the warranty.

•

Do not operate anyappliance with a damaged cord

or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has

been damaged in anymanner.Return appliance to

the nearest authorized service facilityfor examina-

tion, repair, or adjustment. Any kinds of modica-

tions or adjustments to the product are not allowed.

All the repairs should be carried out by an autho-

rized service repair center.

•

Never operate the appliance on soft surfaces.

•

Do not cover the unit with any cloth or material

during operation. Failure to do so may result in

overheating or malfunction.

•

Kettle may be used only with a specially designed

base (included).

•

Do not use outdoors.

•

Follow cleaning and general maintenance guide-

lines when cleaning the unit.

•

To protect against electrical shock do not immerse

cord,plugs, or appliance in water or other liquids.

Do not wash the device under running water.

•

Close supervision is necessarywhen any appliance

is used by or near children.

•

This appliance can be used bychildren aged 8 years

and older and people with reduced physical, sen-

sory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience

and knowledge if theyhave been given supervision

or instruction concerning use of the appliance in

a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance. Keep

the appliance,its cord,and all packaging materials

out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made

by children without supervision.

The use of accessory attachments not recom-

mended bythe appliance manufacturer may cause

injuries.

I. PRIOR TO THE FIRST USE

Carefully take the appliance and its detachable parts out of the

package.

Remove all wrapping materials and stickers except for the se-

rial number identication sticker!

After the appliance transportation or storage at low temperature

keep it at room temperature for at least two hours before plug-

ging in.

Wipe the base of the appliance with a damp cloth,then let it dry.

You may notice foreign smell when using the appliance for the

rst time. This does not mean its malfunction.

You are advised to boil water in the kettle a few times before

the rst use to get foreign smell out and disinfect the appliance.

I I. OPERATION

(scheme A3, p. 5)

Before use

Place the kettle and base on a hard, even, dry at surface away

from other objects or surfaces which may be damaged by steam.

NOTE: the appliance is to be used only for heating and boiling

water.

After connecting the kettle to the mains power supplythe indica-

tors on the base will light up for 1 second.A short signal is emit-

ted and the appliance switches to standby mode (no indicator

light).

Water-temperature maintenance mode

This mode switches on automatically after heating and allows a

set water temperature to be maintained (100, 130, 160, 185 or

200°F) (40, 55, 70, 85 or 95°С) for 12 hours. If the water falls

below the set temperature, the heating element switches on

automatically.The water is not reboiled.At the end of the process,

the appliance emits 5 short signals and switches to standby.

Boiling water

In the standbymode,press 210°F (100°C).The indicator lights

up.

If you want to keep the water at a set temperature after

boiling,press the relevant temperature button (100,130,160,

185 or 200°F) (40, 55, 70, 85 or 95°С). The indicator lights

up.

The temperature can be set or changed in the same way during

or after boiling.

3. Press and wait about 3 seconds: the indicator lights up

and the water starts to heat up.

4. When the water has boiled, depending on the settings:

• the kettle switches back into the standby mode (no indicator

light);

• the kettle switches into the temperature-maintenance mode

(the and temperature indicators light up).

5. Press to interrupt the heating process or switch off the

automatic temperature-maintenance mode.

Heating water without boiling

This is the recommended mode for bottled artisan or ltered

water.Water which has not been boiled retains its natural proper-

ties,which is particularly important when brewing premium teas.

1. In the standby mode,press .The indicator lights up.

2. Within 5 seconds,press the temperature button to set the

water temperature (100,130,160,185 or 200°F) (40,55,70,

85 or 95°С). The indicator lights up.

If the temperature is not set within 5 seconds, the appliance

switches to the standby mode (no indicator light).The tempera-

ture can also be changed during the heating process by pressing

the relevant temperature button.

3. Press or wait 5 seconds: the indicator lights up and the

water starts heating up. At the same time, the , and

temperature indicators will light up.

4. When the water has been heated, the kettle goes into the

temperature-maintenance mode (the and temperature

indicators light up).

Boil Dry Protection

The kettle switches off automatically after boiling and when it

is removed from its base.

If the kettle is empty or does not have enough water inside, the

dry-boil protection will switch the kettle off automatically.When

it has cooled down,the appliance will again be ready for use.

Try to avoid activating the dry-boil protection as this can reduce

the life of the appliance.

The Ready for Sky technology

The Ready for Sky technology enables to use the software app of

the same name to control the appliance remotely from a smart-

phone or tablet.

Enable the Bluetooth function on the electric kettle (see

«Bluetooth function»).

The remote control of the Kettle SkyKettle RK-M170S-A is only

possible when the Bluetooth function is on.

For the minimum supported OS version, see the company’s ofcial

website www.redmond.company or the application description at

the App Store and Google Play.

2. Switch on Bluetooth v4.0 on your mobile device.

Open the Readyfor Skyapp,create an account and follow the

prompts that appear on the screen.

4. Open and update the list of available appliances to connect

to the mobile device.

5. From the list of available appliances select the one to be con-

nected.The name of the appliance is the same as the model

number.You can set a newname or stop installation bydefault.

Conrm the connection of the selected appliance and follow the

instructions on the screen of the mobile device.While connecting

the kettle to the control panel the 210°F (100°C) and 185°F

(85°C) or and 130°F (55°C) indicators will light up in turn.

To ensure a stable connection, the mobile device should be no

more than 49 ft (15metres) from the appliance.

Bluetooth function

Press and hold down the“55°C”button for 10 seconds on the

control panel of the Kettle.

2. The button indicators will come on, appliance will switch to

the standby mode.

III. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning, unplug the kettle and leave it to cool down.

Do not clean with abrasives or chemical substances not recom-

mended for items that come into contact with foodstuffs.

Do not immerse the base, electric cable or plug in water: the

electrical contacts must not come into contact with water. Before

using the kettle again, ensure that the electrical contacts are

completely dry.

Periodically clean the surface of the kettle and the base with a

soft damp cloth.A build-up of limescale may form inside the ap-

pliance over time.Use a special kitchen limescale remover (pur-

chased separately) and follow the usage instructions.

The limescale lter can be detached for cleaning: open the lid,

carefully remove the lter, immerse it in a lemon-water solution,

then rinse and replace.

Before repeated operation or storage completely dry all parts of

the appliance.Store the assembled appliance in a dry,ventilated

place away from heating appliances and direct sunlight.

During transportation and storage, do not expose the device to

mechanical stress,that may lead to damage of the device and/or

violation of the package integrity.

Keep the device package away from water and other liquids.
