3.3..4 POSITIONING THE PRINT MEDIA
Norma y the AF635 is a igned so it feeds the print media cen-
tered to the transport system at position “A” (shown be ow).

RENA XPS-80/90
User Guide 3-8
When using narrow media, if the print media covers fewer
than three suction s its, the AF635 can be offset to position B
(as shown be ow). This reduces the risks of raised media cor-
ners causing paper jams. To do this, the stand of the AF635 is
shifted to its forward position, i.e. inserted into the two forward
s its. The diagram be ow shows the AF635 in the forward posi-
tion “B” with a narrow enve ope. The print media is now fed
centered on the second be t.

RENA XPS-80/90
User Guide 3-9
The deca shows the media formats that shou d to be fed cen-
tra y to the second be t (Position B). P= printer F= feeder.
When the AF635 is attached at position B, this
change must also be adjusted ia the printer or
FlexMail offset. Otherwise the position of the printed
image will not match the print position you ha e
selected ia the software. When mo ing the AF635
from position A to position B, the pre iously set alue
must be increased by 42.5mm.
If the print media is ess than 70mm in height (note: the XPS-
80/90 is not specified for this ow va ue!), then feed it centra y
to the transport band under Pos A.

3.3..5 MEASURING THE PAPER OFFSET VALUE
The correct offset va ue can be read off the ru er, ocated on
the safety f ap.
Feed a piece of print media from the feeder, by pressing PAP
momentari y, so it is positioned under the safety f ap. Then
read off the back va ue of the print media edge. The fo owing
diagram shows a C5 enve ope fed at Pos A.
A va ue of 9.8cm (98 mm) can be read off the ru er
Use this va ue as the offset in F exMai .

RENA XPS-80/90
