Printing from a Windows PC
How to Print a Document
1. With an open file/document,
select File, then Print from the
menu of the application. The
Print Dialog Box appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer
name to be used from the drop
down list
3. Click Properties. The printer
properties dialog box appears.
4. Set the print options for each
tab according to how you want
to print.
5. Setting the print options varies
depending on how you want to
print a document. For more
detailed information, see “Print
Options” in the Printing Guide
that came with your machine.
6. Click OK to save the settings.
You’ll return to the first Print
dialog box.
7. Click OK or Print to print a
document.

Duplex Printing
1. To print Duplex (on two sides),
with an open file/document,
select File, then Print from the
menu of the application. The
Print Dialog Box appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer
name to be used from the drop
down list
3. Click Properties. The printer
properties dialog box appears.
4. Display the Setup tab.
5. Click the Duplex drop down
list.
6. Select your duplex (two sided)
choice.
OFF: Your document will print 1
sided.
Open to Left: This will print on
both sides of the paper in a
vertical direction, so the pages
can be read like a book.
Open to Top – Select this to
print on both sides of the paper
in a horizontal direction, so the
pages can be bound and
turned over up and down.
Booklet – Select this to print
on both sides and create a booklet. Only available with booklet finishers.

7. Set other print options you require
and click OK.
8. Click OK or Print to send a print
job. The print job is printed on
both sides of paper in the
specified direction.
Staple Your Print Job
1. To Staple your print job, with
an open file/document, select
File, then Print from the menu
of the application. The Print
Dialog Box appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer
name to be used from the drop
down list
3. Click Properties. The printer
properties dialog box appears.
4. Display the Setup tab.

5. Click the Staple drop down list.
6. Select your Staple choice.
Top Left – Select this to staple
in the upper left and print.
Top Right – Select this to staple
in the upper right and print
Two at Left – Select this to
staple double on the left hand
side and print.
Two at Top – Select this to staple double on the top of document and print.
Two at Right – Select this to staple double on the right hand side and print.
7. Set other print options you require and click OK.
8. Click OK or Print to send a print job. The print job is stapled for each copy.

Printing from a Mac (Apple)
How to Print a Document
1. With an open file/document, select
File, then Print from the menu of the
application. The Print Dialog Box
appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer name to
be used from the drop down list
3. Then click Print.
4. All page setting, print preview
and printer specific features
become visible once the view
is expanded. Toggle the view
by clicking the Aqua Arrow.
5. Printer-Specific options are found in the
Printer Features tab.
For more detailed information, see “Print
Options” in the Printing Guide that came
with your machine.
6. Once you are satisfied with your selections,
click Print.

Duplex Printing
1. To print Duplex (on two sides), with
an open file/document, select File,
then Print from the menu of the
application. The Print Dialog Box
appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer name to
be used from the drop down list
3. You may toggle the Duplex option ON or OFF by clicking the “Two-Sided” box.
When the box is not checked, your documents will print as One-Sided.
When the box is checked, your documents will print as Two-Sided.
4. Set other print options you require and click
Print.
Staple Your Print Job
1. To Staple your print job, with an
open file/document, select File, then
Print from the menu of the
application. The Print Dialog Box
appears.
2. Select the appropriate printer name
to be used from the drop down list
3. Select the Print Options dropdown
box.

4. Then choose Printer Features from the
available options.
5. Printer Features contain two
Feature Sets labeled General 1
and General 2. For Stapling,
select the General 2 option.
6. Then choose the desired Staple
Function from the available
options. Shown at the right is the
typical choice: Top left.

Making Copies
1. Place the originals on the document feeder (Face Up).
2. Select any special options as required (Note – Buttons toggle on/off to the touch):
Select Paper size
Select any Duplexing (two-
sided) copying options
Select Sorting/Stacking option
Select any Stapling option
Select any Hole Punching option

3. Using the number pad, enter the number of copies desired.
4. Press the START key
Scan to E-Mail
In this function, the scanned data can be sent to the specified e-mail address as an
attached file. If your scanned document needs to be sent to other parties, they cannot
reply to the scanned document using “reply to” on e-mail. Therefore, it is
recommended, if the scanned document needs to be shared with others, you scan to e-
mail to your individual e-mail box and then forward that e-mail and attachment as
appropriate or add a group profile and include those email addresses into the group
profile. The file will be sent as a PDF document.

Operations Panel

3. There are 3 methods to select the e-mail address for sending the file.
The first is you could select a name from the
frequently used list that appears in the center of
the screen by Pressing on the name.
The second method is to press the
Manual Entry button.
When the entry screen opens, enter
the full e-mail address (i.e.:
[email protected])
Click the OK button.
The third method is to search the PPS
e-mail directory (LDAP). Start by
clicking the Search Dest. button.
Next, press the PPS-LDAP button.
To search by Name, press the Name
button.

Enter the Name of the
person you wish to send the
document.
NOTE: Names are Case
Sensitive. Press the Shift
key for the first letter. It
automatically returns to lower
case.
After entering the search
name, press the OK button.
After selecting OK, you’re returned to the Search
Destination scree. The entered name will appear in the
Name field.
If this is a Last Name, you need to refine the search to look for Last
Name. To do that, press the Advanced Search button.
The Advanced
Search window
opens. If looking for
a Last Name, press
the End Word
button.
Then press the OK
button.

You are returned to the Search screen. Press the Start
Search button.
A Search Results
screen will appear.
Press the Name to
select it.
Press the To button.
Then press the OK button.
You are returned to the main
scan screen. The address will
display.
To ensure the file is sent in
PDF format, press the Send
File Type / Name button.

Ensure that PDF button is
selected.
Click the OK button.
To preview the document before it
is sent, press the Preview button.
This is optional.
Load the document(s) in the feed tray and press the Start button.
If you selected
Preview, the
Preview screen
will open.
After reviewing
the preview,
press the Send
button.

Turning Off the Power (Shutting Down)
When turning off the power of the equipment, perform the following shutdown
procedure.
Before turning off the power, be sure that the following three conditions are satisfied:
No jobs are left in the printing job list (press the Job List button to view)
The ERROR lamp is not blinking
No PCs are accessing the equipment via the network (Data light blinking)
Flip the Orange button to OFF.
