SYMPTOM
The job of the user who was previously logged in is printed when printing under the
following conditions.
Affected firmware/models:
-Gr-C4 printer firmware ver. 1.01
Affected solution:
-Enhanced Locked Print NX v2.5.000 or later (except v2.5.202).
Occurrence conditions:
-Location free environment
-It takes over 15 seconds (but less than the app. default time-out limit of 60 seconds) for
the print data to be received by the device once the device’s print button is pressed.
-Print job originates from above solution
CAUSE
Printer firmware bug (included in package version 1.00).
SOLUTION
Enhanced Locked Print:
Update Enhanced Locked print v2 to v2.5.202.
GR-C4:
Update the package firmware to ver 1.01 or newer.

UP settings: Processed according to the color recognition
In “A.C.S. Sensitivity”, you can adjust the level of (2) Size Recognition for recognizing whether the
original is full color or black-and-white.
From both Copier or Scanner application, you can specify this setting in the 5-level scale, from 0
(Black & White) to 4 (Full Color).
Note:
Adjust the 5-level scale for A.S.C. Sensitivity from Settings, Copier/Document Server Settings,
Scan, Color Density, Auto Color Select Sensitivity.”

Installation Procedure
•Turn OFF the main power and unplug the power cord from the wall socket. If the
main power is not turned OFF before installing, an electric shock or malfunction
might occur.
•Do not put your hand into the controller box. It will result in a malfunction or injury.
•There is a possibility that the Device Server Option may malfunction due to static
electricity.
Only one of the following network interfaces can be installed at one time:
•File Format Converter
•IEEE 1284 Interface Board
•IEEE 802.11a/g/n Interface Unit
•Device Server Option
1. Remove the interface slot cover [A].
2. Insert the interface board [A] in the interface slot and then fasten it with screws.
When inserting into the slot, push the interface board until it is inserted properly.
3. Attach the ferrite cores to the Ethernet cable, while looping the cable at 3 cm (approx.

1.2 inch) [A] from the each end of the cable.
4. Only for installing this option in North America, bind both cores with cable ties [A] as
shown below.
5. Insert the Ethernet cable [A] into the Ethernet port on this option.
6. Insert the other end of the Ethernet cable to a PC for network setting.
When you install this option on the main machine for the first time, the interface board
must be connected directly to the PC to set up the IP address and other network
settings.
7. Plug the power cord and turn ON the power.

8. Make sure that the machine recognizes this option correctly by doing one of the
following:
Confirm that “Optional Network” is displayed in the setting on the operation
panel at the location shown below.
Location : [System Settings] > [Network/Interface]> [Optional Network]
On the Web Image Monitor, “Optional Network” can be found at the following
location.
Location : [Device Management] > [Configuration] > [Network] > [Option
Network Interface]
1. Access the option’s IP address from a web browser.
2. Ping the option’s IP address from a command prompt on a Windows PC in
the same network as the mainframe.
If the IP address cannot be found (DHCP server), use the MAC address. This
is the number printed on the seal attached to the printed circuit board for the
USB server.
3. Use “RX” + the option’s MAC address and access a web browser.
Example: http://RX0080926A3264
4. Ping the “RX” + “MAC address” from the command prompt, on a windows
PC which is on the same network as the mainframe.

•When installing the Device Server Option Type M37, the installation status is
not shown on the Configuration Page.
•The customer should keep the removed slot cover.
What Do the LED Indications Mean?
When this option is properly installed and recognized by the main machine, the LED
indicators light up under the following conditions.

Notes for Energy Saving Mode Setting
If a machine with this option enters into the energy saving mode, printing is not possible
because of a communication error . Follow the instructions below to disable the machine’s
entering into the energy saving mode.
1. Enter SP mode, and then set SP5-191-001 (Power Setting: Power Str) to "0 (Off)".
IPAddress Setting
This section describes how to set an IP address on this option manually. Not only can you
set an IP address on the same network segment, but it is also possible to set an IP
address on a different network segment to share a single printer with devices in multiple
networks.
•The network setting of this option is initially assigned as follows:
IP address: 192.168.100.100 / Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
•The network setting of the PC must be in the same network segment to
change the network setting of this option.

•Changing the IP address from the operation panel of the main machine.
1. Press [System Settings] in [Settings] on the operation panel.
2. Press [Optional Networks] in [Network/Interface].
3. Set the IP address, Subnet mask and Default Gateway which the customer specified.
•Changing the IP address from a web browser.
Make a note of the current network settings of the PC before Changing the IP
address.
1. Change the IP address on the PC to [192.168.100.xxx (*0 - 255)], and then change
the subnet mask on the PC to [255.255.255.0]. .
2. Open a web browser.
3. Type [http://192.168.100.100/] in the address bar, and then press the “Enter” key.
•The setting screen for this option appears.
4. Click [Network Setting].
5. Enter “root” in the user name textbox and click [OK].
6. Input [IP Address], [Subnet Mask] and [Default Gateway].
7. Set other items if necessary and then press [Set].
8. Close the web browser.
9. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the PC, and then connect the Ethernet cable
to a network device (e.g. switching hub)..

10. Set the IP address of this option in the printer driver which you use.
The following procedure for setting the IP Address has been added.
•Changing the IP address from Web Image Monitor.
•When changing the IP address from Web Image Monitor, start Web Image
Monitor through the main machine’s IP address.
1. Start the Web Image Monitor.
2. Log in as the machine administrator.
3. Point to [Device Management], and then click [Configuration].
4. Click "Option Network Interface".
5. Set the IP address, Subnet mask and Default Gateway specified by the
customer.

Cause
The network connection is disconnected regardless of the
environment. The library did not retry the reconnection when the
connection was lost, and the program remained in an abnormal state.
Workaround
Turn the power off and on and then send the file manually. (The data
remains on the machine)

Communication failure such as cannot receive a fax. (Symptom is
vary as it depends on the combination of setting).

Occurence

The Job log collection settings have been changed from “Inactive”
(default) to “Active” and the following FAX settings have been
changed from “Collect” to “Do not Collect”.
Changing FAX job log collection settings in Web image monitor:
Device Management > Configration > Device settings > Logs
Workaround
Downgrade the Package firmware to ver. 1.03 or earlier.
- If the downgrade is not successful on machines with the FAX
installed, first remove the FAX board and then try the
downgrade. When installing the FAX board again, downgrade
GW FCU3.8-24 (WW) to ver. 01.00.00 or earlier again by using
package (all) ver.1.03 or earlier via SD card, since this problem
occurs due to the combination of FCU and system/copy
firmware.
