Detection Method
The Ind. LuNAR200DTG3 detection isbased on:
¨PIR (PassiveInfra-Red)-whichrespondstochangesintheIRradiationcaused whenan
intrudercrossesthe protected area.
¨MW (Microwave)-whichtransmitssignalsand analyzesthe frequency changesofthe
reflected echofroman intruderusing DopplerEffect.
ALARM isinitiated onlywhen bothtechnologiestriggersimultaneously(except forcertainsituations
inthe ACTmode-seepage4 –“HowACT Works”),thusgreatlyreducing thepossibilityoffalse
alarms.

HowACT Works
Anti-Cloak Technology(ACT )providesthebenefitsofDT(DualTechnology)whileavoidingits
drawbacks.Thispatent pending innovationhascreatedanewstandardfordetectors.
DualTechnology, acombinationof PIR+MW, wasanimportantdevelopment forthe security
industry...but,it has2majorweaknesses:
IRemission blockingcloaks employedbyintrudersenableavoidanceof detection.
PIRsensitivityisreduced whentheprotectedarea’sambienttemperatureapproachesbody
temperature.
Respondingtorequestsfromitscustomerbasetosolvethesepressing problems, RISCOGroup
developedACT -arevolutionaryanti-cloaksolution.
ACT preventsthe alarmsystemfrombeingbypassed,byneutralizingattemptstocamouflageIR
radiation.Usingunique patternrecognitionalgorithms,ACT distinguishesbetween the weakIR
signalof amoving intruderandthe background noiseandthermalinterferencesthatmaycause
falsealarms.
Oncethe presenceofanintruderisrecognized, ACT switchesthesystemautomaticallyfrom
dualchannelPIR/MWmodetosinglechannelMWmode forapredetermined period of time, in
ordertotriggeranalarmutilizingtheMWchannel, andthen returnstodualchannelmode.
Inthesecondcase, when the ambienttemperatureapproachesbodytemperature, the ACT
switchestomicrowave-onlydetection.
Offering significantlyhigherdetectioncapabilitiesaswell asimmunityfromfalsealarms, ACT
thwartseven the mostsophisticated burglars.
HowGreenLineWorks
The Green Linefeatureisused inordertominimizetheMWactivitywhilethe premisesare
occupied. WhentheGreen Linefeatureisenabled,thedetectorshouldreceiveaSet/Unset
indication fromthesecuritypanel.ForRISCO securitypanelstheSet/Unset statuswill benotified
viaBUS, forotherpanelsthe statuswill benotified viathe Set/Unset input terminal.(See Terminal
Blocks page 17)
When the Green Line featureisenabled and thereisaSETstatusindicationfromthepanel, the
detectorisworking normally; bothPIRandMWchannelsareoperating.The detectorwill report
detection tothe panelwhendetection occurseitherinPIRorinMWchannels.
When the Green Line featureisenabled and thereisan UNSETstatusindication fromthepanel,
the detector'sMWchannelisdisabled. The detectorwill report detection tothe panelwhen
detection occursinthe PIRchannelonly.
NOTE:
The processing ofthe detection report fromthe
detector iscompletelydependent on the panelsetting
and isnot related tothe Green Line feature.

INSTALLATION
Preliminarysteps:
¨Beforeinstallation,studythespacetobe protected carefullyinordertochoosethe exact
locationoftheunitforthebest possiblecoverage.
¨Neverinstall theInd.LuNAR200DTG3inanenvironmentthatcausesan alarmcondition
inonetechnology.
¨Avoidinstallationswhererotatingmachines(e.g. fans)arenormallyinoperation withinthe
coverage pattern.Pointthe unitawayfromglass exposed tothe outdoorsand objectsthat
maychange temperaturerapidly.
¨Donotmountthedetectorindirectsunlightornearanyheatsources.Detectionsectors
shouldbepointedeithertowardsawall,floorbutnottowardswindowsorcurtains.The
installation surfaceshouldbesolid, smoothand vibration free
¨Eliminateinterferencefromnearbyoutsidesources.
¨Foroptimumdetection,selectalocationlikelytointerceptanintrudermovingacross the
coveragepattern.
¨Recommendedmounting heightsthatallow18m(60ft)detection,arefrom3.7mto8.6m.

Installation Process:
Toopenthedetector (Figure1), removethe coverbyinserting ascrewdriver(1)intherecess
between the detector’sprotection cap andthecover.Thecoverwill remainattachedtothebaseof
the detector.
Using aPhilipsscrewdriver, releasethe uppercoverscrew(2)and gentlypull upwardthe
detector’suppercover.

To performthe walktest, first enablethe LEDs.
Twominutesafterapplyingpower(warm-up period), walktestthedetectoroverthe entire
protectedarea toverifyproperoperationofthe detectorand observethe Tri-colorLED.The edge
of themicrowavepatternisdeterminedbythefirst redLEDactivation (bothPIRandMWLEDsare
triggered).
NOTE:
Ifthe PIR/MWLEDsdo notTURN ON, probablyit meansthat
thereisaproblemwitheither the lens(PIR) position, orMW
adjustment!
Adjust themicrowavesensitivitybyturningthePCBpotentiometer(using ascrewdriver), orby
using the RemoteControldevice. Walktest the unit fromall directionstodetermine all the
detection patternboundaries.
NOTE:
Adjust the MWtothe lowest possiblesetting thatwillstill
provide enough coveragefor the entireprotected area!
When usingtheRemoteControldevice, it isrecommendedtoperformthe LuNARSelfTest; for
furtherinstructionsrefertotheRemoteControlInstructions.
