10. Detailed Description
Suitable for individuals with movement difficulties. The swing can also be set in motion
using the hands on the ground. Games such as picking up bean bags, throwing at targets
while swinging are also possible. Can be used in all body positions such as lying face down,
on the back or sitting up. Even nervous users will soon gain confidence when using this
swing. Height adjustable. Cover: brushed canvas (100% cotton).
11. Safety
ALWAYS SUPERVISE THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT
Use indoors, in dry environments.
Use on a safe suspension system, capable of holding the product’s weight and allowing
for the movement of the swing.
Take time to familiarise yourself with the uses, care and maintenance of Sensory
Integration equipment before installation and use.
This product is not a toy. Any activity involving motion, height, or rotation may cause
serious injury. This product is intended for use under the supervision of trained
professionals.
An appropriate suspension system is not included - see the ROMPA® catalogue or
website (www.rompa.com) for details of Safety Rotational Device, Safety Snap,
Height Adjuster etc.
NOTE: All hanging equipment requires a minimum ceiling height of 8 feet/2.5 metres
and should be positioned a clear distance of 6 feet/1.8 metres from any adjacent
walls and other obstacles.
All equipment should be regularly checked. See Maintenance Checklist.
The Suspension Swing should never be used without professional supervision.
A crash mat should be placed under all suspended equipment.
Wall matting should also be used.
Only Steel Safety Snaps should be used. Aluminium Safety Snaps present a health
hazard and wear more quickly.

Remove all packaging and either store this in a safe place out of reach of clients or
dispose of this responsibly. Plastic bags and wrapping can be hazardous to children
and vulnerable people.
Should any seams become damaged, contact ROMPA®immediately to arrange repair
or replacement.
Keep away from sources of heat and fire.
Make sure all fastenings are securely closed before use.
The swing is intended to be loaded with a person, not objects.
For users 3 years and over.
12. Technical Specification
Material: Brushed canvas (100% cotton)
Working load: 100kg (each separate rope can support up to 250kg but total working
load is 100kg).

13. Installation
Unpack.
Check product to ensure that it hasn’t been damaged in transit.
In the unlikely event that any problems are found, contact
ROMPA® immediately.
Attach each strap to a ring (not included, see right) or to a one-
point attachment (e.g. a Safety Snap from a Safety Rotational
Device).
The snap hooks are opened using a tilt mechanism –see below.
The support ropes have eyelets every 7cm. By pulling the support rope through the
eyelet you can adjust the position of the swing. Adjust the height of the ropes till
they are all the same.

A Rotational Device should also be used.
Attach the safety snap/Rotational Device to your suspension system. The distance
between the ground and the swing must be at least 40cm.

14. Care and Maintenance
Organise a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule.
All parts of the Suspension Swing should be checked on a monthly basis and a record
kept on the Maintenance Checklist provided.
Worn parts should be replaced or repaired immediately.
Check for wear on Safety Snap.
Check ropes for fraying.
Should any wear be found, discontinue use and replace any worn parts immediately.
Store in a safe place out of direct sunlight when not in use.
Store out of reach of clients –do not allow unsupervised use.
FABRIC MAINTENANCE
If you look after your Suspension Swing it should give you many years of service, but please
observe the following:-
1. Fabric may wear, tear or “rub off” if subjected to sharp objects or continual rubbing by
hard objects. Avoid shoes, buckles or sharp/hard objects.
2. Wipe off accidental marks/liquids using a mild detergent and a damp cloth, avoiding
excessive amounts of water.
3. Do not use cleaners with abrasives in them or solvent-based cleaners such as
trichloroethane or carbon tetrachloride. Use only very mild cleaning products. Do not
steam clean.
