
(with the rope attached) fall off the side of the lawn tractor or ATV. If the
mower’s engine does not cut off, adjust and retest until corrected. This feature
of the C30-CE5 mowers is to ensure the safety of the operator in case he/she
is thrown from the seat.
Operating the machine
1. Place the throttle in the choke position.
2. Insert the safety kill switch key.
3. Pull the engine’s starter cord.
4. When the engine cranks, slow to idle and allow the engine to warn up for several
minutes.
NOTE: If the engine is hard to crank consult the engine manufacturer’s owner’s
manual for details.
1. After the engine has warmed up, move the throttle to the operating position.
2. Attach safety rope to the operator.
3. Start the lawn tractor or ATV’s engine and proceed to mow in slow gear.
4. o Not mow in reverse unless absolutely necessary and only after careful
observation of the area behind the mower.
Stopping the mo er
Idle the engine down, remove the kill switch key, stop the engine of the lawn tractor
or ATV and allow the mower blades to come to a complete stop before dismounting.
Operating Techniques
1. Follow mowing techniques in operator’s manual.
2. One rear tire is locked in the running position to help stabilize it on inclines. Be
sure to adjust it when changing cutting height.
Lubrication and Maintenance
Follow mower maintenance as laid out in the operator’s manual for the mower and
engine maintenance as described in the engine operator’s manual.
Belt Tension
1. Shut off engine and remove the safety kill switch.
2. Remove one of the belt shields by unscrewing the three 10mm bolts.
3. Clean foreign material from the mower deck and belt area.
4. Check the main drive belt tension by applying a force of 1.4 - 1.8 Kg (3-4 lbs.)
