2. SICHERHEITSANWEISUNGEN
• Die Zubehörteile des Geräts werden bei der Benutzung sehr
heiß, bringen Sie sie deshalb nicht mit der Haut in Berührung
kommen. Versichern Sie sich, dass das Stromkabel nicht mit den
heißen Teilen des Geräts in Kontakt gerät.
• In folgenden Situationen ist das Gerät auszuschalten (Stecker aus der
Dose ziehen):
- Vor jeder Reinigung oder Wartung
- Im Falle einer Betriebsstörung
- Sobald Ihre Frisur fertig ist
- Wenn Sie (auch für nur kurze Zeit) weggehen.
• Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die Spannung Ihrer Elektroinstallation mit der
Spannung Ihres Geräts übereinstimmt. Fehlerhafte Anschlüsse können zu
irreversiblen Schäden führen, die nicht von der Garantie gedeckt sind.
• Für einen zusätzlichen Schutz wird empfohlen, im elektrischen Kreis für
die Stromversorgung des Badezimmers eine Differenzstromeinrichtung
mit einem Betriebsdifferenzstrom von höchstens 30mA einzubauen.
Wenden Sie sich an Ihren Elektroinstallateur.
• Das Gerät nicht längere Zeit bei unter 0°C und über 40°C (z.B. hinter
einem Fenster in der prallen Sonne) aufbewahren.
• Das Gerät nicht längere Zeit der direkten Sonnenbestrahlung aussetzen.
• Wichtig: Das Gerät darf nicht in Wasser getaucht oder unter fließendes
Wasser gehalten werden.
• Achtung : Verwenden Sie Ihr Gerät niemals mit nassen Händen oder in
der Nähe von mit Wasser gefüllten Badewannen, Waschbecken oder ande-
ren Behältern.
• In Ihrem Badezimmer kein Verlängerungskabel verwenden.
• Bei Verwendung das Gerät außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern
halten; das Gerät kann sehr heiß werden.
• Wenn das Gerät an oder mit Kindern oder behinderten Personen verwendet
wird, ist eine aufmerksame Beaufsichtigung erforderlich.
• Achten Sie beim Einbau des Zubehörs darauf, dass dieses gut in seinem
Sitz einrastet, damit es perfekt befestigt ist.

3 - GEBRAUCHSANWEISUNG
Die Haare müssen durchgekämmt, sauber undTROCKEN sein (damit
sie nicht angegriffen werden).
1. Stellen Sie den Lockenstab auf einer flachen Unterlage auf dem
Träger auf.

2. Bild Nr. A : Stecken Sie den Stecker in die Steckdose. Wählen
Sie dieTemperatur, die sich zum Wellen Ihres
Haares am besten eignet:
- 1 : feines und empfindliches Haar
- 2 : normales Haar dickes, schwer zu frisierendes Haar
Bild Nr. B : Stecken Sie den Stecker in die Steckdose und stellen
Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter auf “ON”. Wählen Sie die
Temperatur, die sich zum Wellen Ihres Haares am bes-
ten eignet:
- Bereich • : feines und empfindliches Haar
- Bereich •• : normales Haar
- Bereich ••• : dickes, schwer zu frisierendes Haar
Warten Sie 10 Minuten, bis das Gerät die richtigeTemperatur erreicht
hat.
3. Trennen Sie eine 2 bis 3 cm breite Strähne ab.
4. Öffnen Sie die Lockenstabschere, legen Sie die Spitze der Strähne
unter den sich öffnendenTeil.
5. Lassen Sie den Hebel los, so daß die Haare festgeklemmt werden.
Vergewissern Sie sich, daß die Haarspitzen auf der anderen Seite
der Lockenstabschere zu sehen sind. Halten Sie den Lockenstab mit
der anderen Hand am isolierten Ende fest.
6. Drehen Sie das Gerät so, daß die Strähne möglichst weit bis zum
Haaransatz aufgewickelt wird, ohne sich dabei zu verbrennen.
7. Halten Sie ihn ca. 20 Sekunden in dieser Position (bzw. weniger,
wenn Sie nur leichte Wellen im Haar wünschen).
8. Wickeln Sie die Strähne bis zur Hälfte ab und öffnen Sie den Stab,
damit die Locke herausgleiten kann.
9. Wiederholen Sie den Vorgang mit der nächsten Strähne.
Sie können die Locken, NACHDEM SIE ABGEKÜHLT SIND, durch-
kämmen, damit sie natürlicher fallen.
4 - BENUTZUNG DES BÜRSTENAUFSATZES
Setzen Sie die Bürste fest in den Lockenstab ein. DEN AUFSATZ
ERST VERWENDEN, NACHDEM DER LOCKENSTAB ABGEKÜHLT
IST, DA SIE SICH SONST VERBRENNEN KÖNNTEN.
Wählen Sie dieTemperatur entsprechend den Angaben oben
Bürsten Sie Ihr Haar vom Haaransatz bis zu den Spitzen.
5 - REINIGUNG
Ziehen Sie den Stecker heraus, stellen Sie den Lockenstab auf den
Träger und lassen Sie ihn abkühlen.
Reinigen Sie den Lockenstab erst, wenn er vollkommen abgekühlt
ist. Wischen Sie den Griff mit einem weichen feuchten Lappen ab.
Achten Sie darauf, daß niemals Wasser oder eine andere
Flüssigkeit in den Griff eindringt.
6. DENKEN SIE AN DEN SCHUTZ DER
UMWELT !
Ihr Gerät enthält wertvolle Rohstoffe, die wieder verwertet
werden können. Geben Sie Ihr Gerät deshalb bitte bei
einer Sammelstelle Ihrer Stadt oder Gemeinde ab.

2. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• The appliance’s accessories become very hot during use.
Avoid contact with the skin. Make sure that the supply cord never
comes into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
•The appliance must be unplugged:
- before cleaning and maintenance procedures.
- if it is not working correctly
- as soon as you have finished using it
- if you leave the room, even momentarily.
• Check that the voltage of your electricity supply matches the voltage of
your appliance. Any error when connecting the appliance can cause irrepa-
rable harm, not covered by the guarantee.
• As an additional safety measure, we recommend the installation of a resi-
dual current difference device in the electrical circuit supplying the
bathroom, acting at not more than 30 mA. Ask your installer for advice.
• Caution : Never use the appliance with wet hands or near baths, basins or
other recipients containing water.
• When using the appliance in the bathroom, unplug it after use as the
presence of water nearby may pose a danger even when the applian-
ce is turned off.
• Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is used on or in the pre-
sence of children or disabled people.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
after-sales service or a person with similar qualifications, to avoid all danger.
• Stop using your appliance and contact an Authorised Service Centre if:
- your appliance has fallen
- it does not work correctly.
• If your appliance is not working correctly, see "Troubleshooting", or contact

WIRING INSTRUCTIONS - FOR U.K. ONLY.SAFETY NOTES FOR REWIREABLE OR MOULDED PLUG
The mains lead of this appliance may be already fitted with a BS 1363 13 A plug.
Should the fuse need to be replaced, a 13 A ASTA approved BS 1362 fuse must be used.
If your socket outlet is not suitable for the plug, then the plug must be removed (cut off if it is a moulded on plug) and an appro-
priate one fitted. Warning : dispose of a plug that has been cut from the power supply
cord, as such a plug is hazardous if inserted in a live 13 A socket outlet elsewhere in the
house.
Always replace the fuse cover after fitting a fuse.The plug must NOT be used if the
cover is omitted or lost until a replacement is obtained
- make certain that only the correct fuse cover is used and fitted.
For plugs with a detachable fuse cover the replacement must be the same as the colour
insert in the base of the plug, or as directly by the embossed wording on the base of
the plug.
If the detachable fuse cover is lost, a replacement may be purchased from an approved
Rowenta Service Centre (see enclosed Service Information leaflet). Information for sup-
ply may also be obtained from the plug manufacturer.
U.K ONLY - FITTING A PLUG
Important : the wires in this lead are coloured in accordance with the following codes Blue, Neutral, Brown, live. Please read the
instructions given below before connecting the cord to a plug. If in doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of
this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows :
• the wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter " N " or coloured BLACK.
• the wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter " L " or coloured RED.
Neither core is to be connected to the earth terminal of a three-pin plug.
This appliance requires a 13 fuse ASTA approved to BS 1362.

3 - RECOMMENDATIONS
Your hair must be untangled, clean and DRY (in order not to damage your
hair).
1. Put your curling tong on a flat surface, balanced on its safety stand.
2. Mod. A : Plug in the appliance. Select the right temperature to curl
your hair with efficiency and optimum care :
- 1: fine or delicate hair
- 2 : normal hair, thick or difficult to curl hair
2. Mod. B : Plug in the appliance and switch it on. Select the right
temperature to curl your hair with efficiency and opti-
mum care :
- • : fine or delicate hair
- •• : normal hair
- ••• : thick or difficult to curl hair
Wait for 10 minutes until the appliance reaches the right temperature.
3. Part a thin section of hair 2-3 cm wide.
4. Open the spoon by pressing the automatic curl release and slide
the tip of the hair section between the spoon and the barrel.
5. Release the tongs to close. Ensure that the tip of the hair section
comes out on the other side of the spoon. Hold the stay cool tip
with your free hand.
6. Turn the appliance in order to wrap up the hair section around the
accessory. Wrap up the curl as near to the scalp as possible without
getting burnt.
7. Hold the hair section in this position for approximately 20 seconds
for tight curls (less than 20 seconds if you wish to have softer curls).
8. When you have obtained the required curl, half unroll the curled
section of hair. Open the tongs by pressing the automatic curl
release and let the curl slide out.
9. Repeat this operation to form a new curl.
You may comb or brush your hair slightly AFTER HAVING LET
THE CURLS GET COLD, so as to obtain a result of more natural
waves.
4 - USE OFTHE BRUSH ACCESSORY (Mod.B)
Slide the brush attachment over the tong and make sure it holds well.
ONLY DOTHIS WHENTHE CURLING IRON IS COLDTO AVOID GET-
TING BURNT.
Select the temperature as described before.
Brush your hair from root to tip.
5 - CLEANING
Unplug the appliance and let it get cold on its stand.
Clean it when it's perfectly cold. Wipe the handle with a damp soft
duster. Never use water or any other liquid inside the handle.
