CARE / MAINTENANCE
GENERAL CARE
RRS ball heads are finished with a protective anodize plating that
protects the aluminum from corrosion and mild abrasion. It will not
protect it from scraping against or dropping on rocks/concrete/etc.
CLEANING
If your ball head is fouled, dry dust and dirt can be blown off and/
or wiped off with a soft cloth. Mud or salt water should be lightly
rinsed off with fresh water and then thoroughly dried. DO NOT
submerge your ball head when washing and do not direct a high-
pressure stream of water at the ball head.
DO NOT attempt to remove the knobs. If fine sand/grit fouls the
knob, simply run a gentle stream of water around the knob while
rotating it one-half turn back and forth.
LUBRICATION
RRS ball heads are lubricated at the factory and parts that require
lubrication are sealed. NO LUBRICATION IS REQUIRED BY THE
USER. DO NOT LUBRICATE THE BALL as this will decrease the lock-
up capacity. Keep ball free from contamination to maintain smooth
action.

GENERAL BALL HEAD USE
| Attach Ball Head to Tripod
| Reposition Main Lock T-Lever*
1Tighten the pan lock knob to lock the
panning base.
2Screw ball head onto the 3/8”-16
threaded stud on top of the tripod.
Tighten ball head onto tripod snugly,
but do not over-torque or it will be
difficult to remove.
1Pull the T-Lever out.
2Rotate T-Lever to new position.
3Re-seat the T-Lever back in.

| Adjust the Drag Set*
| Using the Panning Base
1Remove your camera or hold it in place.
2Loosen the Main Lock Knob or T-Lever by rotating in the
opposite direction of the arrow (counter-clockwise).
3Tighten the Main Lock Knob or T-Lever to your preferred
amount of resistance by turning in the same direction of the
Arrow and Lock symbol (clockwise).
4Turn the Drag Set Knob in the direction of the arrow until it
stops, then loosen the Main Lock Knob or T-Lever.
DO NOT use the drag-set knob for locking/unlocking the ball;
doing so will damage the ball head.
1Loosen the Pan Lock Knob.
2Rotate the ball head body around the base into desired position.
3Lock the Pan Lock Knob.
