RS UTS-ELS Manual

Issued 04/1999 V9988
801-544
It is important to take the following precautions when using your UTS-
ELS all weather telephone. This way it gives you a long and trouble free
life.
1. Do not dismantle your UTS, it’s sealed for life.
2. Although the UTS is waterproof it is not submersible and may leak
causing internal damage.
3. Do not stretch the line cord excessively as this may cause the cord
grip to snap.
4. Use the batteries specified, not the zinc carbon type (a suitable
replacement battery is RS stock no. 591-792).
Dialling
UTS automatically selects tone dialling when connected to a line.
