GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
Warning: Be sure to read and
understand all instructions in the
manual before using this product.
Failure to follow all instructions
may result in hazardous radiation
exposure. SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTIONS.
Warning: Do not attempt to modify
the performance of the laser device
in any way. This may result in
a dangerous exposure to laser
radiation.
Warning: Laser radiation. Do not
stare into the beam. Turn the laser
beam on only when using this tool.
Always turn off laser when not in
use.
Warning: Use of controls,
adjustments, or the performance
of procedures other than those
specified in the manual may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
Warning: The use of optical
instruments such as, but not limited
to, telescopes or binoculars to view
the laser beam will increase the
hazard for serious eye injury.
This measuring tool has a built-in laser
light. The laser is a Class 2 product and
emits output power of maximum 1mW
and 650nm wavelength.
The following label is on your digital
laser distance measurer. Be aware
of the laser light location when using
the tool. Always make sure that any
bystanders in the vicinity of use are
made aware of the dangers of looking
directly into the laser.
Do not remove or deface any product
labels.
Warning: Avoid direct eye
exposure. The laser beam can
cause flash blindness.
Warning: The digital laser
distance measurer is not a toy.
Always keep it out of the reach
of children. The laser light emitted
from the device should never be
directed toward any persons or
animals for any reason. Never
aim the laser at vehicles. You may
distract the driver.
Warning: Do not operate the tool
around children or allow children to
operate the tool.
Warning: Do not place the tool in
a position that may cause anyone
to stare at the beam, whether
intentionally or unintentionally.
Warning: Do not aim the laser
beam at surfaces that are shiny or
reflective. The reflective surface
could reflect the beam back at the
operator or other persons.
Warning: If damaged, do not
attempt to repair or disassemble the
laser measuring tool. If unqualified
persons attempt to repair this
product, serious injury may occur.
Any repair required on this laser

Safety

product should be performed only by
authorised service personnel.
Warning: Do not operate the
tool in explosive or combustible
areas, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Warning: Use of other accessories
that have been designed for use
with other laser tools could result in
serious injury.
Warning: Keep batteries out of
reach of children.
LASER DISTANCE MEASURER
SAFETY WARNINGS
Your laser distance measurer is a
laser class 2 precision instrument.
Please observe the following
guidelines to ensure optimal
performance:
■Do not attempt to change any part
of the laser device. This may result
in a dangerous exposure to laser
radiation.
■Do not disassemble the laser distance
measurer. This may expose the user
to hazardous radiation exposure.
■The laser distance measurer has
limits of use. (Refer to the “PRODUCT
SPECIFICATIONS” section). Attempts
to measure outside the maximum and
minimum range will cause inaccuracy.
Use in adverse conditions including
too hot, too cold, very bright sunlight,
rain, snow, fog, or other vision
restricting conditions will result in
inaccurate readings.
■Aiming the laser at high-gloss
surfaces may deflect the laser
beam and result in inaccurate
measurements.
■When the laser distance measurer is
brought into a warm environment from
very cold conditions, or vice versa,
allow it to come to the surrounding
temperature before use.
■Always store the laser distance
measurer indoors, avoid exposing the
tool to shock, continuous vibration or
extreme temperatures.
■Always keep the tool away from dust,
liquids and high humidity. These may
damage internal components or affect
accuracy.
■Do not direct the laser distance
measurer towards the sun or other
sources of bright light. This may
cause an error reading or inaccurate
measurements.
■Do not use aggressive cleaning
agents or solutions. Use only a clean,
soft cloth for cleaning. Treat the
optical surfaces with the same care
that you would apply to eyeglasses or
cameras.
■Avoid heavy impact to or dropping of
the measuring tool. The accuracy of
the tool should be checked before use
if it has been dropped or subjected to
other mechanical stresses.
■The laser distance measurer must not
be disposed with household waste.
Dispose appropriately according to
your local ordinance.
■Before use and before the product is
switched on, look at the lens and the
laser and check for misalignment. If
the laser has moved (due to impact
or similar) it may cause the beam
to be pointed in a direction you do

Safety
3
not expect. If the lens has moved,
measurement may be impossible or
inaccurate.
Battery tool use and care
■Replace the batteries when the
battery indicator shows empty. Make
sure to install the batteries with
correct polarity.
■Always remove the batteries from the
laser distance measurer when not
using it for an extended period of time.
■To ensure reliable use, make sure the
batteries (2x AAA) match each other
in brand and type.
■Do not mix old and new batteries.
■Remove dead batteries immediately,
and dispose of them according to your
local ordinance. Never dispose of
batteries in fire.
■Do not try to recharge alkaline
batteries.
INTENDED USE
The laser distance measurer is intended
for measuring distances, lengths, heights
and calculating areas and volumes.
The laser distance measurer can be
used indoors and outdoors.
RESIDUAL RISKS
Even when the product is used as
prescribed, it is still impossible to
completely eliminate certain residual risk
factors. Special attention should be paid
by anyone handling this product to the
following hazard.
Risk of severe eye injury if the laser
beam is directed at persons or animals.
