Programming Instructions

1 small roll of paper
Pre-Setup
Remove cash register from box
Ensure all packaging materials are fully removed
Remove the cardboard protectors from cash draw
Plug register into power
Turn power on at register
Turn key to REG position
Step 1 – General Setup
1. Lift and pull the paper cover from back
2. Remove any packaging material
3. Push the blue lever on top and lift
4. Remove paper from plastic
5. Place paper in register ensuring the paper is being feed from the bottom
6. Close lid
7. Tear off excess paper
8. Replace cover
: warning message will appear. Press red CLEAR button to remove warning.
press 1 on the grey numerical keys then press clerk button
Step 2(a) – Programming PLU button descriptions on the preset buttons )
1. Using the key marked P - turn to the PGM position
2. Enter 3 0 0, and press SUB TOTAL key
3. Select the PLU you wish to program (by either Pressing one of the PLU keys on the keyboard, or
Entering the number of the PLU using the keypad and pressing the PLU key)
4. Overlay the Alpha keyboard and type your description and press the X/TIME key
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 above for all your PLU descriptions
6. Press CASH when finished to save
Step 2(b) – Programming PLU descriptions for Barcode Scan items (optional if using
barcode scanner)
1. Using the key marked P - turn to the PGM position
2. Enter 3 0 0, and press SUB TOTAL key
3. Select the PLU you wish to program by scanning the Product
4. Overlay the Alpha keyboard and type your description and press the X/TIME key
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 above for all your PLU descriptions
6. Press CASH when finished to save

Step 3 – PLU PRICE Programming
1. Turn key to the PGM position
2. Enter 2 0 0, on the keyboard and press the SUB TOTAL key
3. Press the PLU button you wish to program or if a Scanable item, scan with barcode
scanner.
4. Enter the desired price (e.g. for $25 enter 2500) and press the X/TIME key
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 above for all your PLU's
6. Press CASH to finish and save
Step 4 – Receipt Header Programming (also called preamble)
1. Turn key to the PGM position
2. Enter 7 0 0, on the keyboard and press the SUB TOTAL key.
3. Press number of the line that you wish to program then press X/TIME key to start
(see table below)
4. Overlay the Alpha programming keyboard template and type your description and
press the SBTL button
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 above for each line you wish to program
6. Press CASH key to finish

Postamble = text at the end of the tax invoice
e.g. 1st line – Have a nice day
2nd line – Thank you for shopping at Shop ABC
(OPTIONAL) Setting Up Other Devices on Your ER380M Cash Register
