Converting electromagneticfieldwavetoacousticwave and then pass thespecificfrequency band.

4.VC-TCXO (OSC101)
Thismodulegeneratesthe26MHzreference clockto drivethelogic and RF.Afteradditionalprocess,thereference clock
appliestotheU102 RxIQdemodulatorand TxIQmodulator.And then,theoscillatoriscontrolled by serialdatato
selectchanneland usefast lockmodeforGPRShigh class operation.
5.Transceiver (U102)
Thereceiver front-end whichamplifiestheGSM,DCSaerialsignal,convertsthe chosenchanneldowntoalowIFsignal
of100 kHz.Thefirststageiscomposed ofsymmetrical lownoise amplifiers(LNAs).Theyarematchedto 50 ohm.The
LNAsarefollowed by anIQdownmixer.Itconsistsoftwomixersin parallelbutdriven by quadratureoutofphaseLO
signals.TheIn phase(I) and Quadraturephase(Q) IFsignalsarelowpass filteredto provideprotection fromhigh
frequency offset interferes.ThelowIFIand Qsignalsarethenfedintothe channelfilter.Thefront-end lowIFIand Q
outputsentertheintegrated bandpass channelfilterwith provision for five8 dBgainstepsinfrontofthefilter.
2)TXPART
Baseband IQsignalfedinto offsetPLL,thisfunction isincludedinsideofU102 chip.OSC100 chip generatesmodulator
signalwhich powerlevel isabout6.5dBmand fedintoPowerAmplifier(U101).ThePAoutputpowerand power ramping

1.1.PowerManagement
Tenlow-dropoutregulatorsdesignedspecificallyforGSMapplicationspowertheterminaland helpensureoptimal
systemperformance and long batterylife.Aprogrammableboostconverterprovides supportfor1.8V,3.0V,and 5.0V
SIMs,whileaself-resetting,electronicallyfusedswitchsuppliespowertoexternalaccessories.Ancillarysupport
functions,suchasRTCmodule and High VoltageChargepump,Clock generator,aidinreducing both boardarea and
systemcomplexity.
I2C BUSserial interface providesaccess tocontroland configuration registers.Thisinterface givesamicroprocessor
full controlofthePCF50601 and enables systemdesignerstomaximize bothstandby and talktimes.
Supervisoryfunctions.including aresetgenerator,aninputvoltagemonitor,and atemperaturesensor,supportreliable
systemdesign.Thesefunctionsworktogethertoensurepropersystembehaviorduring start-up orinthe eventofa
fault condition(lowmicroprocessorvoltage,insufficientbatteryenergy,orexcessivedietemperature).
1.2.BacklightBrightness Modulator
TheBacklightBrightness Modulator (BBM)containsaprogrammablePulse-widthmodulator (PWM)and FET to
modulatetheintensity ofaseriesofLED’sortocontrolaDC/DCconverterthatdrivesLCDbacklight.
Thisphone(SGH-E800)usePWMcontrol tocontrast thebacklightbrigtness.
1.3.ClockGenerator
TheClockGenerator (CG)generatesall clocksforinternaland externalusage.The32768 Hz crystaloscillator
providesanaccuratelowclockfrequencyforthePCF50601 and othercircuitry.
2.LCDConnector
LCDisconsisted ofmainLCD(color65KTFT LCD).
ChipselectsignalsintheU500,LCD_CS,canenableLCD.BACKLIGHTsignalenableswhiteLEDofmainLCD.
Thesesignal isfromU400.
16-bit datalines(LD(0)~LD(15)) transfersdata and commandstoLCD.Data and commandsuse"RS"signal.If this signal
ishigh,InputstoLCDare commands.If it islow,InputstoLCDaredata.Thesignalwhichinformstheinputoroutput
statetoLCD,isrequired.But this systemisnotnecessarythis signal.So"L_WR"signal isusedtowritedataor
commandstoLCD.PowersignalsforLCDare"LCD_VDD".
3.IRDA
This systemusesIRDA module,HSDL_3208,Agilent's.Thishas signals,"IRDA_DOWN"(enablesignal),"RXD0"(input
data)and "TXD0"(outputdata).Thesesignalsare connectedtoOM6359.Itusestwo powersignals."VDD2"isusedfor
circuit and "VBAT"isusedforLED.

and signalprocessor IC.
7.BatteryChargeManagement
Acomplete constant-current/constant-voltagelinearcharger forsingle cell lithium-ion batteries.
If TAconnectedto phone,"V_EXT_CHARGE"enable charger ICand supplycurrent to battery.
Whenfault condition caused,"CHG_ON"signal levelchangelowto high and charger ICstop charging process.
8.Audio
EARP_Pand EARP_NfromOM6359 are connectedtothemainspeaker.AUXSP isconnectedtotheHandsfree kit.
MIC_Pand MIC_Nare connectedtothemainMIC.And AUX_MIC_Pand AUX_MIC_Nare connectedtoearmicrophone.
YMU765_MA5isaLSI forportabletelephonethat iscapableofplaying high qualitymusicby utilizing FMsynthesizer
and ADPCMdecorderthatareincludedinthisdevice.
Asasynthesis,YMU765_MA5isequipped32FMvoicesand 32 WaveTablevoices.Since thedevice iscapableof
simultaneously generating up tosynchronouswiththeplay oftheFMsynthesizer,various sampled voicescan beusedas
sound effects.
Since theplay dataofYMU765_MA5areinterpretedatanytimethrough FIFO,thelength ofthedata(playing period)is
not limited,sothedevice canflexiblysupportapplication suchasincoming call melody musicdistribution service.The
hardwaresequencerbuilt inthisdevice allowsplaying ofthe complexmusicwithoutgiving excessiveloadtotheCPUof
theportabletelephones.Moreover,theregistersoftheFMsynthesizercan beoperated directlyfor real timesound
generation,allowing,forexample,utilization ofvarious sound effectswhen using thegamesoftwareinstalledinthe
portabletelephone.
YMU765_MA5includesaspeakeramplifierwith high rippleremovalratewhosemaximumoutput is580mW
(SPVDD=3.6V).Thedevice isalsoequippedwithconventionalfunction including avibartor.
Forthepurposeofenabling YMU765_MA5to demonstarteitsfull capablities,Yamahapurposeto use"SMAF:Synthetic
musicMobileApplication Format"asadatadistribution format that iscompatiblewihtmultimedia.Since theSMAFtakes
astructurethatsetsimportance on thesynchronization betweensound and images,variouscontentscan bewrittenintoit

systemusesSamsung'smemory,KBB06B400M-F402.It isconsisted of128MbitsflashNORmemoryand 256Mbits
flashNAND memoryand 64MbitsSCRAM.Ithas16 bit dataline,HD[0~15]whichisconnectedtoOM6359 and
MV317SAQ.Ithas26 bit address lines,HA[1~26].CS_NAND and NCSRAMsignalsischipselect.Writing process,
HWR_Nislowand it enableswriting process toflashmemoryand SRAM.During reading process,HRD_Nislowand
it enablesreading process toflashmemoryand SRAM.EachchipselectsignalsintheOM6359 selectmemoryamong 2
flashmemoryand SCRAM.Reading orwriting procedureisprocessedafterHWR_NorHRD_Nisenabled.Memories
usereset,whichisVDD3 delayfromPCF50601.HA[25]signalenableslowerbyteofSRAMand HA[26]signalenables
higherbyteofSRAM.

OM6359 isconsisted ofARMcore and DSP core.Ithas8x1Kword on-chip program/dataRAM,55 Kwordson-chip

JTAG,EMIand UART.ARMcoreisconsisted ofEMI,PIC(ProgrammableInterruptController),reset/power/clock unit,
DMAcontroller,TIC(TestInterface Controller),peripheralbridge,PPI,SSI(SynchronousSerialInterface),
ACC(Asynchronouscommunicationscontrollers),timer,ADC,RTC(Real-TimeClock)and keyboardinterface.
KBIO(0:7),address linesofDSP core and HD[0~15].HA[1~26],address linesofARMcore and HD[0~15],datalinesof
ARMcore are connectedtomemory,YMU765,MV317SAQ(CameraDSP Chip).
CS_NAND,NCSRAM,NCSFLASHintheARMcore are connectedtoeachmemory.HWR_Nand HRD_Ncontrol the
process ofmemory.ExternalIRQ(InterruptReQuest)signalsfromeach units,suchasPMU,needthe compatibleprocess.
KBIO[0~7] receivethestatusfromkeyand RXD0/TXD0/irDA_DOWNareusedforthe communicationsusing IRDA and
datalink cable(DEBUG_DTR/RTS/TXD/RXD/CTS/DSR).
Ithas JTAG controlpins(TDI/TDO/TCK) forARMcore and DSP core.Itrecieves13MHz clockinCKIpinfromexternal
TCXO.ADC(Analog toDigitalConvertor) partreceivesthestatusoftemperature,batterytype and battery voltage.
11.VC-TCXO-214C6(26MHz)
This systemusesthe26MHzTCXO.AFCcontrolsignalformsOM6359 controlfrequencyfrom26MHzx-tal.Itgenerates
the clockfrequency.ThisclockisconnectedtoUAA3536.
12.CameraDSP(MV317SAQ)
TigerisanIntegratedcircuit formobilephone camera.This structurewill alloweffectiveness forlargedatamanagement
and significantlyreducesmain processorwill getburden.
In hence,Tigerwill allowtheuserto be ableto displaytoLCDdirectwithoutburdening themain processor.Italso
allowsto havevariouskindsofdisplaysize on theLCDand snapshotforJpeg.Digitaleffectwill also be executed on
real timebaseresulting Tigerasbeing avideoco-processorinthemobileplatform.
Also,ani80 typeprocessor's16bit parallel interface ofTigermakesit availablefortheCPUtointerchangethedata
