It’s easy to check right
from your phone!
You’ll hear a summary of your service plan minutes and
the minutes remaining in your current billing cycle, along
with your phone’s individual usage if you’re on a shared
plan. You’ll also hear a summary of your account balance
and your most recent payment information.
From the Sprint Power VisionSM Home Page, select My
Account (Option 0). You’ll see many helpful categories
including Payment Due, Current Usage, and Plan Overview.

Settingup service onyournewphone is quickand easy.This
section walks you through the necessary steps to set up,
turn on, and unlock your phone; set up your voicemail;
establish passwords; and contact Sprint for assistance with
your Sprint service.

Setting Up Service
SettingUpYourPhone
1. Install the battery (if necessary).
nSlide the battery cover latch into its unlock position
and slide the battery cover downward to remove it.
nInsert the battery into the opening, making sure the
connectors align. Gently press down to secure the
battery.
nReplace the battery cover and press up until you hear
aclick. Lock the battery cover by sliding the latch into
its locked position.
2. Press to turn the phone on.
nYour phone will turn on, search for Sprint service,
and enter standby mode.
nIf your phone is not yet activated, or if it is locked, see
“Getting StartedWith Sprint Service”on the
following page for moreinformation.
3. Make your first call.
nUse your keypad to enter a phone number.
nPress .
Note Your phone’s batteryshouldhaveenoughchargetoturnon
yourphone, find asignal, set up yourvoicemail,andmake a
call.You should fully charge yourbattery as soon as possible.
See“ChargingtheBattery”on page 25 fordetails.

GettingStartedWithSprint Service
DeterminingIfYourPhone IsAlreadyActivated
If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is probably
activated, unlocked, and ready to use. If you received your
phone in the mail, it probably has been activated; all you need
to do is unlock it. (See page 5.)
To determineyouractivationstatus:
©Press >Settings>Phone Info>Phone#/UserID.
If MyPhone# displays 000-000-#### and UserID displays
<Empty>,your phone is not yet activated.
ActivatingYour Phone
If your phone is not activated, you can activate it yourself.
Toactivateyourphone:
1. Press to turn the phone on. (The activation display
will appear.)
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to activate your phone.
nIf activation is successful, you will see “Your device
has been activated!”and your phone will be ready
to use.
nIf activation is unsuccessful, please wait while your
phone retries (up to five times).
lIf activation is still unsuccessful, press >
Settings> More…>Data> UpdateProfile.
Wait for your profile to update, and then follow
the instructions above to determine your
activation status.
Note Besurethatyouare inthe Sprint coverage area(not roaming)
andthatyour phone is receivingastrong signal (see page 17)
beforestarting the activation.

lIf activation is still unsuccessful, please call
Sprint Customer Service at 1-888-211-4727 from
another phone for assistance.
ActivatingYour PhoneIfYouHaveCanceledthe Activation
If you press while activating your phone, the activation
will be canceled and you will be required to activate it from
the main menu.
To activateyourphonefromthe main menu:
1. Select >Settings >More…> Data> UpdateProfile.
2. Follow the onscreen instructions.
UnlockingYour Phone
1. Press to turn the phone on.
2. Press Unlock (left softkey).
3. Enter your four-digit lock code. (For security purposes,
the code is not visible as you type.)
Tip If youcan’t recall yourlockcode, tryusingthelast fourdigits
of yourwireless phonenumber. If thisdoesn’t work,callSprint
CustomerService at 1-888-211-4727.
Note To select a softkey, press thesoftkeybuttondirectly belowthe
softkey text that is displayedat thebottom left and bottom
right ofyourphone’s displayscreen. Softkeyactions change
according tothe screenyou’reviewingandwillnot be
displayedifthereisnocorrespondingaction available.
Note Ifthephoneisnot activated afterhavingperformedthesteps
above, please call SprintCustomer Serviceat 1-888-211-4727.
Note Do not press END while the phone is being activated.
Pressing END cancels the activationprocess.

SettingUpYourVoicemail
All unanswered calls to your phone are automatically
transferred to your voicemail, even if your phone is in use or
turned off.Therefore, you will want to set up your voicemail
and personal greeting as soon as your phone is activated.
1. From standby mode, press and hold .
2. Follow the system prompts to:
nCreate your passcode.
nRecord your name announcement.
nRecord your greeting.
nChoose whether to activate One-Touch Message
Access (a feature that lets you access messages
simply by pressing and holding ,bypassing the
need for you to enter your passcode).
For moreinformation about using your voicemail, see “Using
Voicemail”on page 165.
Note Voicemail Passcode
If youare concernedabout unauthorized accessto your
voicemail account,Sprint recommends that you enableyour
voicemail passcode(do not activate One-Touch Message
Access).
