Thank you for purchasing the PALMAⅡhygrothermometer.
- This instrument is designed to measure indoor humidity and temperature being mounted on the wall.
Do not use it for any other purposes.
- Read this manual thoroughly before use and keep it in a safe place for the future references.
Precautions
For Installation
- Install the instrument in a location of a normal atmosphere, free of corrosive gas.
- Avoid direct airflow from an air conditioner or a heater.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- Do not install the instrument on a door, a window or a wall that is directly exposed to open air.
- Mount the instrument on a perpendicular wall that is free from vibrations.
For Use
- After unpacking, allow about 30 minutes for the instrument to adjust to the surrounding environment for
correct measuring.
- NEVER disassemble or alter the instrument. Otherwise, it may cause malfunctions.
- This instrument is a precision instrument. Do not drop or apply impact to the unit. Doing so may result
in failure.
- Stop using the unit if the glass tube of the thermometer is damaged and/or if the red alcohol column is
broken.
- Never mount the instrument at the place subject to water splash.
- Do not use the instrument out of its measuring range (-10 to 50°C).
- In dry, cold seasons, the hygrometer may indicate out of its measuring range. This is normal since it
simply means the relative humidity is below 20%.
- Do not cover the instrument with plastic or other materials for waterproof purpose.
For Cleaning
- Use a dry, soft cloth for cleaning. NEVER use thinner, benzene or alcohol.
Calibration
It is desirable to calibrate the unit periodically for accurate measurement. Contact us or dealer whom
you purchase the unit from on the calibration or repair.

①Scale plate : Scale for humidity. Minimum graduation: 1%RH
②Pointer : Indicates current humidity
③Thermometer : Glass thermometer. The sensing liquid is kerosene
④Hook : Used to mount the unit on a wall
⑤Hole for calibration : This is a hole that the manufacturer calibrates the unit. Do not use it.
How to Wall-Mount
Use the hooking hole on the back of the unit and mount perpendicularly on the wall.
