RETRACTABLE OXY/ACETYLENE WELDING
HOSE REEL Model: RGH15
Thank you for purchasing a Sealey product. Manufactured to a high standard this product will, if used according to these instructions
and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS.
USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE
DAMAGE AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. PLEASE KEEP INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.
3Familiarise yourself with the application and limitations of the hose reel, as well as the specific hazards.
pWARNING! Isolate the hose reel from the gas supply before changing accessories, servicing or performing any maintenance.
3Maintain the hose reel in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
3Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
3Locate and fix the hose reel in a suitable working area. Do not position the hoses in direct sun light, or in areas of extreme heat or
cold. Ensure there is adequate lighting.
3Keep extended hoses away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check hose for wear before each use, and ensure all connections are secure.
3Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
3Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.
7DO NOT use the hose reel for any purpose other than that for which it is designed.
7DO NOT operate the hose reel when you are tired, under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
3When not in use ensure the gas supply is turned off. Disconnect from the supply and retract hose into case.
pWARNING! DO NOT dismantle the hose reel casing, or attempt to remove the screws on the sides. To do so may result in damage to the
appliance and/or personal injury and will invalidate the warranty. Internal maintenance, which will require the opening of the casing, must
only be undertaken by an authorised service agent.

2. INTRODUCTION & SPECIFICATION
The RGH15 has a hard wearing composite casing with retracting dual hose reel which has ratchet and free-running operation, enabling easy
access to locations within the hose range. The reel comes complete with mounting brackets.

3. FITTING THE HOSE REEL
p WARNING! Ensure the hose reel is disconnected from the supply. Do not position the hose in direct sun light or in areas
of extreme heat or cold.
3.1. Ensure the wall to which the hose reel is to be fixed is of sound construction and that the securing points will hold the working
strain of the hose when in use.
3.2. Mark out the mounting hole positions as shown in fig.1. Drill and plug the surface and screw mount the support brackets.
3.3. Fit washer and split pin (fig.2.4 & 3) to one end of support tube (fig.2.1). Feed support tube through one bracket (fig.2.2), through the
hose reel (fig.2.5) and through the second bracket. Secure with the second washer and split pin.
Note: When wall mounting, reel lifting handle must be uppermost.
3.4. Check to ensure that the main body will turn sufficiently to allow the hose to be extended without rubbing on either side of the housing.
3.5. Before use, check that all fixings are safe and secure, and that the hose extends and retracts smoothly.
pIMPORTANT: If the reel is to be ceiling mounted it must be modified to ensure correct operation of the clamping/recoil
mechanism - contact your supplier.

4.1. To clamp the hose whilst in an extended position, turn the recoil control (fig.3.A) anticlockwise.
An intermittent knock will be noticed as the hose is pulled off the reel. When the tension is let
off the hose it will retract slightly and then lock.
4.2. To release the hose and allow it to automatically rewind, pull the hose out from the locked position
and then release.
4.3. To release the ratchet so that the hose remains in constant tension, turn the recoil control (fig.3.A)
clockwise. If the control will not turn under finger pressure, pull the hose out a few inches to
unload the mechanism.
pWARNING! The reel tension is factory set and the control (fig.3.B) is sealed with four screws.
DO NOT remove these screws. If any adjustment is required contact an authorised service agent.

pWARNING! Before attempting maintenance or inspection vent any pressure remaining in the hoses.
To ensure reliable operation, clean the hoses and casing regularly. DO NOT spray or wet the product, but clean with a cloth and
warm water. DO NOT use solvents or detergents, as these may permanently damage the item.
pWARNING! DO NOT attempt to loosen, or remove, any casing screws.
Replacement of the hoses should be carried out by skilled personnel only, consult your nearest authorised service agent.
5.1. Seals
All O-ring seals should be replaced, by an authorised service agent, annually, to ensure reel remains gas tight.
5.2. Storage
Should you wish to store the hose reel, ensure it is clean and dry. Place in a dark, safe, dry, childproof location, where the temperature
will remain reasonably stable. DO NOT store in a nylon, or plastic, bag as this will encourage condensation.
