Transportable Oxygen
Machines
Each transportable oxygen machine features a
rechargeable battery pack which allows it to be used
outside of the home for several hours (exact duration is
dependant on flow setting).
The flow rate on this type of machine may vary from what
is required using a standard oxygen machine or cylinder.
Only use the flow rate requested by your Healthcare
Professional.
Please note: Your Eclipse remains the property of
Baywater Healthcare and is on loan to the NHS.

Before Use
Always check that the battery pack is installed correctly,
the air inlet and the exhaust vent of the device are not
blocked and that the air inlet filter is clean before using
the machine.
Turning on your Eclipse
The Eclipse can be used at home or moved using the
trolley.
You can use your Eclipse with a variety of power sources:
1. AC power supply (mains supply)
2. DC power supply (car accessory outlet)
3. Rechargeable battery pack
The Eclipse charges the battery when plugged into mains
supply (AC).
AC power supply (mains supply)
When the Eclipse is plugged into electricity the green
indicator light will illuminate and external power indicator
will show on the display screen.
If you need to silence the ‘loss of power’ alarm, press and
hold the On/Off button for 5 seconds. Connecting the
Eclipse to an external AC power supply will also stop the
alarm.

DC power supply (car accessory outlet)
A DC power supply allows the system to work
in a vehicle. Establish if the fuse rating in
your motor vehicle is 15amp or 20amp. Once
confirmed, set the switch on the DC power
supply to the appropriate fuse rate setting.
Start your vehicle, insert the DC cord into the
plug hole on the side of the Eclipse. Next, insert
the DC power supply plug into the DC power
outlet in your motor vehicle. When the Eclipse is
properly connected and receiving power from
the DC power source, a green indicator light
on the power supply and the ‘external power
is present’ indicator on the control panel will
illuminate.
Typical battery pack recharge time
The typical time to recharge an empty
battery fully is between 1.4 hours and 5 hours,
depending upon the device flow setting.
Caution
Never use any power cord if it is damaged or
frayed. Improper use may result in a fire or
electrical shock hazard.
Do not connect the Eclipse to an extension cord.
Always unplug the AC power cord from the wall
before disconnecting the plug from the Eclipse.

Transporting Your Eclipse
Follow this advice when transporting your Eclipse:
•Secure the Eclipse and the DC power supply in your
vehicle and be sure there is adequate air flow to the
Eclipse and that the air inlet and exhaust vents are not
blocked. Blocking of the air inlet or exhaust vent may
prevent the Eclipse from working. Ensure the Eclipse
is secured safely behind the front seats or on the back
seat with a secure fastening.
•Do not leave the Eclipse or DC power supply plugged
into the vehicle without the engine running or attempt
to start the vehicle while the DC power supply is
connected to the vehicle. Doing so will drain the
vehicle’s battery.
•Do not leave the Eclipse, or battery pack, in the seating
area or boot of your motor vehicle during a hot or very
cold day.
•Do not leave equipment on show when your vehicle is
unattended.

Troubleshooting
What to do if there is no oxygen
flow
No oxygen flow indicates that the
device may be turned off, try pressing
the power button to turn on and
check battery charge. Check nasal
prongs are connected correctly, if
none of these checks work, please call
us on 0800373580.
What to do if the Eclipse oxygen
machine does not turn on
If the transportable oxygen machine
does not turn on when the On button
is pressed, the battery may not have
enough charge to turn the device
on. Plug the device into electricity
mains to charge. If this does not work,
please call us on 0800 373580.
What to do if the alarm sounds
When using an Eclipse in pulse dose
mode if no breath is detected for 60
seconds the machine will alarm until
normal breathing resumes.
If no hissing can be heard when
taking a breath while in pulse
dose mode you may require a
clinical review. Pleasecontact your
Healthcare Professional.
