BASIC DRIVING
Make sure you ave completed t e details described under “Mounting”
To start moving forward turn your Venice on and pus t e joystick gently forward.
To STOP gently release t e joystick to t e centre position and t e brake will apply.
Practice t ese two basic functions at slow speed until you are proficient in t eir use.
Steering t e Venice Powerc air is easy and logical. To turn rig t or left move t e
joystick in t e direction you wis to proceed.
W en t e Venice turns, it will decelerate to ensure a safe and smoot directional
c ange.
If it is a tig t turn (entering a doorway or going around a blind corner) STOP your
Venice Powerc air and lower your speed. Pus your joystick in t e direction you
wis to proceed, t e Venice will move in t is direction. Once t e Venice is
positioned in t e direction you wis to travel, pus your joystick forward (ensure
your speed is set to t e slowest setting).
T e Venice Powerc air will move gently and wit complete stability.
REVERSING (Requires your attention)
Always set your speed to SLOWEST setting before you back up.
Pull t e Joystick backwards wit your and.
Always proceed slowly.
T e Venice power c airs are not designed for use in loose gravel, sand or grass.
RAMPS
T e stability of your power c air is governed by several factors suc as t e seating
position of t e occupant, (ie t e position of t e seat backrest) t e angle of t e slope,
your eig t and weig t. W en approac ing an incline, do so directly, avoid driving
up on an angle. W ere ever possible avoid making turns on any incline or decline.
W en going down a slope set t e speed setting to SLOW, t is will ensure t ere is a
safe controlled decent. W en t e control lever is released t e powerc air will slow
to a stop.
If you do not feel safe going down a slope DO NOT use it. Find an alternative
route. Please follow all t e guidelines and your power c air will perform admirably
over many surfaces.
TRANSPORTING YOUR POWER CHAIR
Always ensure your c air is turned OFF on t e joystick.
Remove t e controller power cable from t e mounting point under t e seat. Pull t e
plug from t e base gently wiggling slig tly if necessary.
Now lift t e seat up and away from t e base of t e Venice powerc air (Refer
picture 1)
Split t e base section into two pieces by using t e release lever and separating t e
parts. (Refer pictures 2, 3)
T e unit can now be placed in t e car.
T e armrests can be removed to assist in fitting t e seat into t e car. T is is done by
loosening t e knobs t at adjust t e armrests in and out.
