1Overview
1.1 General
Like the anchor SIMATIC RTLS4330A, the gateway SIMATIC RTLS4330G represents a
reference point for localization in the SIMATIC Locating Manager. The RTLS4330G gateway
can be connected to the local IT infrastructure via Ethernet. The localization data collected by
the nodes (anchors and gateways) and optionally customer-specific data is exchanged between
the wireless localization network and the localization server via this connection. For larger
localization networks, the use of multiple gateways is recommended to increase the number of
localizable transponders and the availability of position information.

1.3 Supply voltage
The device can be operated with a DC voltage of 8 to 30 volts.
CAUTION
The supply voltage of the device must not exceed the following values:
U < 30 V; I < 3.3 A; P < 100 W
The RTLS4330G gateway can be powered via a power plug or Ethernet (PoE), not both at the
same time. The device is a class 0 device according to PoE.

1.4 Areas of application
The device is designed for use in damp environments. Therefore, all connections must be made
with waterproof connectors in accordance with the following technical specifications and
moisture must be prevented from entering the device by using suitable sealing caps.

3Installation, commissioning, safety
3.1 General information
•The devices can only be used in conjunction with the Locating Manager.
•Correct setup, installation and use of the software and clients of the localization system are
described in the corresponding manuals.
3.2 Mounting
•Before installing the device, read carefully through all points in "3. Installation, commissioning,
safety" to guarantee proper installation and operation.
•The device is intended for fixed installation on walls or ceilings.
•Installation of the device must be performed by appropriately qualified and trained specialist
personnel according to the installation instructions.
•The notes on the environmental conditions must be observed during installation and operation
of the devices.
•Ensure that all screws are securely and firmly screwed into the wall and can support the weight
of the device and wiring.
•The ambient temperature of the devices must not exceed 60 °C. Avoid installation locations
exposed to direct sunlight.
•The devices must be installed according to the currently applicable BG regulations "Electrical
Installation and Equipment" (BGV A3). The devices must be installed in such a way that they
are always accessible (opening the enclosure cover) so that subsequent maintenance work can
be performed.
3.3 Connection of the cable
•When connecting the cables, make sure that the twist-lock plug/lock engages correctly to
reliably prevent the ingress of moisture.
•Before commissioning the device, check whether the cabling has been correctly performed.
•Only the wiring described in the manual, supplied with the device or accordingly specified
should be used. Siemens AG accepts no liability for damage or impairment of functionality
resulting from the use of other cables.
Note
If the plug connections are not used, they must be closed with the prescribed cover caps.
These are installed on the device.

3.3.1 Supply voltage
•When the supply voltage is connected to the power plug, all LEDs flash for a moment. The
power LED is on when voltage is applied (see status of LEDs 2.2.1).
•The device can be supplied with power via the Ethernet cable. In this case, the power plug
should be tightly sealed to prevent moisture from penetrating.
•Do not supply the device with power via the power input and PoE at the same time.
•Check whether the rated voltage of the power supply corresponds to the values in the section
"Technical specifications" (see 5).
CAUTION
The power supply of the device must not exceed the following values:
U < 30 V; I < 3.3 A; P < 100 W
3.3.2 Ethernet (only with gateway)
•When installing and connecting the Ethernet connection, the applicable general conditions and
their legal basis must be observed.
•The Ethernet connection is connected to the Ethernet socket of the device. The cable must be
connected to the RJ45 plug before connection to the socket.
•For the power supply of the device with PoE (Power over Ethernet), a corresponding
infrastructure such as PoE injector or PoE switch is required.
3.4 Operation
•Due to its design, the device is not intended for use in hazardous zones.
•The proper operation of the system according to EN 60950-1 is only guaranteed when the
enclosure cover is mounted (cooling, fire protection, radio interference suppression).
•In an emergency (e.g. damaged enclosure, ingress of liquid or foreign objects), immediately
disconnect power to the equipment.
•An anchor is ready for operation when the upper green LED lights up permanently. The other
two LEDs play no role in operational readiness.
•A gateway is ready for operation when both the upper green LED and the lower blue LED light
up permanently. The third (middle) LED plays no role in operational readiness.

3.5 Cleaning and maintenance
•The device may only be opened by suitably trained specialist personnel.
•Repairs to the device should only be performed by an authorized service center.
•Unauthorized opening of and improper repairs to the device may involve substantial risks to the
user.
•Unauthorized opening of the devices voids the guarantee and liability of Siemens AG.
•Never use abrasive detergents, alkaline cleaning agents, acidic or abrasive tools to clean the
housing.

4.1 General errors
If a fault occurs, inspect the device for the following errors and take appropriate measures. If
there are other undefined errors, please contact Siemens support
