These instructions apply to retrofitting the area dose measurement device to a
SIREMOBIL Compact only.
Parts required 1
Avoiding minor to severe physical injuries - which can lead to
death and avoiding material damage.
The product-specific safety notes stated in the system folder and
the safety notes stated in ARTD Part 2 must be complied with.
After conclusion of all work and after attachment of all covers
perform the protective ground wire test according to
ARTD-002.731.17. The protective ground wire resistance must not
exceed 0.2 Ohm.
Checks or settings which must be performed with X-ray radiation
switched on are marked by the radiation symbol .
Radiation protection clothing must be worn when performing
operations thus marked.

Installation 1
Removing the covers 1
•DisconnecttheSIREMOBILlinevoltageplug.
•Removethethreecoverplatesfromthebasicunit.
•RemovetheSIREPHOScover.
First,carefullyremovetheadhesive strip on the side panels of the cover.
Installing the area dose measurement chamber 1
•Pullthemeasurementchamberconnector(1/Fig.1)outofthecabletie.
•PlacetheareadosemeasurementchamberontheSIREPHOSasshowninFig.1.
The"Focus"labelmustpointtowardtheX-raytube.
•SecuretheareadosemeasurementchambertotheSIREPHOSwiththeenclosed
screws.
•Plugthemeasurementchamberconnector(1/Fig.1)intothemeasurementchamber.

•Plugthetwoconnectors(2/Fig.2)intoPCboardD16.

•TurnontheSIREMOBILandwaitfor the start-up.
•InserttheMemoskopparameterdisk(seeSystemfolderRegister10)indriveAofthe
servicePC.
•StarttheMemoskopserviceprogram.
•Clickthe"GetfromMemoskop"buttoninthemainmenu.Theparametersaretransferred
fromtheMemoskoptotheServicePC.
•Selectthe"Others"menu.
•Select"DisabledoserateselectioninUserSetUp".TheCheckbuttonisnotmarked.

After selecting the "Disable dose rate selection in User Set Up"
parameter, the "Storage of dose on disk" and "Dose on hardcopy
output" parameters become available in the Memoskop User
Setup and visible to the customer.

Programming and adjusting the area dose measurement device 1
Calculating the CONSTANT parameter (Qt * Kg) 1
•ReadandrecordtheKgvalueshown on the electronics unit of the area dose
measurementdevice.
•ReadtheQtvalueontheareadosechamberoftheareadosemeasurementdevice.
•Multiplythesevaluesandrecord them. The resulting value is the CONSTANT (QT*Kg)
valuetobeprogrammed.
Programming 1
•ConnecttheservicePCtotheserial interface on board D1.
•Starttheserviceprogram.
•SelecttheAdjustment,Parametermenu.
•Select"Diamentor"inthecombobox"ParameterGroups:".
•Click"GetfromUnit".
•Select"1.DiamentorExisting".
•Select’yes’inthe"Valueactual"field.
•Click"Set Value".
•Select"2.Constant(Qt*Kg)".
•Entertheparameteryouhavecalculatedinthe"ValueActual:"field.
•Click"Set Value".
•Click"PuttoUnit".
•Click"SavetoFile".
This adjustment is used to calibrate the area dose measurement
device of the SIREMOBIL Compact display.

Checking the programmed values 1
Prerequisites
The Qt * Kg value was checked and is programmed. Refer to Programming.
•ConnecttheservicePCtotheserialinterfaceonboardD1.
•Starttheserviceprogram.
•SelecttheAdjustment,Calibrations...menu.
•Click"Yes"toanswerthequery.
•Select"Diamentor"inthecombobox"FunctionGroup".
•Select"StartDiamentorTest"inthe"AvailableFunctions"windowandclick"Execute".
•Closethestatuswindowbyclickingonthebutton"OK".
•Answerthequery"Doyouwanttoresetthe unit" with clicking on the button "No".
•Press2timesthekey->0<-atthecontrolpanelofthebasicunit(resetkeyfor
fluoroscopytimer).
•ThetestedQt*Kgvalueisdisplayedat the monitor of the SIREMOBIL Compact.
•ThisvaluemustmatchtheprogrammedCONSTANT(Qt*Kg)value.
Tolerance:+3digits.
•Bypressingthe->0<-key 2 times, the test is repeated and is displayed again at the
monitor.
•TheCALpotentiometerontheelectronicsystemoftheareadosemeasurementdevice
canbeusedtoadjustthetestvalueto the calculated and programmed Qt*Kg value.
•Select"Stop DiamentorTest"on theservicePC after theadjustmentand click"Execute".
•Closethestatuswindowbyclickingonthebutton"OK".
•Answerthequery"Doyouwanttoresetthe unit" with clicking on the button "Yes".
•Thetestisended.
•Exittheserviceprogramwith "Logoff" and "Quit".
•Checktheaccuracyoftheareadosemeasurementdevice.Refertothenextpage.
Checking the programmed values will activate the self-test in the
electronic system of the area dose measurement device.
This serves to recalibrate the electronic system of the area dose
measurement device.
You must exit the service program with "Logoff" and "Quit" to
store the modified parameters to disk as a new file.

Checking the accuracy of the area dose measurement device 1
Prerequisites 1
The calibration of the area dose measurement device must have already been performed.
Preparations 1
•Secureandcenterthecenteringcrosson the I.I. (Fig. 1).
•Selectsurveyformat.
•SelectkVmAcurveplateauHC1.
•Releasefluoroscopybriefly,adjustingtheiris on the radiation field to a format of
approximately15cmdiameter.
•Donotmakeanyfurtheradjustmentsto the iris.
•Recordtheaveragediameter(Fig.3)oftheoctagonalareaoftheradiationfield.
•Secureand center the dosemeasurementchamber of the dosemeasurementinstument
(DIADOS...)ontheimage intensifier (Fig. 2).
•SelectkVSTOPandenter70kV.
Area Dose measurement 1
•Pressthe>0<keytwicetoresettheareadoseproductdisplayontheMonitorto0.
•Resetthedosemeasurementinstrumentto0.
•Releasefluoroscopyforseveralseconds.ThemeasureddoseKEshouldbehigh
enoughthattheuppermostmeasurementrangeofthedosemeasurementinstument
(DIADOS...)isutilizedfullyandtheareadoseproductdisplayedatthe monitor is a
multidigitvalue(>9);ifnecessary,resettheareadose product display on the Siremobil
andthedosemeasurementinstrumentandrepeatthemeasurementwithadifferent
fluoroscopictime.
•Recordthemeasureddose.
•Recordtheareadoseproductdisplayed on the montor (FDPa).
Calculating the area dose product 1
•Tocalculatethemeasuredareadoseproduct:
(measuredareadoseproductFDPg)=(measureddoseKE)*(averagediameter)2*
0.785.
The radiation field must cover the entire area of the area dose
measurement chamber.

Evaluation 1
Calculate the deviation between the area dose product measured and the area dose
product displayed:
The deviation must be < 0.3.
Deviation = [(displayed area dose product FDPa) - (measured area dose product FDPg) ]
/ (measured area dose product FDPg).
For deviations > 0.3, replace the area dose measurement device.
