Supercat 17 Trampoline Measurement Guide
Disclaimer: You have chosen a Supercat 17 so you’ll need to figure out what you need. We can help guide you but
you’ll need to have the vocabulary and do the legwork to determine what you have. This boat is a bit more complicated
than most beach cats and was made in several configurations and many boats were modified. We consider these boats
to all be different from each other until proven otherwise, and as such you will need to put forth some effort to take
careful measurements, ask questions, and to become more knowledgeable about your boat. We have done our best to
present accurate information however these boats are aging and by this point many boats will have modifications
beyond the scope of this guide. SLO Sail and Canvas will cross reference some customer measurements to check for
accuracy but as this is a semi-custom part that with success dependent on customer input the customer is ultimately
liable for measurement mistakes. Mistakes, whether they be fault of SLO Sail and Canvas, or others, will be handled on a
case-by-case basis. Photos in this guide come from a variety of sources, are used for example purposes only, and do not
necessarily portray products by SLO Sail and Canvas and the configurations with which SLO Sails builds trampolines.
Things we will need from you:
1. Think about exactly what you want your trampoline to be like. If you like our stock designs as shown in the
photos on our website, great. If you need a different configuration please let us know as soon as you can so we
can help you the best we can.
2. Photos of your boat. Please send us between 4-8 photos from a variety of angles so we can get a good idea of
your particular boat’s configuration. It would be best to send us photos as soon as possible.
3. Please refer to the measurement guide we provide and note any anomalies so that we can provide additional
forms or we can discuss what we’ll need to do.
4. Fill out the measurement sheet and ask us questions if applicable.
5. There may be various configurations of modified trampoline tracks affixed to both forward and aft beams for
the forward wrap and four boltrope style trampolines refer to page 4 in the Supercat 17 Measurements
Worksheet.
6. If in any case the configurations listed below do not match your sailboat please send us pictures.

There have been at least three different builders of the Supercat 17, and possibly more. The point is there is going to be
some variation and given that most of the boats were build 20-30 years ago and most boats will not be owned by the
original owner so who knows what ‘stock’ is anymore.

There are two common factory styles of trampoline: Forward Wrap, and what we call Double Wrap. Some boats may
have come stock with what we call ‘four boltrope style’ which would have boltropes to the forward and aft beam in
addition to the side rails. The major reason for the Forward Wrap and four boltrope styles is that this permits a full width
traveler to be installed on the rear beam which is a substantial improvement in the sail-ability of the boat. Any given
boat may have had multiple styles of trampoline installed, again, there is no ‘stock’. A variety of attachment and
tensioning methods were used on these trampolines.
