OVERVIEW
SMC’s DOCSIS 2.0 2-Port VoIP Cable Modem speeds installation time by supporting wireless handsets via
the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT) standard. No longer is it necessary to have the
Cable Modem located near an existing telephone jack; with SMC’s DECT 6.0 compliant solution, customers
can add up to six wireless handsets throughout their home or business, all taking advantage of the enhanced
sound quality, protection against eaves dropping and superior range that DECT provides. In addition, custom-
ers enjoy advanced call features including Push-to-Talk between handsets and conference calling between
up to four handsets and the telephone network. And as a DOSCIS 2.0 compliant device, MSOs will be able to
provide blazing fast data services, ensuring business and residential customers premium VoIP QoS.
