1-3 Maintenance and Inspection
Caution
(1) Perform maintenance inspection according to the procedures indicated in the operation
manual.
Incorrect handling can result in unexpected accidents due to fluid leakage.
2) Perform maintenance when the pressure becomes atmospheric pressure (gauge pressure:
zero).
Make sure that the line is stopped and the pressure is atmospheric pressure (gage pressure: zero)
before starting maintenance and inspection.
3) Take the necessary measures depending on the fluid.
Some fluids may have negative effects on human body. Check the SDS and take the necessary
measures.
4) Do not touch the high temperature section.
Using this product at a high temperature (40 to 60 oC) may cause burns. Be sure to confirm that the
temperature of the container or operating part is reduced to 40 degrees or less to prevent burns.
5) Clean or replace the element when the replacement timing has come.
Continuing to use an element which is overdue for replacement may cause breakage of the element and
the pump.

6) When replacing the element, wear protective equipment (gloves and glasses).

For proper sealing during the replacement of the element, clean off any substances which are stuck to

9) Check the parts to secure the cover.
Do not use any hexagon socket head cap screw which is deformed or galled.

7 Replacement of the element
7-1 Removal of element
1) Stop the operation of the circuit to ensure the pressure in the filter becomes atmospheric pressure.
2) Loosen the hexagon socket head cap screws (4pcs.) and remove them.
3) Remove the cover by pulling it upward.
4) Take the element out.

7-2. Parts check and preparation of the element
1) Check the seating surface of the cover and case. Clean them if foreign matter is found.
2) Check the 3 O-rings and replace with new one if any problems are found.
Clean the element or prepare new ones.
7-3. Mounting of element
1) Make sure that 2 O-rings and wave washer are assembled to the cover.
Caution
The O-ring should be assembled in the specified position of the cover (shown below). If the O-ring is
placed in different positions from the figure below, biting or damaging the O-ring may occur when the
cover is tightened, which may cause leakage.
2) Make sure that O-ring is set at the bottom of the case.
3) Insert the element into the case.
4) Mount the cover to the case.
5) Hand tighten the hexagon socket head cap screws, holding the cover on top (temporary tightening).

6) Tighten the hand tightened hexagon socket head cap screws diagonally using a hexagon wrench.
Tightening torque: 6.2Nm (reference value)
7) Before actual operation, confirm there is no leakage.
If there is leakage, remove the element after stopping the operation following the removal procedure of
the element.
And then, clean the seating surfaces, check and replace the O-ring, and tighten the hexagon socket
head cap screws again.
8. Cleaning of the Element
8-1. Cleaning of the Element
The filter element (“element”, hereafter) captures foreign matter from the fluid while filtering the fluid.
Due to buildup of foreign matter, the performance will be reduced when filtering. Clean the element in
order to removal the captured foreign matter, and recover the performance (pressure drop and life).
The filtration level of the element differs depending on the operating conditions. Sometimes it is not
possible to clean the element. When the cleaning performance is not adequate, or the element cannot
be reused due to gouges or deformation, replace it with a new element.
8-2. Cleaning method (example)
Example of cleaning the element.
When cleaning the element, make sure to wear protective gloves, protective glasses, etc.
Brushing
Brush the surface of the filtering material in the element using a soft stainless steel wire brush. Brush
the root of the ribs one by one.
Air blow
Dry the element with clean compressed air Please be careful of the following.
1 ) At first, dry the root of the outer ribs one by one by blowing air, and then dry the internal ribs.
When drying the element by internal air blow, use a nozzle similar to the drawing below.
2 ) Dry the root of the ribs one by one by blowing air (see the drawing below).
