1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
The io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiveris a receiver fitted with io-homecontrol® radio technology. It can
be used to control most electric heating lamps (maximum 2,000 W) via an io-homecontrol® control
point (for more details, contact your retailer).
Its small size enables it to be discreetly installed near the product it is controlling through a direct
supply cable connection.
The io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver with standard connections is connected to the heating lamp by
means of suitable connectors.
1.2. LIABILITY
Before installing and using the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver, please read these instructions carefully.
The io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver must be installed by a home motorisation and automation
professional, in accordance with Somfy’s instructions and the applicable regulations in the
country of installation.
Any use of the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver outside the scope of application described above is
prohibited. Such use, and any failure to comply with the instructions given in this guide, absolves
Somfy of any liability and invalidates the warranty.
Theinstallermust informhiscustomersof theio2kWHeatingSlimReceiveroperatingandmaintenance
conditions and give them the operation and maintenance instructions aer installing the io 2kW
HeatingSlimReceiver. Any aer-sales service operation on the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiverrequires
intervention by a home motorisation and automation professional.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated
equipment and accessories.

information, consult a Somfy contact or visit www.somfy.com.
2. INSTALLATION
2.1. INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS
• Minimum distance (X) between an io 2kW
HeatingSlimReceiverand the earth: X = 150 cm
• Minimum distance (Y) between an io 2kW
HeatingSlimReceiverand an iocontrol point: Y = 30 cm
• Minimum distance (Z) between two io 2kW
HeatingSlimReceivers: Z = 20cm
Installation of the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver depends on the
lamp with which it is used; consult the technical specifications
provided by Somfy (see 4.).
2.2. ASSEMBLY - WIRING
Warning
Comply with current standards and legislation in the country of installation.

Precaution
• Always make a loop in the power supply cable
to prevent water from entering the receiver.
• Check that the power of the heating lamp
connected to the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver
does not exceed 2,000W.
• Never connect several io 2kW HeatingSlimRe-
ceivers to a single heating lamp.
• Ensure that the electrical network is protected by a 16 A circuit breaker.
Attention
• The io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver must be installed in a location protected from the rain and
inclement weather and out of sight and reach of children.
• Install the Heating Slim Receiver io 2kW in a waterproof connection box (not supplied) when
performing the connections.
• If the receiver is used outdoors and if the power supply cable is of the H05-VVF type, run the
cable in a UV-resistant duct, e.g. trunking.
• Do not install the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver under the heating lamp.
• Secure cables to prevent any contact with moving parts.
• Leave the receiver power supply cable accessible: it must be possible to replace it easily.
• To ensure that the radio signal is transmitted correctly, it is necessary to pull at least 30 cm
of the io 2kW Heating Slim Receiver power supply cable out.
1) Cut off the mains power supply.
2) Disconnect the heating lamp cable from the power supply cable.
3) Connect the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiverto the heating lamp
cable (A) and to the power supply cable (B) using suitable connectors.

2.3. COMMISSIONING
This guide only describes commissioning using a Somfy io local control.
For commissioning using any other io control point, refer to the corresponding guide.
Power must only be supplied to one heating lamp at a time.
2.3.1. Identifying setting steps already completed
1) Switch on the power supply.
2) Press the Up button on the local io control point and follow
procedure 2.3.1.1. or 2.3.1.2. depending on the reaction of the
heating lamp.
2.3.1.1. The heating lamp does not switch on
The io control point is not programmed.
Go to section 2.3.2.
2.3.1.2. The heating lamp switches on
The io control point is programmed.
Go to section 2.4.
2.3.2. Programming the first Somfy io local control point
1) Press the Up and Down buttons on the io local control point
simultaneously until the heating lamp turns on then turns off.
2) Briefly press the PROG button on this io control point.
The heating lamp turns on then turns off.
The io control point is programmed.
2.4. ACTIVATION/DEACTIVATION OF AUTOMATIC
SHUT-DOWN
Prerequisite: Commissioning has been completed using an io local control point.
This function allows the heating lamp to be switched off automatically aer operating for 3, 6 or 12
hours.
It is possible to set this duration (see 2.5.).
The same procedure is used to activate or deactivate the automatic shut-down:
• Press the my and Down buttons simultaneously until the
heating lamp turns on then turns off.
- If the lamp comes on then goes out once: the function is
activated.
- If the lamp comes on then goes out twice: the function is
deactivated.

2.5. SETTING THE TIME OF FUNCTIONING
The operating duration of the heating lamp before automatic shut-down can be configured.
The default setting is 6 hours.
To change this setting:
1) Briefly press the my and Down buttons simultaneously on the
io local control point.
2) Just aerwards, press the my and Down buttons simultaneously
and keep depressed until the heating lamp turns on then turns
off.
• Briefly press the Down button to set the duration to 3hours.
• Briefly press the my button to set the duration to 6hours.
• Briefly press the Up button to set the duration to 12hours.
The heating lamp turns on then turns off.
3) Press the my button until the heating lamp turns on then turns
off.
The new setting is programmed.

2.6.2. Replacing a lost or broken io control point
Attention
• This reset is carried out if all the io control points have been lost or broken.
• Only switch the power off twice to the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver to be reset!

2) Switch the power supply back on for approximately 10 seconds
(for at least 5 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds).
3) Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
4) Switch the mains power supply back on.
The heating lamp turns on then turns off.
5) Briefly press the PROG button on the new io control point.
The heating lamp comes on then goes out.
The new control point is programmed in the io 2kW
HeatingSlimReceiver.
2.6.3. Restoring the original configuration
Attention
• Only switch the power off twice to the io 2kW HeatingSlimReceiver to be reset!
• This reset deletes all programmed control points.
1) Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
2) Switch the power supply back on for approximately 10 seconds
(for at least 5 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds).
3) Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
4) Switch the mains power supply back on.
The heating lamp turns on then turns off.
5) Press the PROG button on the io local control point until the
heating lamp turns on then turns off twice.
The receiver is reset to its original configuration.
6) Repeat the commissioning procedures (see 2.3.).

3. USE AND MAINTENANCE
This product is maintenance-free.
3.1. UP AND DOWN BUTTONS
• To switch the heating lamp on:
- Briefly press the Up button.
• To switch the heating lamp off:
- Briefly press the Down button.
3.2. ADDING/DELETING IO CONTROL POINTS
Refer to the corresponding guide.
3.3. REPLACING A LOST OR BROKEN SOMFY IO CONTROL POINT
To replace a lost or broken io-homecontrol® control point, consult a home motorisation and
automation professional.
