1. INTRODUCTION
The Lighting receiver Variation io is a receiver equipped with io Radio Technology. It can be used to
control all types of light via a power supply (AC/DC) with 1-10V control (halogen lights, LEDs) from a
Somfy io local control point.
The Lighting receiver Variation io lets you vary the intensity of your lighting and save a favourite light
intensity called your favourite position: this favourite position can, for example, be set to a night-light
type lighting. The factory default setting for the favourite light intensity is 50% of maximum intensity.
With IP 55 protection rating, the Lighting Receiver Variation io is suitable for external use and so
ideal for controlling terrace lighting.

The Lighting receiver Variation io uses io-homecontrol®, the new universal and secure wireless
communication protocol, shared by worldwide leaders in the world of home equipment.
io-homecontrol®allows all comfort and security equipment in the home to communicate and be
controlled from a single common control point.
The exibility and perfect compatibility of the io-homecontrol®system provides support for you as
your needs evolve. With the io-homecontrol®system, you can start by automating the roller shutters
and the front door, then equip the outside awnings, the gate and the garage door or garden lighting.
Even when tted at different times, all of this equipment remains compatible with the existing
installation thanks to the use of io-homecontrol®technology that guarantees interoperability.

2.1. Safety and liability
• This Somfy product must be installed by a professional motorisation and home automation installer for whom
this guide is intended.
• Never begin installing before checking the compatibility of this product with the associated devices
and accessories.
• This guide describes the installation and set-up of this product and how to use it.
• Moreover, the installer must comply with standards and legislation in the country in which the product is
being installed, and inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for the product.
• Any use outside the sphere of application dened by Somfy is prohibited. In this event, as with all usage
not consistent with these instructions, Somfy accepts no liability and the Somfy warranty is invalidated.

4. INSTALLATION
Caution! Comply with the standards and legislation
in force at the time of installation.
The Lighting receiver Variation io must be
installed in a location sheltered from
inclement weather and rain, and out of the
reach of children.
Either use the adhesive provided by Somfy or a xing
bracket to secure the Lighting receiver Variation io
in position.
Install the “Lighting receiver Variation io” as close as
possible of the light power supply.
3. COMPATIBILITY
The Lighting receiver Variation io is only compatible with power supplies (AC/DC) with 1-10V con-
trol.
- Connect a single power supply (AC/DC) with 1-10V control for each Lighting receiver
Variation io.

6. SET-UP
Power must only be supplied to one receiver at a time.
Turn on the power and follow procedure "a" or "b" according
to the light's reaction:
a) The light comes on then goes out
No Somfy io control point has been programmed. Go to the
"Programming the rst Somfy io local control point" section.
b) The light does not come on
Press the Up or Down button. If the light comes on or goes
out, the Somfy io control point has been programmed.
Go to the "Use" section.
6.2. Programming the rst Somfy io local control point
This guide describes set-up using only a Situo io type Somfy io local control point. To perform set-up
using a different io control point, refer to the corresponding instructions.
1) Simultaneously press the Up and Down buttons on the
Somfy io local control point: the light comes on then goes out.
2) Briey press the PROG button on the Somfy io local
control point: the light comes on then goes out again to
indicate that the Somfy io local control point has been
programmed into the Lighting receiver Variation io.

8. ADDITIONAL SETTINGS
1) To switch on the light:
- Press the Up button.
2) To turn off the light:
- Press the Down button.
3) To immediately switch on at the pre-set «my» favourite light
intensity (default 50%):
- Press the «my» button.
4) To increase the light intensity:
- Press and hold the Up button until the desired light intensity
is reached.
5) To reduce the light intensity:
- Press and hold the Down button until the desired light inten-
sity is reached.
When you reach «night-light» level, hold down the Down
button to turn off the light.

A maximum of 9 control points can be programmed

1) Press the PROG button on the programmed control
point (a) until the light goes on then goes off: the Lighting
receiver Variation io is now in programming mode for 10
minutes.

8.4. Replacing a lost or broken Somfy io control point
Refer to the corresponding guide.
8.5. Restoring the original conguration
This reset is done with a Somfy io local control point.
This reset deletes all control points.
Only perform the double cutout on the Lighting
Receiver Variation io to be reset.
1) Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
2) Switch the power supply back on for 5 to 15 seconds.
3) Cut the power supply for 2 seconds.
4) Switch the power supply back on: the light ashes slowly.
5) Hold down the PROG button: the light comes on then
goes off, and a few moments later the light comes on
again. The Lighting receiver Variation io is now in factory
conguration.
- Repeat the procedures in the "Set-up" section.

1. INTRODUCCIÓN
Lighting receiver Variation io es un receptor equipado con Radio Tecnología io. Este dispositivo
permite controlar todo tipo de luces por medio de un sistema de alimentación eléctrica (AC/DC) con
mando regulador de 1/10V (bombilla halógena, LED), desde un punto de mando local io de Somfy.
Lighting receiver Variation io permite ajustar la intensidad de las luces y memorizar una intensidad
de luz favorita, denominada posición favorita: dicha posición favorita puede ajustarse, por ejemplo,
a una iluminación de tipo luz de noche. Por defecto, la intensidad de luz favorita está ajustada, de
fábrica, al50 % de la intensidad máxima.
Debido a su grado de protección IP 55, Lighting receiver Variation io es apto para su utilización en
exterior, especialmente a la hora de controlar luces de terraza.
¿Qué es io-homecontrol®?
Lighting receiver Variation io utiliza io-homecontrol®, el nuevo protocolo de comunicación
inalámbrico, universal y seguro, utilizado por grandes fabricantes del ámbito del hogar.
Gracias a io-homecontrol®, todos los equipos de confort y de seguridad se comunican entre sí,
pudiendo ser controlados desde un mismo y único punto de mando.
La exibilidad y la perfecta compatibilidad del sistema io-homecontrol®le permiten ir adaptándose
a la evolución de los requisitos del usuario. Con el sistema io-homecontrol®podrá empezar por
automatizar las persianas y la puerta de entrada y más adelante equipar las persianas orientables

4. INSTALACIÓN
¡Atención! La instalación deberá realizarse conforme
a las normas y la legislación vigentes.
Lighting receiver Variation io deberá instalarse
protegido de la intemperie y de la lluvia, así
como fuera del alcance de los niños.
Para jar el dispositivo Lighting receiver Variation io
deberá utilizarse el adhesivo suministrado por Somfy
o una abrazadera.
Instalar el «lighting receiver io» lo mas cerca posible
del alimentador de la luz
3. COMPATIBILIDAD
Lighting receiver Variation io solamente es compatible con sistemas de alimentación eléctrica (AC/
DC) con mando regulador de 1/10V.
- Conecte solamente un sistema de alimentación eléctrica (AC/DC) con mando regulador de
1/10V por cada dispositivo Lighting receiver Variation io.

6. PUESTA EN MARCHA
Solamente se deberá conectar a la red un receptor a
la vez.
Conecte el dispositivo y siga el procedimiento "a" o "b" en
función de la respuesta de la luz:
a) La luz se enciende y después se apaga.
No se ha memorizado ningún punto de mando io Somfy.
Vaya al apartado "Memorización del primer punto de
mando local io Somfy".
b) La luz no se enciende
Pulse la tecla de Subida o Bajada. Si la luz se enciende o
se apaga, el punto de mando io Somfy está memorizado.
Vaya al apartado "Utilización".
6.2. Memorización del primer punto de mando local io Somfy
En esta guía se describe únicamente la puesta en marcha mediante un punto de mando local io
Somfy de tipo Situo io. Para realizar la puesta en marcha con cualquier otro punto de mando io,
consulte la guía correspondiente.
1) Pulse al mismo tiempo las teclas de Subida / Bajada
del punto de mando local io Somfy: la luz se encenderá y
después se apagará.
2) Pulse brevemente el botón PROG del punto de mando
local io Somfy: la luz se encenderá y después volverá
a apagarse, indicando con ello que el punto de mando
local io Somfy está memorizado en el dispositivo Lighting
receiver Variation io.

8.5. Vuelta a la conguración original
Esta operación de reinicio debe llevarse a cabo
mediante un punto de mando local io Somfy.
Esta operación de reinicio eliminará todos los puntos
de mando.
Realice la operación de doble corte de corriente
solamente para el dispositivo Lighting receiver
Variation io que desee reiniciar.
1) Corte la alimentación eléctrica durante 2 s.
2) Vuelva a conectar la alimentación eléctrica entre 5 y
15 s.
3) Corte la alimentación eléctrica durante 2 s.
4) Vuelva a conectar la alimentación eléctrica: la luz
parpadeará lentamente.
5) Mantenga pulsado el botón PROG: la luz se encenderá y
después se apagará; unos instantes más tarde, la luz volverá
a encenderse. El dispositivo Lighting receiver Variation io
habrá recuperado la conguración de fábrica.
- Repita los procedimientos descritos en el apartado "Puesta en

1. INTRODUZIONE
Il Lighting receiver Variation io è un ricevitore dotato della tecnologia radio io. Tramite una fonte
di alimentazione a corrente alternata permette di controllare qualsiasi tipo di illuminazione con
comando 1/10 V (lampade alogene e a LED) a partire da un punto di comando locale io Somfy.
Il Lighting receiver Variation io consente di variare l’intensità dell’illuminazione e di registrarne una
preferita: ad esempio, questa intensità preferita può essere impostata su un livello pari a quello di
una luce di orientamento. L’intensità luminosa predenita impostata in fabbrica è pari al 50% dell’in-
tensità massima.
Con un grado di protezione IP 55, il Lighting receiver Variation io può essere utilizzato in esterni, ad
esempio per controllare l’illuminazione di una terrazza.
Cos'è la tecnologia io-homecontrol®?
Il Lighting receiver Variation io utilizza il nuovo protocollo di comunicazione wireless io-homecontrol®,
universale e protetto, condiviso con i principali produttori del settore domotico.
io-homecontrol®permette a tutte le apparecchiature preposte al comfort e alla sicurezza di
comunicare tra loro e di essere comandate da un unico e medesimo punto di comando.
La essibilità e la perfetta compatibilità della tecnologia io-homecontrol®consentono al sistema di
adattarsi a tutte le esigenze. Con il sistema io-homecontrol® è possibile automatizzare innanzitutto le
tapparelle e la porta d'ingresso, quindi passare alle tende esterne, al cancello e alla porta del garage
o all'impianto d'illuminazione del giardino.
Anche se integrati in tempi diversi, questi sistemi mantengono la compatibilità con gli impianti

4. INSTALLAZIONE
Attenzione! Durante l'installazione, rispettare le
normative e la legislazione in vigore.
Il dispositivo Lighting receiver Variation io deve
essere installato al riparo dalle intemperie e
dalla pioggia, fuori dalla portata dei bambini.
Utilizzare l'adesivo fornito da Somfy o una fascetta
per ssare il Lighting receiver Variation io.
Installare il Lighting receiver Variation io il più vicino
possibile all’alimentazione della luce.
3. COMPATIBILITÀ
Il Lighting receiver Variation io è compatibile esclusivamente con fonti di alimentazione a corrente
alternata con comando 1/10 V.
- Collegare ogni Lighting receiver Variation io a una sola fonte di alimentazione a corrente
alternata con comando 1/10V.

Alimentare un solo ricevitore alla volta.
Mettere sotto tensione e seguire la procedura "a" o "b" a
seconda del comportamento della luce.

b) La luce non si accende.
Premere uno dei tasti Salita o Discesa. Se la luce si
accende o si spegne, il punto di comando io Somfy

6.2. Registrazione del primo punto di comando locale io Somfy
Il presente manuale descrive soltanto la messa in servizio con l'aiuto di un punto di comando locale
io Somfy di tipo Situo io. Per una messa in servizio con un punto di comando io diverso, consultare il
relativo manuale.
1) Premere contemporaneamente i tasti Salita e Discesa
del punto di comando locale io Somfy: la luce si accende e
poi si spegne.
2) Premere brevemente il tasto PROG del punto di
comando locale io Somfy: la luce si accende e poi si
spegne di nuovo, per indicare che il punto di comando
locale io Somfy è stato registrato nel dispositivo Lighting
receiver Variation io.

4) Per aumentare l’intensità luminosa:
- Premere e mantenere premuto il tasto Salita no a raggiun-
gere l’intensità luminosa desiderata.
5) Per ridurre l’intensità luminosa:
- Premere e mantenere premuto il tasto Discesa no a
raggiungere l’intensità luminosa desiderata.
Una volta raggiunto il livello di luminosità pari a quello
di una luce di orientamento, mantenere premuto discesa
per spegnere la lampada.
