Introduction
The WanderGuard BLUE Wearable Bracelet
(Wearable) signals the WanderGuard BLUE
EX5700 Controller that it is in a monitored
door field and the Controller can lock the
door. The Wearable is worn on the wrist and
has the look and feel of a modern smart
watch.
There are three Wearable types: 3-Year
Wearable (WGB-TAG-2000-3Y) with 3-Year
battery life and 90 Days Wearable (WGB-
TAG-2000-90D) with 90-Days battery life that
transmits messages only when in EX5700
Controller range; the 1-Year Wearable (WGB-
TAG-2000-1Y) transmits messages every 20
seconds when not in the EX5700 Controller’s
range.
The type is indicated on the back label. The
M/N of the Wearable is WGB-TAG-2000-xx,
where xx is 90D, 1Y or 3Y.
Wearable Activation
The Wearable must be activated before
applying it to a resident’s wrist. Once
activated, a Wearable cannot be deactivated.
The Wearable is activated using the
WanderGuard BLUE Detector. Please refer to
the WanderGuard BLUE Deployment Guide.
Cleaning the Wearable
Follow these recommendations for cleaning
the Wearable.
• Use mild soap and water to remove
any apparent debris.
• Disinfect the Wearables by wiping
with an alcohol sanitizer or germicidal
cleaner for 60 seconds. Use only
cleaners marked as safe for plastics.
Wearables are incompatible with
disinfectants containing Glycol Ether.
• Dry with a soft, clean cloth.
• Do not use in an autoclave.
Wearable Wristband Types
Two types of bands are available for the
WanderGuard BLUE Wearable Wearable:
cut -resistant and non-cut resistant. For each
type, there are two possible lengths: short
and long. The Wearable Wearable is shipped
with the wristbands already attached and
ready to be applied to the residents.
Wristband Basic Parts
The wristband kit includes: the band; a
removable metal plate with two Metal Pins,
plus a plastic pin cover called the Locking
Clip; a fixed metal end pin plus a closer loop
called the Band Closer; and the Removal
Tool.
Removing the Wearable
1 Place the Removal Tool over the Lock-
ing Clip.
2 Squeeze the Removal Tool’s sides
together so that the Locking Clip’s ears
spring outward.
3 Remove the Locking Clip, and pull the
band out of the Metal Pins.
4 Take care to keep all parts for future use.
Applying the Wearable
1 Fit the band on the resident’s wrist with
the Wearable number facing outward.
2 Press the band holes on to the two
pins, so that the Metal Pins fully extend
through the band holes.
3 Place the Locking Clip on the Metal
Pins, and lock by pressing the two ears
inward.
4 Place the Band Closer’s hole over the
end pin, and press it through the hole
to complete the Wearable application
process.
