1. Lay SX panel horizontally with escutcheon and cylinder lock facing
down.
2. Install screw #6-32 x 2” into the center block to aid in pulling and
holding the center block in position.
3. Remove Dummy Plate from center block. Be sure to save the two #10-
32 x 3/4” flat head machine screws holding Dummy Plate, as you will
need them for later installation.
4. Locate the center block in the rectangular hole.
5. Align the protruding square of the center block with the square hole in
the mounting plate and place onto the center block. (See Fig. 5.)
6. Place scissor cartridge on center block and secure with the two #10-32
x 3/4” flat head machine screws. (See Fig. 6)

7. Secure Crank arm.
a. Remove the #6-32 x 2” helper screw.
b. Align crank arm with shaft. You may have to operate the push
bar scissors to align tab with slot.
c. Secure with one #6-32 x 1/4” truss head. (See Fig. 7)
8. Insert push bar (See Fig. 9) and secure end caps with four #10-32 x
1/2” self-tapping screws. (See Fig. 10)
9. Center Panic bar assembly on mutton bar. Measure six inches down
from end of panic bar. (End opposite to center block) Drill .218” hole
centered through panic hardware and mutton bar. Secure hardware
down with ¼-20 x 1” self-tapping hex head bolt.

10.Insert cover strip into back bar. Push in until flush with back bar
extension. (See Fig. 11)
11.Install base caps and secure with four #10-32 x 2” self-tapping screws.
(See Fig.12)

12.Adjust bottom throw bolt length.
a. Remove the four #10-32 flat head screws from the guide block in
the bottom of the stile
b. Rotate the bottom throw bolt counterclockwise until it sticks out
5/8” from the bottom of the stile.
c. Replace guide block and four #10-32 flat head screws.
13.Check operations.
a. Fully depress push bar and release
b. Top bolt will retract and latch.

c. Push the jamb sensor in and you should see about 5/8” of
movement from the top bolt.
