For better overall system performance, the Thunderbolt dock employs a dedicated controller for onboard I/O
handling, which frees up your system resources for other tasks. With data transfer rates up to 10 Gbps (twice the
speed of USB 3.0), Thunderbolt technology simultaneously supports high-resolution displays and high-performance
data devices through a single interface. Thunderbolt also allows you to daisy-chain up to 6 additional devices for
maximum connectivity.

MacBook or Ultrabook. External USB 3.0 hard drives and SSD drives benefit from the smooth response and faster
data transfer rates provided by UASP. Older USB peripherals aren't a problem either, with backward-compatibility
for USB 2.0/1.1 devices.
