WARNING
Make sure the unit is appropriate for the intended use (if needed, refer to the product catalog or a representative).
Recommended heating capacity:
1.25 W/cubic foot (0.03 m³).
It corresponds to 10 watts / square foot (0.09 m²) based on a standard ceiling height of 8 feet (2.44 m). The recommended capacity is usually sufcient
for normal heating needs. Please note that the insulation quality of walls and windows are some of the factors that inuence heat losses, which modify the
required capacity to heat a room. If needed, refer to a specialist (industrial and commercial buildings) who will be able to calculate these heat losses and
optimize the required capacity or consult the “Online heating calculation” section of the Stelpro Design Web site (residential buildings). To heat a large room
and to increase your comfort, it is recommended to install several units instead of one. For example, 2 X 1000 W rather than 1 X 2000 W.
If the unit capacity is insufcient for the size of the room, it will be in operation continuously, and may become defective earlier.
Respect distances and positions indicated in the installation section. Make sure the unit does not fall on its side.
Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
Do not use outdoors. (Omitted if the heater is intended for outdoor use.)
If the installer or the user modies the unit, he will be held responsible for any damage resulting from this modication, and the CSA certication could be void.

Before starting the unit, make sure the power cord is fully inserted into the wall outlet. If it is a ceiling outlet, it is recommended to x the connector to the
outlet using a proper clamp system.
Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or re locatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
When starting up the unit for the rst time or after a long period, it is normal that it produces some temporary odours and whitish smoke.
This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Be careful and

Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0,9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them
away from the sides and rear (sides and rear restrictions apply to location dedicated heaters only).
DANGER – High temperatures may be generated under certain abnormal conditions. Do not partially or fully cover or obstruct the front of this heater.
You must leave at least 6 in. (152 mm) of clearance between the air inlet of the heater and the walls of the room where the heater will be installed.
Do not install on a wall behind a door.
To prevent a possible re, do not block air intakes or exhausts in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or re, or damage the heater.
A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, ammable liquids, chlorine, sawdust or cleaning products
are used or stored. Store it in a dry place when not using it.
Some areas are dustier than others. Thus, it is the user’s responsibility to evaluate if the unit must be cleaned based on the amount of dirt accumulated on
and inside air vents. Accumulated dirt can lead to a component malfunction. It may cause a re hazard if not installed and maintained in accordance with
these instructions.
The thermal protection activation indicates that the unit has been subjected to abnormal operating conditions. If the thermal protection remains activated or
activates and deactivates repeatedly, it is recommended that a qualied electrician or a certied repair centre examine the unit in order to make sure it is not
damaged. (Refer to the limited warranty)
Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or
return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
This unit is equipped with a protection device whose activation is indicated by a light inside the unit, the protective device cuts off the supply to the unit and
warning light turn on. Unplug the unit, replug it and check if the light turns on again. If such is the case, disconnect the unit and have it repaired at a recognized
service center. Never modify or repair the unit yourself. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a re.
This heater includes a visual alarm (red light) to warn that parts of the heater are overheating. If the red light turns on, immediately turn heater off and inspect
for any objects on or adjacent to the heater that may cause high temperatures. DO NOT OPERATE WHEN RED LIGHT IS ON.
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of re, electric shock, and injury to persons.
Read all instructions before using this heater.
Always unplug the heater when not in use.
Avoid the use of an extension cord. Extension cords may overheat and cause risk of re. If you must use an extension cord, the cord must be a No. 10 AWG
minimum size and rated no less than 6 kW.
Before unplugging the unit, all controls must be in the “OFF” position and the current from the main breaker panel should be cut. (The general switch may be
used also, if included.) If the unit is damaged or defective, discontinue use, cut off power supply at circuit breaker and contact a certied electrician or certied
repair centre. (Refer to the limited warranty)
When transporting or storing the heater and cord, keep in a dry place, free from excessive vibration and store so as to avoid damage.
