3.2 Features,
Warnings and Proper
Operation
WARNINGS – CAUTIONS
ANDPROPEROPERATION:
A. The stretchers have a
warning label located at the
head end stating: Maximum
patient weight 226 Kilograms
(500 Lbs.)
B.Patiententry,egressandtrans-
fershouldalwaysbedonewith
the brakes locked.
C. The brakes should always be
locked and patient side
rails up when patient is not in
transport.
D.Thepatientpendanthasawarn-
ing label on it stating: Clip
pendant to rail when not in
use - Keep cord clear of mov-
ing parts.
E. It is important to remember
that all electric stretchers are
equipped with a built in bat-
tery back-up system but: It is
recommended that the unit
remainpluggedinwallrecep-
tacle during normal use. The
battery back back-up is rec-
ommended for transport and
emergency only.
F.TheFowlerbackrestquickdrop
handle is intended to be
used during emergency situ-
ations only.
G. Be sure rail is locked before
leaving patient.
H. The lock out knobs deactivate
both the patient pendant and
the control panel.
I. The stretcher has a warning
label on the tube of the leg
section stating: Severe dam-
age could occur to stretcher.
Before raising the foot
section, the heel stirrup axial
adjustment must be straight.
J. The stretcher has a warning
label on the end of the foot
section stating: Do not sit
on foot section. Tipping may
occur.
K. The stretcher has a warning
label on the foot rest stating:
Do not stand on foot rest.
L. To turn electric controls on,
plug into wall receptacle. To
turnoff,removeplugfromwall
receptacle. The electric pow-
ered stretchers do not have a
separate on/off switch.
M. The stretcher has a warning
label located on the control
box cover stating: To reduce
the risk of electrical shock do
notremovethecover.Service
by qualified personnel only.
N. Always disconnect the power
source whenever servicing
any electric powered
stretcher.
O.Do notuse asharp instrument
to remove fuse, as it may
scratch the circuit board.
P. The batteries are wired in
series, failure to install or re-
wirethesamewaymaycause
the batteries to explode.
R. The stretcher has a warning
label on the tube of the leg
section stating: Do not trans-
port patient in the chair con-
figuration(tippingmayoccur).
S. Floors must be smooth and
leveltomaintainoptimumfifth
wheel steering. Fifth wheel
steering functions can be in-
fluencedbyfloorirregularities
(bumpsordips)greaterthan1/
2inch(13mm)acrossthespan
ofthestretcher.
