1. Introduction
II is aFree-To-Airdigital terrestrial receiver, allowing youto
access free-to-air digitalterrestrial TVchannels and radiobroadcasts on
your TVset. Its digitalreception covers VHF& UHF band.Compared
with the analogTV programs,digital TVprograms eliminate thenoise
and interference butoffer highquality video andaudio. Anon-screen
initial installation guideis provided sothat you caneasily start toenjoy
watching the programs. In addition, afully featured remotecontroller is
included that offers you accessto every featurewith a simplepress of a
button.

2.1 Frontpanel
1 ANT IN : This socket connects to your external aerial.
2 TO TV: This socket willbypass the RF signalto either yourTV or another
video system.
3 S/PDIF COAXIAL: This socket connectsto a coaxial socketon your surround soundsystem.
4 VCR SCART: This socket connectsto either a DVDor other video system.
5 TV SCART: This socket connectsto your TV.
6 RS-232 PORT: This socket isonly used for softwareupgrade.
7 MAINS CABLE: This is usedto connect to yourmain power supply.
1 POWER BUTTON: Used to turn on/off the main powersupply.
2 REMOTE CONTROLSENSOR: Used to receive thesignal from the remotecontrol.
3 STANDBYINDICATOR: Used to visually showpower state of thereceiver, the green
LED will be lightif turned on thereceiver and the redLED will be light if the receiver
entered standby mode.
4 CHANNEL UP/DOWN: Used to change channels without using the remotecontrol.

Remote Key Function:
1. DTV/VCR To switchbetween the VCR SCARTinput and the
DTV output mode.
2. INFO To displayinformation about the channelbeing
viewed or further informationabout the program
when in small EPGscreen.
3. PAUSE To pause the program being viewed.
4. EPG To displayinformation about the programbeing
viewed and what's onnext.
5. EXIT To returnto the previous screen or menu.
6. Ok To confirma selection within amenu.
7. VOL+ To movearound the menu screens or changing
the volume in non-menustate.
8. FAVORITE: To access your favourite channels.
9. GAME: To select3 built-in mini games: Mine,Tetris,
Gomoku, and the Calendar.
10. RECALL To switchbetween the last twoviewed channels.
11. SUBTITLE:To switchbetween different subtitles orselect
subtitle to On that are broadcasted
12. TEXT: To openteletext OSD display ifteletext available
in the broadcasted stream.
13. STANDBY: To switchthe receiver to onand standby.
14. MUTE To turn the sound on oroff directly.
15. MENU To openthe main menu window.
16. CH+ To movearound the menu screens or selecting
the channels in non-menustate.
17. VOL- To movearound the menu screens or changing
the volume in non-menustate.
18. CH- To movearound the menu screens or selecting
the channels in non-menustate.
19. NUMBER KEYS:To selectchannel numbers or input
numbers in menus.
20. AUDIO To setthe sound output, theavailable settings are
STEREO, LEFT,RIGHT, MONO.
21. TV/RADIO:To switchbetween TV channels andRadio
stations.
22. COLOR KEYS(RED/GREEN/YELLOW/BLUE): To operate
different functions inTEXT screen or othermenus.

for all channels

2.3 Installingthe Batteries
Remove the batterycover from theremote control andput 2XAAAsize batteries
inside the compartment.
The diagram insidethe battery compartmentshows the correctway to installthe
batteries.

2.4 Usingthe RemoteControl
Touse the remotecontrol, point ittowards the frontof the digitalreceiver
The remote controlhas a rangeof up to7 metres fromthe receiver atan angle
of up to60 degrees.
The remote controlwill not operateif its pathis blocked.
Sunlight or verybright light willdecrease the sensitivityof the remote
control.

Note: When connecting thereceiver to otherequipment, e.g., TV, VCR and
amplifier, makesure to referto relevant usermanual for instruction.Also, make
sure you disconnectall the equipmentsfrom the mainssupply before theconnection.

After allthe connections havebeen made properly, switch onyour TV.
Make sure thereceiver is connectedto the mainsand pressPower to
switch the receiveron. If youare using thereceiver for thefirst time,
a First TimeInstallation menu will bedisplayed to guideyou through
the initial setup.Use the remotecontroller to finishthe setup.
1. At theFirst time installationmenu, select infirst step yourregional
settings, for nextstep press on the remotecontrol.
2. Select thenyou're OSD Language,Time Zoneand AntennaPower.
If you usean active antennaplease selectAntenna Power toON.
Then selectNEXT to proceed.
Note: Make sure toselect the regionyou are locatedsince the receiverwill scan the
channels based onthe bandwidth ofthe region youselected. If yourregion is noton
the list, youare recommended toconduct a manual search. Refer to Manual
Search on page 16 for details.

3. Waitto complete thescanning.
In case youwant to stopthe scanning, pressthe EXIT key.
The channelsalready found willstill be stored.
4. When finished,all active channelsfound will bestored
automatically.The lastfound channel willbe played.
Now you areready to watchdigital terrestrialTV channels andradio
broadcasts.
In case youskip theFirst TimeInstallation screen, you canstill
specify yourRegional Settingand Program Searchvia the on-
screen setup menu.
TheRegional Settingmenu can beaccessed viaMain Menu>
System Settings> Regional Setting.Refer to Regional Setting
on page 20for details.
TheProgram Searchmenu can beaccessed viaMain Menu>
Program Search> Automatic Search /Manual Search.Refer to
Automatic Search on page 15for details.

5. BasicOperations
Once program searchis completed, youcan start towatch digital
terrestrial TV channelsand radio broadcasts.Some typical operations
are given inthis chapter.
5.1 Switching Onand Off
5.2 Changing Channels
Toswitch between differentchannels, you can:
Press OK to display thechannel list andUP/DOWN to select adesired
channel.
Whenever you arenot using thereceiver for along time, pressthe button
on the frontof receiver.It will switchMAIN power totallyOFF.For daily us,
you can justus theStandby key on remotecontrol to putit into standby
mode.
Press theCH+ / CH-key or buttonson the receiverto go tothe previous/
next channel.
Use the numerickeys to selecta channel number.
Use theRECALL key to returnto the previousviewed channel.
Whenever you changea channel, abanner appears atthe bottom ofthe
screen displaying thebasic information onthe current channel.
5.3Adjusting theVolume
Press theVOL+ / VOL-key to adjustthe volume.

5.4 WatchingFavorite List
Youcan pressFAVORITE to watch yourpreset favorite channels.
Tocreate your favoritelist, go toMain Menu> Program List.
Refer to Creating Favorite ChannelGroups on page 13for detailed
information.
5.5 Displayinginformation
Todisplay the detailedinformation of thecurrent channel, press the
INFO key.
5.6 ChoosingSubtitle
Youcan press theSUBTITLE key to selector close subtitleson the
screen. Theavailable subtitles dependon the broadcaster.
5.7 Freezing
When watching achannel, you canfreeze the currentscreen by pressing
the PAUSEkey.Pressing it againdisables the freeze function.

Toview the EPG(electronic program guide)provided by the content
provider:
1. Press theEPG key and thenuse theUp / Downkey highlight a
desired channel topreview the EPG.To view today'scomplete EPG,
press theRight key.
2. When today'scomplete EPG isdisplayed, use theUp / Down key to
scroll along theEPG. To view theEPG of next/previous day,press the
UP /Down key continuously.
Tosee the highlightedEPG details, pressthe Right key.
3. Thedetailed EPG screenwill show asbelow if pressedthe Right key.

The receiver featuresan on-screen menuproviding access toa variety
of setup andmanagement controls. Usethe remote controll to navigate
through the menuand activate requiredsettings.
6.1 ManagingProgram List
Main Menu >Program List >TV / RadioProgram ListAll active
channels are listedin theProgram List,allowing you tomake your own
favorite channel group,move, delete orsort channels.
6.2 CreatingFavorite ChannelGroups
This feature allowsyou to groupyour favorite channels.To create your
favorite groups:
1. Select thechannel which youwould like toadd to thegroup and
go to theFavor column.
2. When theFavor column of thedesired channel ishighlighted,
one red heartsymbol would appearafter pressed theOK key.
Pressing theOK key again willun-select the channelfrom the
favorite group.
3. Once yourfavorite group iscreated, you canpress the
FAVORITE keys to quicklyaccess your favoritechannels.
6. Usingthe On-ScreenSetup Menu

1. Select the channelwhich you liketo move andgo to theMove column.
2. PressOK and on symbol will bedisplayed.
3. Use theUp / Downkey to movethe channel toa desired position.
6.4 Deletinga Channel
1. Select the channelwhich you liketo delete andgo to theDel column.
2. PressOK and anX symbol will bedisplayed. Repeat thisstep in the
channel to bedeleted.
3. PressEXIT or MENU and the markedchannel will bedeleted.

1. Go toMain Menu> Program List> Sort.
2. You can sortthe channels bythe channel name,service ID or
channel number.Select one methodas required.
3. PressMENU or EXIT to return theprogram list.
The listis now sortedby the specifiedorder.

Search > Automatic Search.

If any channelis missing afterauto search, oryou want toadd newly
launched channels, youcan useManual Searchto scan thedesired
channels. To manually searchthe target channel, you must knowits
parameters, e.g., thechannel number.After the channel is found,
it is appendedto the currentchannel list.
1. Enter theManual Searchmenu viaMain Menu> Program
Search > Manual Search.
2. Specify the appropriatechannel number inthe Channel No
field by pressingRight/Left or the numerickeys. Upon your
selection, the frequencyand bandwidth valuesare changed
accordingly.
3. SelectOK to start manualsearch.
4. If nosignal is found,a message indicatingno signal willappear.
Otherwise scanned channelwill be savedand appended tothe
current channel list.

6.8 ParentalControl
This feature allowsyou to preventchildren or unauthorizedpeople from
watching channels.
1. Go toMain Menu> Parental Control.First, you willneed to enterPIN
as prompted touse the parentalcontrol menu.
The default PINis 0000
2. Aftercorrect PIN input,the following optionsare provided:
Channel Lock:Allows you toactivate or de-activatethe overall parental
control. When setto YES, all the channelswith locking settingswill be
locked.
Parental Setting:In the channellist, select thechannel you wantto lock
and then pressOK. A padlocksymbol will bedisplayed. To remove the
lock, pressOK again.
